I believe this chamber was used to contain a very large beam that was used during construction. The higher block in the back prevents the beam from sliding backwards, and the three groves cut into the front were used to hold braces. It was a winch. The chamber is the housing. There's one on every side of the Pyramid, just deeper in. The exterior spiral ramp started just below it.

@@aaronwberke The scan project placed the muon detectors underneath in the entry passageway and detected that empty space above it. See an (very short) illustration of it at 3:24 in this very video. They were not aligned to scan the other 3 sides for a similar empty space.
@nickmartin168852 минут бұрын
This is a daft idea! There are no mounting points for holding down a winch and no room for anything to power it. Pulling a block up the slope of the pyramid would a) require quite a bit of man power and b) would tend the pull a beam outwards and down, not push it back. Hauling heavy blocks up a 51.5 degree slope requires MUCH more energy than hauling it up a lower angle ramp. While we can't say for sure how high any construction ramp reached, or what it's angle was, it would have been a much lower and easier angle than the pyramid's side and there is evidence a ramp was used. So why would the builders have bothered with a harder to operate winch as well? Also, why have winches on all four sides? Its extra effort to drag blocks around the base of the pyramid from the nearby quarry. If the builders used winches, they would put them on the side closest to the quarry to minimize effort.

Once more, I am in awe of your impressive brain! Almost 19 minutes of science taken from just two low res. pictures. I am wondering (and this is me just wildly speculating without any evidence) could there be a corridor leading to the void above the Grand Gallery behind the wall? Would this make sense? Guessing even more: If the Grand Gallery perhaps truly was used as some sort of internal ramp, could the space above it be simply a second ramp for the upper sections of the Pyramid? Thanks to you, I will sound so smart in my future Egypt Vlogs XD

Doesn't the lack of recesses in any other chambers demonstrate that there was no need for such props?

So the Big Void is probably a relieving chamber for the grand gallery. It's possible that it's a second grand gallery needed for construction though... and I'm shocked that there hasn't yet been a borehole to explore it.
@Batters563 сағат бұрын
My prediction: the most obvious answer is the answer: the chevron blocks were above the main entrance, a largish passage leading straight into the great pyramid. Isn’t it surprising the first time you learn those chevrons are well above the descending passage? The large white block that looks different from all its neighbours and that conforms to the stones around it is some sort of poured stone. The passage behind it is blocked up. The scan pyramids chamber is some sort of weight reliever above this space. But it was also a frequented entrance in its own right, perhaps during construction, so the cut out block is just steps where it’s in front of the plug you mention. And further more that weird cutout in the left chevron is exactly that. It was filled with “geopolymer” at the end. Remember that the well shaft wasn’t found for thousands of years because the lower entrance looked just like the walls of the tunnel and the upper was covered in masonry.

I didn't find anything except the original picture when i tried googling it, so thanks a lot, they are very interesting. I just don't understand why any major investigation involving the great pyramid takes for ever and is often done in a somewhat sneaky way without people knowing. If Z.Hawass had discovered this passage there would have already been a block removed and no doubt a photo shoot would have taken place with him inside. Oh well, i just hope i live long enough to see the inside of the big void above the grand gallery.
