What is your honest opinion on litterbox training a puppy? His parents are 6lbs, so he should also be small... that's why we're doing litterbox training with paper pellets... just hoping it's the right idea?

He presents training in 7 days. Each of 7 items are commands that he believes a dog should know. They are presented in part ii of the book kzbin.infoUgkxK8-VQWpYThx4IC6MiIvb6VS1ebTzzdxq . The parts of the guideare divided: part i know your dog part ii the seven commands part iii cures for 7 behavior problems. Each chapter presents a topic, a dog's story, and a "what to do". It was written simply and you can jump from chapter to chapter to review anything as needed.

I got a puppy 17 weeks ago and this channel really helped me ride through what I call 'puppy hell' to get to where my now six month old pup is a well adjusted teenager. It was a rough ride but now I am glad I could run the videos nonstop during my anxious days of thinking "What did I get myself into?" 😉 Have fun with your puppy!

@@1_viewer the first few months are always the hardest but it's so worth it in the end. Puppy hell is a fitting name for that period lol. I've always had pups and dogs in my life buy my wife has never owned a puppy only has had grown dogs so it'll be interesting to see how she adjusts😂.

I want to cry! I’m in the process of adopting my very first puppy ever, but I am firm on insisting that everyone in my household agree on the puppy. The very first puppy we were shown looked just like this one and I instantly fell in love! But it happened too soon for my mom so she vetoed him. Waaaahhh! So now that she’s ready, I’m hoping our coordinator finds us another one just like this! I still think about that first pup….and now I see your video! Waaaaahhh! I need a puppy soooooon! I’m so excited for this series, though!

I drum it into my puppy students: catch the behaviour you want and reward it every time. I tell them to wear clothes with pockets in the house and treats in bowls around the house so that any time pup does something you like, you are able to reward him. I make sure they know that from day one, we set up the puppy for success and don't give them a chance to get it wrong. Well done Zak LOL!

I have found kindred spirits in you and Bree. I foster puppies from fly-in communities and you are so right when you say each one has a learning curve. I LOVE that you and Bree show the oopsies and flexibility it takes to work with a pup. Can you please do a series working with TWO puppies? Often fosters have to take on multiples until enough foster homes are found.

Just wanted to share a great crate trick, that I don’t see other dog trainers doing, and I can see the struggle with the lack of sleep, that may help in the future with a new puppy. Do all the normal things you do with the treats and get the puppy comfortable to the crate. *Keep the door open with the crate, and if she tries to escape quickly close the door, with a polite no, for just 2 seconds, and bring it back open. This allows the dog to mentally process what you are asking of them, and becomes a training session. They don’t feel trapped, and as they lay in their crate, and they are working on their stay. Then once puppy is relaxed after a few minutes, close the crate, so they get used to the door being closed. Then if she ever starts whining again, (take pup outside for potty break if needed) keep the door open again. Love your videos! 🐾🐶❤️

I got my puppy this summer, and you don't even know how many times I was in Bree's position, on the floor half in half out of the crate afraid to move and possibly wake the puppy that was finally asleep in her crate. :D She's 9 months now, maybe not too far off from Biscuits' age since there's the delay in production. We are working on chill out in the house, so she was hanging out with me while I watched this video. She was doing such a great job, but then Biscuits was crying in the crate and she just needed to fix it. Hmm. Dog on laptop maybe not the best thing for it.

Just finished watching your first episode in your new series. I love that you have the DIGGS crate. We bought one for our 10 month doodle when he was 9 weeks old after having an accident in the old kind of wire crate - he got his jaw stuck in the wire!!!! It was an emergency trip to the vet! He was fine just very shook up, but we immediately ordered the DIGGS, and borrowed a plastic one until it arrived. He is now almost 11 months and he LOVES his DIGGS … WE HAVE NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES with him wanting to go in it and started sleeping thru the night at 10 weeks old. We LOVE ❤️ our DIGGS

My first 24 hours with my dog was p great!! She piddled during the night because I missed a potty outing and she pooped IMMEDIATELY after breakfast, but her potty training went SUPER well because I listened to your tips and went out VERY frequently, especially during the night.

Absolutely puppies will. Even younger puppies, amongst their littermates, will resource guard. If that is something you might find difficult to deal with. Ask the breeder which pupoy has shown the least amount of RG tendencies.

I agree with the idea of getting Brie more involved. I could totally see her and biscuits working as a team right alongside you and inertia. I can fully recommend the whole - letting your dog sleep anywhere and carrying them to their bed. I can say that it definitely worked for my puppy! Within the second/third month of training he was already going into his bed and cage for naps and sleeping all by himself. Just make sure they have a comfy bed ❤️

It takes a while to readjust to having eagle eye on a puppy during the first few months -- especially after not having a puppy in a long time. Good luck. Brave = stubborn in some cases LOL good luck! It will be fun to watch -- when we brought our puppy home we brought a big teddy bear with us and let all the litter mates and mama roll all over and get their scent on it and then I put that in the crate with our puppy and that seemed to help a lot.

This Series comes at the PERFECT TIME - i have a 6 week Old pup that is gearing up to move to his forever Home in a few weeks… And even though I’ve given them a bunch of tips and tricks, I sent them the link as soon as I saw it was a puppy this time!! The only real difference is that my puppy is a singleton, so I have had to teach him all the things his siblings should, and that makes it easier to teach him other things like collar and harness ;) so the new parents get to skip that part ;)
