This video was great on so many levels. First, you always eat much better meals when Nicole is on the trips, and I love her sense of humor. The scenery on this trip really beautiful and Robbie's music was so perfect, especially the Renaissance style counterpoint with those haunting intervals of fourths and fifths. The philosophical musings were appropriate as well. As humans we do need the experience of wild nature, especially in the Spring season to restore our souls.

Horse hoof fungus were used in ancient times for transporting fire. You can place a small ember in the center of one, wrap it up with moss and it'll smolder for a long time. These embers were then used to start the next fire. Another great video...bravo!

Finally finished and still humbled by the beauty of this video. I can see so much effort went into capturing every aspect. I appreciate all the scenes you must've had to film twice like the waterfall scene and capturing all 4 of you walking on the bridge. There are so many things that are well though put out and then there is just mellow majesty of the nature you captured. I like all the botany mixed in, trying plants and mushrooms. Most of all I just like the hangin parts where you guys are being yourselves. Nicole with her high fives, all the bits of silliness and wisdom you all drop. Just cool guy, thank you so much for filming this and sharing it with the world. Keep up the great work!

I vibed with the campfire discussion. I work at a big company in a big city and I'm no where near as close to nature as I want to be--and more stressed out in my day to day than I have to be. I moved into the city for important career moves but I always have my eyes on the prize to get back to being close to nature. Your talks are vital and help me stay focused on getting back.

Thanks so much for the comment! I'm glad our video helped. It can definitely feel stressful living in a big city. Sometimes even finding local greenspaces can help escape for a bit. What a wonderful variety of wildflowers! I never see anything like that in the Spring in NW MO state parks and conservation areas-very few wildflowers and not a lot of variety either. Of course, there is nothing to compare with the scenery in New River Gorge either, having no gorges to speak of, being mostly farmland. And Glade Creek was really nice with all its rapids and waterfalls and being right next to the trail the whole way. Thanks for the nice adventure.

Also violet tea and violet vinegar. It's best to dry the flowers for the tea. The vinegar can be used for a vinaigrette or it help to soothe skin irritation like sunburn. I don't know that any of your other episodes quite capture the essence of springtime like this one. I remember hearing the opening monologue for the first time and being moved by it emotionally. (Don't judge me!) To be in "nature's playground" is a beautiful feeling.
