It is on a farm owned by Nigel McGrath, near Gulgong, New South Wales, which is 230 kilometers North West of Sydney, and nowhere near the dead heart of Australia, in fact the location gets 647.8 mm of rainfall in an average year and is high value cattle and sheep grazing country. The entire area has shale beds and this find is just the latest with the oldest 30 kilometres north-east of the town going back over a century.
