That's a lot of money to spend to go straight up and then straight back down. The entire "mission" takes less than fifteen minutes, barely cracks the Karman line and doesn't really achieve much. Congrats, tourists, you just paid a mountain of money for the shortest cruise ever.

These flights have never been about the science or engineering. They're about getting rich folks to stump up the money in investment capital for what's to come next. Get them excited about space the way the nerds, engineers, physicists, chemists, astronomers and others are.
