You and me, both! I'm still trying to understand the real use with these. But, this is a start.

That’s a nice join; I often use joins to filter data, and anything that makes that process lighter is a win. If a user is going to delete the table column in both cases, I presume the semi join will be faster. Thanks for sharing!

YES! That's what I've been reading. The semi-join is a little quicker than an inner-join and deleting columns.

What is the difference doing the left outer join and removing the expansion column vs doing the left semi join and removing the expansion column?
@OzduSoleilDATA6 ай бұрын
If you did a left outer join, you'd end up with everyone on the left side, which is not what a semi join does. The semi join is more similar to an inner join. What would be the different between a left semi join and an inner join and removing the expansion column? Nothing. From what I've been reading, the real difference seems to be in the computing power, which would only matter for massive datasets.

Hum, but, in most cases, you want merge tables for take new informations ...or no....then semi.join...

Yes. I think most of us and in most situations, we do want the items matched.
