I couldn’t make the live cast on party but watched this afterwards while casting on my bucket list knit - the Kismet. Fingering weight colorwork with yarn I’ve been dying to work on for two years. I started doing the increases wrong (purlside incs are so hard) but fixed them because it’s my bucket list knit! Thanks for the motivation to do this right!

Oh my gosh! Yes! My son asked for a Santa suit last year for Christmas and I knit it all in like 4 days but made it come with a note from Mrs. Claus! This year my son wrote a letter to Mrs. Claus instead asking for a pair of gloves to go with his suit that still fits this year!

Also I heard someone say that Wonderful Christmastime is about practicing witchcraft on the winter solstice when someone walks in the door and you have to make up a cover really fast and ever since then I can’t hear it the same way 😂

Re: pompoms....I've heard it was for sailors as they walk thru corridors on subs as the head clearance is lower and it's on their beanies Protect heads and indicate if needed to dock ur head more or not

As a middle, I like a tree with big colorful bulbs on the outside of the tree and twinkling white lights wrapped around the trunk of the tree. It's garish and I love it!

May I recommend re: Christmas music Point of Grace’s cover of Jingle Bells? It was like the one good song that came out of my church kid upbringing lol

As an eldest, I think it's whatever is traditional for your family. Personally, I'm a warm white, but I can see colorful if that's what your family had.

You are correct about the story of the pompom...but there is another story that it was to cover the yarn end...but why wouldn't it just be woven in??? Maybe the French really hated weaving in ends 😂😂😂

What's the sibling energy for a prelit tree on a rotating stand whose lights change from colored to all white? That's what we're working with up in here.

Love you both and appreciate the podcast. 1. what sibling order is pointing out social justice issues (Tim Allen is overrated and conservative and I never want to hear his name on a podcast I love). 2. In contrast is my Santa story. I was 8 and don't remember why/when I stopped believing in Santa, but that year my dad was offshore and my mom was single moming it for Christmas (overseas, so no family) and we received bicycles! I knew my mom couldn't have put together the bikes (there wasn't such a service then), so I thought Santa magically made them appear. (years later found out an ex-pat in my parent's social circle built the bikes for us and brought them over late at night.
