Love the tent setup! Nice and low profile! Was pretty nervous when you both got up on that table! Was so glad to see she got a power surge right when I thought it was going to come crashing down!!

I admit, I was not too impressed with the look of the Xplore tent ... but then you “fixed” that ... woodland camp/subdued logo... NAILED IT!
@alexandregh.38313 жыл бұрын
Very nice project. This tent seems solid but heaven's (I am no expert, it's just my feeling watching you trying to lift it on the top of the Jeep.) By the way, as a french speaking person from Québec prov., Chantal french was a delight for my ears! Keep up the good work. I'm eater to see how this new tent will endure the elements and the abusé of the trails in further episodes (rain, dust, snow, branches scratches) 😁

Great looking tent but I was worried when you were lifting, nerve wracking to say the least ! Glad you got it up there safely !!

LOOKS LIKE A COOL SPACE SHIP SITTING ON YOUR JEEP 🚙 OR A NEW STYLE DRONE ! LIKE THE CAMO TOO 😎 CAN'T WAIT TO SEE HOW COMFORTABLE IT IS FOR THE BOTH OF YOU ? ALSO THE WIND NOISE & MILEAGE ? WONDER IF A PNEUMATIC HAND RIVETER & NUT & THREAD SETTING KIT WOULD WORK NICELY SINCE IT IS AN ALUMINUM TOP TO PUT THE SOLAR PANELS ON TOP ? WHEN YOU WERE USING THE TABLE TO GET HIGHER TO SLIDE THE ROOFTOP TENT ON TOP OF THE JEEP , I WAS SO GLAD IT DIDN'T FLIP / TURN OVER & YOU BOTH GET HURT . HAD MY FINGERS CROSSED & SAID A QUICK PRAY 🙏 PLUS WHAT ELSE COULD OF HAPPENED . HOW'S THE WEATHER THERE FOR YOU'LL? BE SAFE ! HAVE FUN ! GOD BLESS YOU BOTH 🙏 ALWAYS ON YOUR JOURNEYS ! ENJOYED 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨
@NorthBoundExpeditions3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! There’s no difference in wind noise to before and my mileage actually got better!!! There are 4 provisions for mounting something on top, I would risk drilling/ riveting into the hard shell but I suppose you could as long as you use plenty of silicone with it.

Nice setup. I have been talking to Xplore Adventure Gear about some hanging storage solutions for my kitchen, rear door and front wall of the Alu Cab Canopy Camper - your tent looks like great quality. Excited to see what they come up with.

I bought a cheap boat trailer winch and mounted it in the middle of a 6" diameter tree I had cut down. Then I put it up between two trees to create a crude "H" shaped hoisting point. Then with ratchet straps around the tent and the push of a button I can drive under it and raise and lower my rooftop tent on and off my Lexus GX anytime I want without busting a nut. Sounds like a lot of work but it wasn't really and it works awesome. Maybe you can even use some snatch blocks and your winch or something to do the same.

In my previous garage I had a pulley system with an ATV winch. But I haven’t had a chance yet to build a new one for this new garage so we muscled it instead.

That tent is amazing it looks like have plenty of room and the LED with the solar panel is a great feature... only one thing... I was pushing for her ,that was a moment but everything was fine One question your rack, where did you get? it it looks like it could works with a soft roof and looks solid Thanks for sharing 👍🏻great video like always
@NorthBoundExpeditions3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. The LED and the solar panel are not directly related to each other, the solar just charges my dual. Battery system which runs all my accessories. The rack is the gobi stealth. I bought it years ago through northridge4x4. It does work with a soft top but it was flapping against the rack at highway speeds.

Can you store sleeping bags or blankets inside when closed? Also, when it opens, would the shell interfere with an awning mounted on drivers side?

No unfortunately you can’t in this one. That’s one of its disadvantages

Hey Virgil and Chantal 😀, my wife and I are looking to buy the same one but the plastic version.. on their website it’s says the mattress is 4cm.. Its seems to be very thin. What your taught about the mattress .. It is comfy or not? Thanks 😊
@NorthBoundExpeditions3 жыл бұрын
It’s a little on the firm side for sure. But with a nice sleeping bag or mattress topper or foam you will be more than fine.
