I really appreciate doing a car review in english, so everybody can watch and understand and I like the choice of cars at Autogefühl. I have to say though, the extreme depth of details and the complete lack of emotions or even humour sometimes is a bit too german for me (and I am german). If you have spend a little bit of time in an english country and know a little bit about cars, the review gets boring very quickly. There is a huge amount of car channels, especially british ones where you can get an idea how to make it a bit more exciting. I bet this would boost your success. For me it is hard to watch at some points as direct translations from german into english sometimes just don't work and switching from BE to AE the whole time does not really help either. Okay maybe I am being a bit too german now but this is my impression. It is totally fine not to be a native speaker but some things could really be improved here. I hope you guys can accept this as constructive criticism as that is what it is meant to be. ...by the way, for this kind of money, I think it is a fantastic car!

i really love seat , i'd take this one any day of the week. one of my friends bought one of this... really really good car. he gave me for a little test i was suprised sound, acceleration, steering (grip), lot of space in trunk

Interior might not be the most amazing ever, but it's more than enough, especially considering the price! It's very hard to get any other car that offers this much bang for the buck. I'm ordering my Leon FR 150HP in a few months. I love it!

owning a 5dr 280 i have a slight bias here :) but a great review! i chose the standard alcantara seats and imo compared to the full leather ones fitted to a test car they feel more comfortable, im not getting lower back pain or neck ache as i did after a few hours of the test. you had the black option pack fitted too, so the wheels and black Cupra lettering would be ti-grey and chrome respectively and the rear window side spoilers would be missing. the sound system you had is an option and it looked like the satnav was the optional one also, which even though you thought wasn't state of the art, is still a more responsive system than standard and has Mirrorlink. Samsung have just partnered with SEAT so it could make that feature quite interesting. thanks :)

beim seat leon cupra wurde oft die härte des fahrwerkes bemängelt. ist das fahrwerk im vergleich zum "kurzem" hier besser geworden ?

Heinrich müller Also das Fahrwerk ist grundsätzlich gut. In der Tat ist es aber sportlicher abgestimmt als bei den vergleichbaren hausinternen Konkurrenten von VW und Skoda. Der Leon ST ist auf jeden Fall eine gute Wahl. Wer aber sehr sehr viel Wert auf Komfort legt, der ist vielleicht dann mit dem Octavia RS glücklicher! Haben wir auch ein frisches review dazu, schon gesehen? Ist auch in der Videobeschreibung verlinkt.

***** danke für die schnelle antwort. also kann man festhalten, das fahrwerk im leon ist trotz dcc und comfort modus noch härter als ein gti oder rs ohne dcc? ich hatte gehofft das man das mit dem dcc richtung eierlegende wollmilchsau regeln kann.;-). werde mir mal das rs video anschauen. hatte nur letztens irgendwo gelesen, das die bei skoda grosse probleme mit der lieferzeit haben. über ein jahr wartezeit. sind halt sehr beliebt.

Marvin Maro Thanks Marvin! Its good to have the lock as the power on the front wheels is massive. So it helps when you are accelerating out the corners. Personally, I found the Golf GTI better because it has more 'class' for me.

Hello Thomas, Two questions if you don't mind 1) How was the comfort of the ride. That is, in comfort mode is it bumpy/sporty/harsh because of the 19'' wheels. 2) How was the sound insulation from the exterior? 3) Do you know if you can fit 17'' wheels? RB.

Video Playlist Ofc you can pick 17". I would not go for the 19 ones, indeed you loose comfort. 17 or 18 is a good pick! Comfort was actually OK, but the Skoda Octavia RS is more comfortable. Sound insulation is good for me!

Very nice and thorough review. I have the Seat Leon Cupra 265 DSG in the hatchback version, and I recommend it very much. In the video the car is equipped with the Cupra Blackline, which includes different alloy rims, Cupra printed in black on the rear and the plastic spoiler on the side of the rear window. Personally I would not choose this add-on, since it makes the car look a little cheap in my opinion.

I am having a VERY difficult time choosing between this (in a full config) and the new BMW X1 25d in a mediocre config for my next car. Which would you recommend taking and why? The argument that "you have a BMW" is not sufficient. The most important aspects are comfort, driving fun, boot space, reliability and residual (resell) value after 4-5 years.

Hey Thomas! I've watched both of your reviews of the Octavia vRS Combi and this Cupra. And I can't seem to make up my mind. Me and my "other side" have been looking at the vRS for over 2 months and we almost made up our minds but I just found out about the Cupra Leon ST. I feel that the vRS is more practical - the rear seats, boot space, navigation (6.5 inches is more expensive than the 8 inch on the Skoda, atleast in Finland, also you mentioned the functionality of it), comfortability of the seats. I am worried, if I opt for the Skoda, I lose on the "fun" factor - the performance. How big is the difference between the "raw" power of the 230 hp vs the 280 hp? If you were in my shoes looking for one of the best "sleeper" cars and having a taste for the "fun" factor, yet not lose practicality over it. Which would you go for? PS: My mom said the Leon looks better. Thank You for the great reviews!

tsarnevits Hey, great that you watched both reviews and thanks for asking. Actually I think the crucial factors are: 1. Which one do you like better in design exterior/interior? 2. How much space do you need? Need more space on the rear bench -> go for the Octavia 3. How tall are you? Close to 1,90 m -> go for the Octavia. 4. How much sportiness do you appreciated and how much comfort? More comfort -> Octavia, more Sportiness -> Leon :)

***** 1. Exterior - Leon, Interior - Octavia. 2. As we are still 2 people (hopefully for a while), the rear seat space is not that necessary, it just alarmed me on the Leon case. 3. I am 1.82 and she is not a basketball player either :) 4. I appreciate sportiness and somewhat comfortability, yet she is more on the practicality side. It seems to me you can get more extras for a bit less € on the vRS. I hope one does not lose the "pressed/forced into the drivers seat" effect when pressing on the gas with the vRS. Because it sure seems to be there with the Cupra :).

Nice review. Eventhough it's a bit longer and slightly heavier it compensates with a more playful rear track, as usual on performance estates. Only thing I miss is a less politically correct acceleration shot so we can hear the pretty sound through the revs. ;)
