Messing with the files can actually let you get the Sonic map's texture/behavior pack in the base game, but, as they are made for the map, they both break considerably outside of it.

Yup, I have cracked the maps in the past and extracted the resource and behavior packs to use on my personal worlds. It can be very janky though as you said, it was not made for a personal world.

@Kcoolthegamerr I would have assumed Template Worlds would have encrypted files since you can't export it, through natural means, and it is Gamemode One's intellectual property. Of course them sharing it does mean they probably don't care as long as you're not monetising it

8:40 I believe the End is supposed to represent Cyberspace from Sonic Frontiers, mainly because the Ender Dragon is retextured to look like Wyvern, the second Titan Boss from the same game

The ender dragon is a combination of Supreme and Wyvern with Eggman and Sage controlling it

It looks like it uses variated textures. You can use it in your own packs too, it's a built in feature for bedrock texture packs, it allows you to use multiple textures for a single block, and it picks a random texture from that list. You can also change the models for mobs in bedrock texture packs, so the sheep would still have the same hitbox, but with a different model

You can also add and remove animations for mobs using only the resource packs as well.

8:50 Seems like The End is supposed to be a combination of Null Space from Sonic Forces and Cyberspace from Sonic Frontiers. It looks pretty cool tho. Endermen were changed, they are now soldiers (normal enemies) from Frontiers. The Ender Dragon was also changed, it is something similar to the Frontiers' 2nd Titan but it has the looks of something Eggman would create. Eggman and Sage are also sitting on it.

The end and Nether always have problems in texture packs unless the source material has a space or hellish landscap

I honestly do not like how Gamemode One handled The Nether for the _Sonic_ texture pack, considering that the franchise already had great lava-themed stages like Lava Reef, Red Mountain, and Crisis City. My guess is that they were trying to go for something that might bring to mind Chemical Plant, hence the purple lava mimicking the purple water from that stage. I still love that the Ender Dragon is now the Wyvern from _Sonic Frontiers!_

The end portal makes me think of the glitchy effects in frontiers, that with the ender dragon being turned into a boss from the game along with the ender man, and the blue ice makes me think of sonic 3s ice cap

All of the armor sets are references, the iron set is mecha sonic from death egg from sonic 2, The diamond armor is a Gizoid from sonic battle/ sonic advance 3, the netherite armor is a reference to the soldiers in the overworld of sonic frontiers, i wish i knew the other references. but the slime is from eggmans mean bean machine, and the bats are definitely from sonic adventure 2

The squids are Octus from sonic 2, dolphins are Jawz from hydrocity zone silverfish are technisqeeks from flying battery zone, spiders are grabbers from chemical plant zone, cave spiders are skorp from sandopolis zone, illagers are egg pawns, elder guardians are rexon from hilltop zone, endermites are dreamcast controllers, piglins are echidna tribe members, axolotls are seals from sonic adventure the warden is chaos with tech upgrades? if you can believe it the frogs are froggy, Ghasts are nebula from sky chase zone, blazes are orbonauts, ravengers are rhino bots from angel island zone, iron golem is e123 omega and the wither is mecha sonic from sonic 3 and knuckles. I am such a creature. please let me know all of the other references so i can help explain them to my non sonic playing friends on my smp

in the british series sonic the comic yes there is a cow. it's one of the animals that pops out of the badniks (what robotnik/eggman's robots are called for people who didn't know)

I like using True Realism HD for the swaying foliage and realistic sky ,mist effect of shaders as we can't have them on console or I switch and use Full of Life for real sky , moon ect and clear bright colours,the Crimson forest is a lovely Crimson red and Warped forest is a good blue green shade ,, ores as in diamond are clearer to notice nice large light blue blobs in it..

Looks like fun, in a silly way. Same with THICC. The important thing to me is being able to tell the blocks apart. I was really bummed when copper came out -- so much like iron, but with the newer revisions iron ore really pops out, even two chunks away. I didn't play side-scrolling games, so the characters don't hold that nostalgia, but cute is cute. Still probably won't pay real money for this one either.

Man I've missed this series. Would be really cool if you reviewed more texture packs Toycat. Even if just 1 a month, I'd love to hear your opinions on so many Texture Packs on the marketplace. There are so many now that it's hard to choose which one to buy. On Legacy Console Edition, people had the ability to check out Texture Packs fully for free. However, on Bedrock, they didn't and still don't, so your reviews really helped out a lot of players, including myself. I've bought the Chroma Hills texture pack because of your review, and I never regretted it. The Sonic Texture Pack looks fun

it’s cute, but it’s also too little, too late AND i really don’t see that many people using it outside of sonic fans 1) with money 2) who haven’t made a bedrock world yet most of the conversions seem fine but it’s still different enough that it could seriously mess up the look of some pre-existing builds, most players faced with that dilemma aren’t going to readjust everything so it looks okay with their new textures (that they would then feel like they have to stick with)

I have to say, I don't like the look of this pack. I don't think Gamemode 9 was successful with a lot of what they tried to do. I like a lot of the mob changes, I think those work, but things like making pork chops into chili dogs or pistons into springs (???) just leave a bad taste in my mouth. Even though I as a megafan can recognize that the Nether is supposed to be a Sonic CD Bad Future somehow filled by ancient Knuckles Clan Echidnas, I think they should have stuck with trying to make the materials match directly with similar materials in the Sonic world, like making the Nether Rack look like Red Mountain or Lava Reef textures. As it is it's trying so hard to turn Minecraft into Sonic when it should be trying to do that through its texture's art direction alone, while leaving the materials as recognizably Minecraft as possible, using direct Sonic textures only where it makes sense. It just doesn't feel like Sonic, it feels like people trying to blanket reskin the game instead of letting people built their own Bad Futures with the texture pack - or even building it themselves with an actual custom Sonic survival map. And it really sucks that it ends up this way! You can tell there's some megafans who worked on the project. the Warden is an Artificial Chaos, the Trader Lama is actually a wagon version of the Chao Black Market, one of the paintings is Cream the Rabbit and her WHOLE family, Gemerl and Chocola included. I didn't enjoy the original Sonic pack either, and I think its character skins don't look anything like they should, even this new one at least lets some of the mobs look more like Sonic, I think it has the same shortcomings. I'm going to assume that the chances at getting another Sonic texture pack with a mashup world included are zero, and this is it. And that makes me really sad because It's something I've dreamed about having for years, and now that it's here, i can't say it's anything I would have ever hoped it would be.
