Shark have really upped their game with their latest offering, the new cordless upright cleaner with powered lift way, motorised pet tool and Duo Clean technology.
In this video I unbox, assembly and take a first look at this new cordless, bagless upright from the UK's fastest growing floor care brand.
I haven't had it long, but first impressions are good and I can't wait to fully test it around my home and perhaps even inside the car. Stay tuned for a full demo soon and a special holiday video when we'll find out how well this Shark cleans up the holiday cottage by the sea I'll be staying in shortly.

This is revolutionary design. It solves the biggest problem what I have with the stick type vacuums. Too much weight for the hand. Onboard hose and true upright figuration is absolutely excellent. I hope Dyson is going to make something similar.

Sweet little ride you've got there Roger.They may not be of the highest quality but they sure are great innovators. As if the lift-a-way feature wasn't enough of a breakthrough they've gone and made it cordless. It must be incredibly flexible and freeing in use.

I have no quality issues with Shark. I know some components are prone to fail like the internal hose in the power nozzle but I’m sure Shark have looked into this. It has a five year guarantee so if the hose in the nozzle does spilt, I expect them to replace it. Because I never use the same vacuum constantly and always maintain the ones I do, I can’t comment on any reliability issues. There are far worse machines out there for quality. Models from Hoover and Vax spring to mind.

Very interesting. I quite like the battery design. It looks like it will make a great conversation starter while it's in the caddy charging. I wonder if Shark maybe have found the recipe for cordless vacuums with this machine. Many have tried to enter the "full-sized" upright replacement market as we know, but nobody has really excelled, in my opinion, as they don't have the same level of performance as a corded machine.

@MylesV
@MylesV 4 жыл бұрын
It's sort of similar. The Westinghouse Unplugged had a much larger battery though, and it had to be charged in a separate charging base outside of the machine. The Shark can be charged in a charging dock like the Unplugged, or you can plug the charge cable into the machine itself. I remember the charger for the Unplugged had a very loud cooling fan built into it.

I wonder how well dirt is removed when you approach a wall head on. In some situations, you can not clean along a baseboard (skirting board) by passing the nozzle sideways along the edge. In these cases, you are forced to direct the nozzle head on towards the wall. The main brush roller seems set back to far from the front edge with these Duos, don’t you think? Would be interesting to see a “head on” test of dirt accumulated up a against a skirting board. But I must say I like the new refined design of the nozzle.

Not fair. Why SG dont have lightweight corded and cordless with / without motorised head. The stick type form factor is very hard to push on both carpets and hard floors. I and my mum hsve long hair. If we use the straight suction directly on our hard floors, will not remove the deep down dirt from the grout in between the tiles. As for wooden floors no, only tiles floors

Although you said that those with brushroll is better for carpets but not mine. I also prefer to use a corded with straight suction on my carpets with the brush down. I hsve a similar commercial with the nozzle that look alike to the delicated hard floor nozzle for both carpets and hard floor. The brushes from the nozzle is very stiff and not gentle to those floors that is not like my tiles. Wooden and all those floors

You can always buy on a monthly plan as well. You can get the vacuum, a steam mop, a small handheld vacuum and a complete cleaning kit for eight £70 monthly payments. It makes it a lot more affordable and there is no interest. You can leave out the other additions and it's 7 of £49.99. @ibaisaic 5 жыл бұрын
If you are extremely allergic to dust, you should get a bagged vacuum such as a Miele.
@ultrakwon
@ultrakwon 5 жыл бұрын
@@ibaisaic Contrary to popular believe, the number one thing that I wanna know with these reviews is not the battery life or the suction power. It's the part where you empty the goshdarn dust bin. I have a V6 Absolute, and I'm perfectly satisfied with it, except for the part where you have to manually empty the dust bin. The dust bin is stuck to the entire vacuum on the cordless Dyson models, so when you open the lid to empty it, it causes a plume of dust to rise and coat the entire vacuum. This is gross enough as it is, but it's not all. The Dyson's and most cordless vacuums have their engine/filter inside the dust bin, so it entangles lint and hair. You could try pounding it out, which, again, because the bin is stuck to the entire vacuum, is precarious and unwieldy. You don't wanna break the thing, and also, every time you shake it or rattle it to dislodge the clumps of lint and hair, it just continues to disseminate dust everywhere, including the vacuum and your clothes. Ultimately, you need to get a stick to manually dislodge the clusters of lint between the motor/filter inside the bin. I always do this outside, because it's an unmitigated disaster as it is, and I'll pick at the lint with a twig. Again, very precarious operation. The whole procedure generally takes me around 20-30 minutes. There's the emptying the bin, and then there's the clean-up afterward. I have to give the vacuum a thorough wipe down, wash up, change clothes, etc. For all the convenience of a cordless, this is the payback, and for me, it's not worth it. The most ergonomic bin I've been able to find for the cordless is the ION P50 by Shark, because the dust bin detaches like a corded vacuum. It also had lids that open both ways and there's no motor/filter permanently housed inside the bin to create crevices that'll get clogged with lint. The only concern with it is that it has the idiotic dual brush bar technology, where the vacuum is simultaneously spinning both the hardwood + carpet roller at all times. So when you switch over to hardwood, the carpet roller's stiff bristles are still engaged, and it's gonna scratch up the hardwood over time. The perfect vacuum for me that I've found is still Dyson's cordless. It's extremely light and convenient, but the BAGLESS dust bin is a deal breaker. As for your recommendation of the Miele, I notice they're all canister vacs, which are more suitable for the garage. Personally, I don't like the canister vacs for indoor use (unless it's the basement), because not only do you have to deal with the cord, but you also have to deal with the canister that also gets in the way. I only have two hands: one to hold the hose, and one to clear the cord. I'd need four hands like Kintaro for a canister vac; two more to carry the canister and another to move around obstacles in the way.
@ibaisaic

The dirt bin does detach from the Dyson v6, you just need to click the bin-release switch twice when emptying. I think dyson has a video on their channel which shows it. Although, if you have serious allergies, then I'd agree with Roger -- if you want a nice upright bagged cleaner which isn't bulky, then I highly recommend checking out a Sebo Felix, there's a review of it on this channel

Had mine just over the 2 years and it fell apart. Replaced the head unit for £80 and the dust bin needed replaced also at more expense. Then a couple of months later the power buttons fell off the handle and would need to spend another £40 to replace that too. Around £150 to replace broken parts after already paying £450 purchase price. That's Dyson v11 absolute money which I have since bought instead of repairing the shark yet again. Very disappointed with the Shark. Not even that powerful compared to the Dyson either.

The cleaner excluding battery has a five year guarantee. It should not have cost you a penny to replace any faulty parts.

@@ibaisaic bugger. Now I feel daft. Lol. Spent £120 fixing it as I thought it was a 2 year warranty. Just realized that was only for the battery. Oh well the Dyson is doing a great job anyway. Maybe contact shark and get it fixed as a back up for when the Dyson filter is wet. 😂
