IRO springs are the softest springs in the market for 3" lift but still way too stiff. Can't offroad with them and even on bumpy streets are rough. Only time they are good when you drive on the highway. They say these springs are 180 lb but many people including me believe they are 200 lb springs. The rear springs are perfect because Jeep rear springs are way too soft. But the front ones are the problem. I kept the IRO rear springs, but I throw away the front IRO springs and reinstalled the oem front springs with a 3" spacer to get the perfect ride.

Will you keep your shock absorbers ? I was wondering if they would become too short next time you will be flexing your way with the WJ... I can't believe how smooth it was for you to change your springs ! Great job !
@TylerPotter2 жыл бұрын
I have extended my front shocks with bar pin eliminators but the rear shocks originally for a 2in lift are probably getting to the point where they will limit my down travel. More parts to buy I guess! lol Thanks for the view!

Going to do the cheap lift on mine, is it worth it to replace the 20 year old stock springs with new (OE size) ones? just leave the original?

Hello Tyler. I have a 2003 WJ with a 2” rough country lift. I have been battling death wobble for months now. The entire front end is completely brand new. New Tie rods and sleeve, new track bar, hubs, ball joints, then I got an alignment. The wobble was better but still not 100%. Then I did control arms, new bushings, stabilizer, and went with a rough country adjustable track bar and the wobble got bad again. I don’t want to spend another $150 on an alignment if there’s something else I could be missing. I’m at a loss right now and could use some help. Thank you in advance!

I would be interested to know the condition of the tires and balance, condition of the steering damper and how much caster the front suspension has per it's last alignment.

Subbed…have a silver ‘02 Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 in mint condition and will lift it soon. I know this vid is a year old now but have an off-beat question…I’ve used Penetrol on my front/rear bumper/side plastic panels and it’s brought the faded plastic back pretty good. What did you do to yours on this specific burgundy GC?…that’s a good looking, rich dark color. Appreciate any info.

This jeep has a weird plastic die on it but I have found that is isn't very durable if it is knocked in to.

Hi tyler is this a jeep limited with quadra drive.? im looking to lift mine a 2001 jeep grand cherokee 4x4 limited but everyone is saying lift kits wont work bc of the front drive shaft issue.. Been watching yours videos so far an learned alot with issues im having death wobble an all..
@TylerPotter5 ай бұрын
The front drive shaft issue is due to the CV style drive shaft on some of the WJ's. You would be totally fine lifting a CV drive shaft WJ up to about 2 inches with the cv shaft. Any taller and you need to be looking into swapping to a u-joint style drive shaft.
@MeadowShreder4 Жыл бұрын
I like the set up looking to do something similar. Do you think if you would if went with the 3 inch iron rock springs instead your 2 inch lift shocks would of been fine? Technically you would of been about the same height correct?
@TylerPotter Жыл бұрын
You are totally correct. The 3in springs from iron rock would be a awesome choice. I really like the way mine rides with the IRO springs. Thanks the view!

Tyler, at what point do you need coil spring retainers like the ones offered by Iron Rock? I've seen a lot of videos where the front coil springs pop out while offroading. Are the 4" subject to popping out? Thx for the new video.
@TylerPotter2 жыл бұрын
It all depends on shock extended length, I think with my current shocks I won't have a problem but once I add longer shocks it could come into play, we will see next time we go off-road if one of my springs passes me on the trail! lol Thanks for the view!
@karloz73862 жыл бұрын
Are you still running the stock shocks ? Because I want to run a set of 2.5 inch springs and a set of those spacers like you run on your wj will the stock shocks work with the 2.5 inch spring and 2inch spacer ?
@TylerPotter2 жыл бұрын
No you would defiantly need longer shocks with a 2.5in spring and a 2in spacer. We have good luck with Bilstein shocks on ours. Thanks for the view!

Tyler, help me out. I want to purchase a Grand Cherokee (2010-2013). Car wizard says to avoid 3.6L Pentastar V6 like the plague. I'm a bit worried about mpg in the V8. Which would you pick?
@TylerPotter2 жыл бұрын
I really wouldn't be worried about 3.6's, yes we do replace rocker arms for getting worn and making noise and I guess it is easy for me to say since I can personally replace them but I wouldn't be scared of the 3.6. Though I would be looking for a 2014+ so I could get the 8 speed transmission. The 8 speed will make the 3.6 feel more powerful and get better gas mileage. I'm not sure if there is a big price difference for the 2010-2013 and the 2014+'s? The older NAG1 transmission is still a great transmission but the ZF 8 speed is just awesome. The V8 is fun and powerful but like you said will drink the fuel faster. Thanks for the view!
@ryanbentley682 жыл бұрын
Hi did you need to add a new track bar and shock's?
@TylerPotter2 жыл бұрын
This Jeep already has a JKS adjustable front track bar installed but yes on a WJ anything over 2 inches of lift would benefit from a adjustable track bar. I had already had 2in lift shocks installed but also had to replace the shocks for 4in lift shocks as they were slightly too short. Thanks for the view!
