Awesome news. I've been on the hunt for a 5ish ft. fiberglass for blue lining here in WNC. My current Epic fastglass 3wt is a touch to long at 7ft. If this comes to production, next rod purchase for sure! Thanks for the great content and inspiring me to bushwack through the rhodo and yellowjackets to these amazing locations!

Bo thanks for watching our content. I love the 5.5 foot length. It’s perfect for a lot of small water with lots of Rhodo. We are gonna fish it hard and I really hope it makes out to other blue liners like yourself.

Why not a 2 or 1 wt of that length? I'm very interested in the length for tight conditions hook setting as well! Love your small stream innovations

You could definitely fish a 2 on it. Really it’s about having enough mass in the line to bow and arrow cast well and make short roll cast. It’s hot off the press and we will definitely fish it with both. I am excited to see how it cast in tight conditions with several different lines and most importantly how it feels with a fish on. If it’s anything like the 6.5 and 7.5 foot S glass it’s gonna be amazing.

momentum is mass x velocity. force is mass x acceleration. The important thing here is mass. a zero weight or 1 weight fly line has little mass and must have velocity to give it momentum. You dont have a lit of time to cast a short distance, so we need some extra mass (fly line) to make it happen. Thats my scientific answer as the designer. In addition, its hard to roll cast a fly with a line that weights almost nothing. I find a 3 weight to be a nice balance. 2 weight is good too. JP
