I'm a fan of the firefly hex nano! So far every hex I have flown requires more throttle input when turning. I enjoy flying it around and the additional input required to keep level and smooth has actually helped me be more accurate with altitude when flying my squirts

Just when I think I'm out, they pull me back in! Ordered the Foxwhoop yesterday to replace my cinerace. Gonna eventually fix it but just want to be able to fly something so as to take off the pressure during repair. But wow! Just saw this in an email and low and behold you deliver this review. Really considering a pre order of this as it uses pretty much most of the same parts as my cinerace including the propellers, 48 of them, than I recieved the day it stopped flying. And it has alot of lights on it which are more easily customizable than the whole light strip like on the cinerace. Also that crash! Wow little guy is tough. Definitely considering on pre ordering now that watched this. It could be a fun basher once I learn more on the cinewhoops. Definitely a unique aircraft. Mahalo as always for the entertaining and informative review.

Nic I just wanted to comment on the SMO 4K camera. Last summer I made a naked GoPro seven but unfortunately it got destroyed very quickly on. So I decided to buy the SMO 4K as a replacement. Overall I’m happy with the picture quality, but where I find this camera falls down is the stabilization. Insta 360s flow state stabilization often leaves me with jerky motions when I’m doing turns in my videos. Whereas if I ran the same footage from a GoPro through real steady I would always get better smoother results. I guess the good news is because the stabilization software based there is the opportunity that they can improve it. Let’s hope so!

These come down to the overall size we need or are comfortable with and the weight of the external hd camera we need to carry. More prop will handle the load better but will likely be a touch louder and bigger than the smaller propped versions

It is awesome that Flywoo has created so many hex BNFs in the last year or two. This quad is amazing, it is so cool how they fit a naked digital vista and the fc/esc board in this hex format and have it under 200g with the SMO4k HD camera! Still not bad flight times at 3-4m for how much power this little quad is probably consuming. The punch-outs do look great, very nice! Awesome flying overall, looks like a very fun quad and something new of course which is always nice. Thanks for the review!

Hey Nick I just wanted to say thanks for all the videos and let you know that I have experienced a similarly odd situation where I was coming over top of something and into a dive and unexpectedly plummeted to the ground even with the throttle all the way down. I came floating over top of some power lines, and did a forward roll into the dive but before I could even orient myself I was hitting the ground. The roll wasn't slow either, I chopped the throttle and went full pitch forward and expected a good 2ish seconds of dive. I had some wind that day too and that is all I could figure. I also had a question for you, (excuse the noob question but I'm new) what screws are you using to secure your props? I've been so frustrated at losing props and I know there has to be a better way but surprisingly, I've not been able to find any info in all my google searches. All the screws I've tried are loose enough that I think they would just back out and get flung at high speeds from the prop. Thanks again for your vids!
@NickBurnsFPV
@NickBurnsFPV Жыл бұрын
The screws are m2 hex headed screws. The length is likely 5mm. I say likely as the actually measure the threads its about 5.48mm. I suggest buying an m2 screw kit as to be sure to have several sizes and as you "gather" more quads you will find a use for them. And a kit is fairly inexpensive around $12-$15.

I used two SMO4k cameras last summer and into this spring. They appeared to have a pretty decent image and you I could get acceptable color grading out of them plus the stabilization was pretty good. Unfortunately both copies of my SMO4k's just stopped working, to the point where the button to start and stop recording would not work. I returned both of mine to my retailer who refuneded my purchase price and have moved onto a DJI Action 2.

yes we can. It varies depending on the environment with vista video transmission the hard limit is 13km. With analog, another type of video transmission, it will depend on the mw of the video transmitter and the environment. Some have 30+km on 1watt analog vtx, but the image isn't nearly as good.

This Looks Better than the 1.6 nano hex. They list a analog version, but no price yet or actual link to analog version. That Whacking the glass table is a good way of showing it's durable. Really liked the video but this one isn't for me. You can get a good camera quad that runs 2/3S that is stable at slower speeds and is great for cruising and screaming around podracer style. I've flown a micro hex before (a kind friend gave me a go) but it was too long ago (3 years?) to be very useful, it was definitely Betaflight 4.0, so summer 2019? I found it to be very stable in forward flight and in shallow turns but as soon as I tried to fly aggressively, it was very slow to roll/yaw. I didn't crash it but didn't have the confidence to do anything particularly wild (especially with another's aircraft!). It was like having the weight of the 5" but without the outrageous acceleration and top speed. IIRC, he replaced it with a cinewhoop as he got to fly the way he wanted (cruising) but with a more stable platform. The repeated view of you bouncing off the table with the voice over made me laugh out loud. I don't know why, it just tickled me! Was curious to see how you'd choose motorpost-to-motorpost on a hex... I guess we'll have to wait for the next one.

That is interesting, I completely agree. so far in my experience the Flywoo brand batteries completely suck and i would avoid them at all costs! I have 4 batteries from them and 2 batteries have 1 cell with unusually high internal resistance - the avg is about 18 or 20 but on 2 packs they each have a single cell around 40. One of the packs damaged cell is also now at zero volts - so it is now complete garbage. And note that I had ZERO Flights on that pack!!! The other one with the high IR value is useable but lacks punch and sags voltage like crazy. Please note that I have a good 2 dozen or more LiPo batteries a few that are almost a decade old (from 2013!) and I have never ever damaged one. All of my equipment is is great shape as i take great care of it all and i take lipo care very seriously. The other 2 Flywoo packs are ok, nothing great but not bad. There are for sure much better batteries out there for your money. Also note that i do not have any problems or issues or beefs with anyone or any other companies in this hobby, this is not how i want to spend any of my time. Oh, and last but not least the customer care from Flywoo is ATROCIOUS! Zero out of 5 star rating. they are really something else! So bad that at this point i would rather eat any problems than try to continue to deal with them. Did i get unlucky? Did i do anything that caused any of these problems (i have many quads, all of them are flying fine for years... so i don't think so) but the cust. svc. rep kept transferring all blame onto me starting from the very first email without ever even seeing the damaged items. They literally replied on the first email that I damaged the battery from "improper use "- how they heck would they know that already??? All i did was send them an email saying that I received a defective pack right out of the box... and it only got worse from there. 0/5 score for sure. Not once did I get a "we are sorry you are having any issues" or "we are here to help" or "why don't you send those items back to us, we would be happy to provide a replacement after we check them to verify what happened".
