They are! Tales of Destiny 2 is going to come out, and there is a teaser trailer on KZbin. Rebirth is being done by a separate group, and it's only available through the discord. I have yet to infiltrate.

Update: StorMyu is working on it. They will answer questions on discord. Their last update was six days ago, so it is still being worked on, though they don't look ahead, so no percentage of completion is given. As for Destiny 2, Lumina Tales is 75% of the way done with translations, and 20% done with editing.

Really excited for this! I'm somebody who really misses the 2D Tales games. The 3D ones are fine, but I find the pacing to be a little slower, and the games usually feel a little more restrictive both in exploration and combat. I've already devoured every older tales game, so this is a godsend.

I’ve been wanting to play this for a few years now! I got into the “Tales” series pretty late, but had went back and played the original PS1 release but when I saw the PS2 version, and the fact that it was untranslated, I was sooooo jealous! LOL! So glad that it has finally been translated!!!

This makes me remember the Tales of Graces Spanish translation for the Wii, at the time, I think there was not even an English translation existed and some dedicated fans gave us spanish speakers the Spanish Wii patch

I've never actually gotten to at the original Tales of Destiny, and I've always kind of held out hope that Bandai Namco would rerelease more games from the Tales series, but apparently they don't want to do so. Birthday is coming up and this is the perfect birthday gift.. I swear I had given up on this ever being translated.. but every so often I would Google tod translation patch just to see if by chance their was one.. so its really shocking how this came out of nowhere or that it slipped by me.

I remember the biggest translator for tales of games, absolute zero, said about 2 to 3 years ago that he wouldn't translate anymore because he felt that bandai was going to localize the game, if not in 2018/19 in 2021 for the anniversary... well after my hopes were crushed by nothing being announced after all the memoria short films, I'm glad to see the community doing some progress again

That is an exciting fan project. It does seem helpful how you go step-by-step how to get this setup to play. I am not very tech savvy so easy to get lost. The PS1 Tales of Destiny is crazy expensive... I have 3 Tales games: Tales of Hearts R, Tales of the Abyss, and Tales of Symphonia, but haven't played hardly any of them.

I was lucky enough to find tales of eternia on the psp. For some dumb reason even though it was release in the states (as destiny2) they used that same translation for the english psp. It took 1 month to get to me but it was worth replaying and not paying $400 for it

Tales of destiny is my first love in terms of JRPG. I got this game when I was 9 years old. I was not able to finish it back then and I think today is the day I start that journey again.

Destiny was my first Tales game, too. I imported a Japanese ps2 and both the original ps1 game and ps2 remake, all for less than the going cost of the English Destiny release. I've played the DC 6 times in the last few years, it's so much fun! I really hope the rumors from leakypandy come true, I'll totally buy it again. Who's your favorite character? It is a good patch works with ESR, the only errors I find are very minor things, but the good thing is the old Japanese saves will work on this patch. I just started over so I could get the full experience.

tales of destiny was literally the second game i got when i first started playing rpgs. so, this game holds a special place in my heart. i actually still have my original copy on ps1....well, i still have all my games from the past consoles lol. i really wished they'd release tales of destiny and tales of destiny 2 here in the states.......i'd be on that shit like white on rice and a paper plate in a snow storm.

I just saw this today and it looks like they already finished it. When I tried to download the Japanese Director's Cut iso, I saw an "English Patched" version in the rom site. I wonder if there's a difference between following this vs directly downloading the English patch. Can't wait to play this after I finish Eternia.

Yep, my first Tales was Tales of Destiny and then played Eternia. Finished all the main titles released for us except Grace's and Innocence hoping a PS Vita release. Currently playing Red Dead Redemption on the PS3 but I can make space for this one on the PS2.
