Canon started „EOS Webcam Utility Beta“ for using some cameras as webcam too 😉 I‘ve tried it with my 6D MK II and it‘s really good if you are in your home-office, especially right now I use it a lot for meetings and calls.

The built-in audio is surprisingly good. I am impressed! A 1" sensor makes a ton of sense for video because you can still blur out the background while having some flexibility to move back and forth in the frame without losing focus. Micro Four Thirds is pretty good for that as well. With current firmware, my Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II is actually a killer vlogging camera. I think full-frame vlogging is kind of silly.

You can't put ND filters on it though :( An auto ND filter like in cinema cameras would be pretty cool (if that was even possible in compact cameras) That handle thing looks 🔥🔥 though!

Your video is just under 15min but it got interupted by adds 4 times. (+ the extra one before your video starts playing) This is getting out of hand. I don't know how long I will keep on clicking to skip the adds instead of skip the video. I love your videos... but not that much.

Thank you for the honest review! I love the stabilisation and autofocus + defocus that you demonstrated. I've seen a video of this Sony ZV-1 in night/low light footage with a gimbal and it's pretty impressive for its size.

I've gotten used to a wider field of view so that'll probably be the main downside for me but the Mic is a really big step up. A lot of people will get it for that Mic. Including me.

Bigger problem for 1" sensors is newer phones have main sensors close to 1" with built in OIS. Even alot of phone selfie cameras can film in 4k now. If you're worried about stabilization, you can buy a DJI Osmo Mobile 3 for basically the same price as that handle & get better stabilization than even what Active mode gives you on this camera

The Macronical I don’t believe there are any phone cameras currently with a sensor even close to 1”. Typically a nice phone sensor is 1/4” to 1/5”. You’d physically have to incorporate a large protruding lens to take advantage of a 1” sensor in a phone. For example, my older Sony RX100 V destroys my iPhone 11 in pure image quality.

I haven't worked out why phones don't overheat when filming 4k / 8k but compact cameras tend to burn up. not sure if its the processor or lack of ram... who knows.. needs to be resolved as it is an issue across most cameras in excessive heat (25+) which stops them from being true utilitarian.

I think the BIG mistake they made was the 'Wide' focal length is too damn tight! Should have been 18mmx70mm...24mm is too close-up!...especially when you're filming at arms length! Looking at you makes me feel, I'm uncomfortable too close! Major Error imo!

Hi, what do you think is the best setting for someone that makes build and how to videos on KZbin are? I record with a lot of hand and body movement and I want the shots to look clear without the camera going crazing on trying to focus in and out on my movements. Sonys menus are way smarter than canons (I switched from canon to sony).. that's not the problem.. the problem is the overheating.. 4k overheating is so unpredictable & not dependant on how hot the weather is. they make some real good cameras but the over heating & dare I mention the awful screens kill me!

I think those geese are unofficially the channel mascot lol but anyway feature wise I'm not seeing anything come out if this that my galaxy s20 plus can't do other than the great lowlight and to me great lowlight isn't worth that price point right now. And if it over heats easy it would never make it in Orlando. I have to keep a slurpee cup of ice water with me when using my gopro to submerge it when it burns up but I don't think that trick would with the point and shoot.

For me the deal breaker of this camera to vlog with is the lens, compare to the RX100 lets say. Too bad it isn’t wider, especially since it is marketed to be a vlog camera. Many if not all of the selfie shots, Matti’s head is cropped. Yes there are new beneficial features compared to the RX100, but Sony left out an important feature that matters for making outstanding vlog. Perhaps we will be seeing a magnetic wide angle adapter for this camera very soon? 😅

Late to the video by 2y, but I'm considering adding one of these to my gear kit. I very much enjoy your vids, but was annoyed by the 'I'd never use this but ...' language. Comes off as I'm-too-pro-and-reviewed-this-just-for-clicks. The ZV1 is the evolution of the RX100 series, and for a 1" sensor camera, it does a pretty great job. The 3-capsule mic is undoubtedly a mid-side mic arrangement, which is a way to give a mono-compatible 'stereo' image to directional sound. The ZV1 is sharper in 1080p than the APSC sensor equipped ZVE10. Glad the f1.8 lens is back, though I also like the RX100M7's 200mm reach. Compromises need to be made :) I like small gear, and the 1" sensor can happily supply social content or streaming content. Thanks for reviewing!

Audio is actually pretty good (listened with headphones on). No wind rumble whatsoever. It's a little tinny (cutting out the lower frequencies) but 100x better than other on-board mics I've dealt with.
