My whole yard is covered in what i think are red white hybrids. The one right at my back door has small and large glossy and fuzzy leaves. Pinky nail sized fruit. Another one i have has thumb sized fruit. Love the variety in wild fruits

@@joman104 That's awesome! Yes they can vary dramatically. I remember in our old neighborhood there were mostly white mulberries, and some tasted like blackberries, some were bland, and some were tropical-tasting. All different colors and sizes!

I was going to ask if those were elderberries in the back, but it was confirmed towards the end of the video. 😁 We had a red mulberry in the backyard at my parent's growing up. It was the neighbor's tree, but she plants 30' trees a foot away from the fence, so about half of it was in our yard. I remember the fruit being really good, but children are idiots and I had a sample size of 1, so I'm not sure how accurate that memory is.

@@paul.1337 Haha, yes we are growing our fair share of elderberries too. These fruit are definitely really good, so that checks that box!

Did you try growing dwarf Thai mulberry? If so, I would love if you can make a video of this mulberry cultivar.

@@SamMTL514 I actually haven't, most of our experience comes from wild types and now Illinois Everbearing. I'll surely share my thoughts if we ever grow this variety!

@ I kept hearing about how productive this mulberry tree, ever-bearing, and fruit quality is excellent. After two years search, I found someone in Canada growing it. I was able to ship a cutting. It’s currently, 3’ tall and well established in 12” pot. It’s indoor under grow light until next spring. Cannot wait to taste the fruit.

@samMTL514 That's awesome, I hope it yields a lot for you. Mulberries take a few years to get going but once they do...you won't know what to do with all of the fruit!
@MauricioLizarraga-n7kАй бұрын
do you have an ebay store for cuttings?
@themulberriesАй бұрын
@@MauricioLizarraga-n7k Yes, we will probably only have mulberry trees next year but we should have more cuttings available in coming years. We have the same name on eBay, themulberries.

That does look to be very rubra. Rubras tend to only make 1 fruit per node so maybe a hybrid? Or maybe you have a unique rubra. I have 2 pure rubras that a quite small but the leaves are distinctly different in feel from the hybrids. Not genetically tested but rubras are common where the source is from. I also love mulberries but make very little mulberry content 😂.

@@GrowsGoneWild Glad to hear this from someone else! They're such adaptable trees with so many uses, it's hard not to like them unless you park your car under one, haha.

@@themulberries definitely. The varieties can also be so different from each other so it makes collecting interesting. I have 40+ different varieties 😂
