Sweet set up👌 How do yhe guys get that smooth finish to the clay? Our club is building an oval and we've discussed the best way to get that finished surface. We have thought of dragging a big square piece of 3/4 thick flat rubber around to act like a finishing trowel.🤷♂️

Hyster that's a great question. I'm not as up to date on track prep. I've helped with it but don't know what all goes into it. Hoping to feature an episode soon with a friend and track owner discussing what it's like to be a track promoter and owner. But a lot of it is packing, rolling it smooth, water it, roll it covered with tarps on then more with tarps off. Dragging a tire and such helps as well. Hopefully I can get an episode with more info in the future.

How do you find the rules and classes?
@jbtricklerc Жыл бұрын
Check out their Facebook page as I believe they have them posted there. Also, Grassroots racing page. They have rules posted as well and most tracks around here run Grass roots rules.

JB I need advice on how to start dirt oval racing I live in central Illinois and we don’t have anything like that around here other than carpet racing I want to race dirt and a pro late model could you possibly give me some advice or some websites to look up the parts to build a high end pro mod late model like that I’m a good driver just never have dived into the late model aspect of rc
@jbtricklerc2 жыл бұрын
Cody thats a great question. As far as starting a track I'm honestly not sure as I've never been a race director or track owner. Just a racer myself. I'm hoping to have a video featuring a track owner interview soon that will have some information like this as well. If you wanted information on that I'd check out facebook groups for Dirt oval tracks and possibly chat with the track owner and promoter to get good information. As far as building some Late Model RC cars there are several options. When you say Pro Mod Late Model the closest things we have to that around here would be say the 17.5 Pro Class but its not really a mod class but its the fastest and "pro" class of RC Late Model racing. The car kits you would be looking at there would be GFRP, Custom Works, Ghost etc. All of which have websites where you can check out the car kits. Those are all purpose built carbon fiber dirt oval car chassis kits and the GFRP Havoc is what I run. I've got several episodes here on the channel that cover some of these cars as well as some building tutorials and setup and tuning guides that my be worth a look for you as well. I hope this information helps. Thank you for the support and comment.

Where did you get your rc cars
@jbtricklerc2 жыл бұрын
Kara, many came from Moonville RC & Hobby. Others came from other sellers and racers.

What is the cost race there or be a member of the club?
@jbtricklerc2 жыл бұрын
Mitch, Great question. No memberships required. Just need a RC car that is recognized in the many different classes offered and pay an entry fee that can range from $10 to $20 generally.
