I mean, those blue markings simply distinguish the 501st trooper as either a veteran or an officer within the legion, so he very well could be an LT. 501st troopers with these markings could simply be a private who's been in the unit long enough to earn his markings, they could be a sergeant like Coric or Hez, or they could even be a lieutenant or a captain possibly. The 501st completely dropped the rank markings for all clones, so no 501st trooper would have the rank dots unless they specifically added them to their armor like Sergeant Kano did.

The old 332nd helmet looks rough next to this one. I really like this shade of blue on the phase 1. I just like it more than the screen accurate lieutenant teel, even on the old lieutenant fig. Picking this set up this week once my car is repaired.

Not sure if you noticed, but in addition to the two horizontal black stripes on the front chest armor being painted, they also painted the vertical black indents on the BACK of the helmets, which I believe is a first for any Clone Trooper. I checked a handful of my figures on the shelf and all of them are plain white in the vertical indent when all along they should’ve been painted black (I believe). Anyway, just when we go on and on about how Hasbro has been cutting back on paint apps they go and surprise us with these details. So inconsistent….🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm so pumped for that Phase 1 and the 332nd is a worthy upgrade. Too bad their blues won't match up with Appo's, but I feel that's totally on Lucasfilm not keeping the live-action 501st blue consistent across all the Disney+ shows. Great review, Nate!

That’s true but I feel like Hasbro should be able to have some control over the colors (not that ANY of the 501st figures actually 100% match) but still Appo completely sticks out against the rest. 8:55 That is not a 501st lieutenant, as the 501st do not use rank markings, that is a regular ealy war lieutenant that is not specific to one unit. Yes, he should have a much lighter shade of blue to look more accurate, but that's just a case of Hasbro messing up, the darker blue on the LT doesn't mean he's part of the 501st.

I'd definitely take you to court on this. The figure isn't a Lieutenant at all. It's a Phase I 501st grunt. I highly doubt Anakin was charging into battle with hundreds of nothing but Lieutenants. If it was meant to be a Lieu, he'd have the dots as seen in AOTC. -Justin

@OutOfTheBasement No, I know the phase 1 501st trooper isn't a lieutenant as he lacks the rank dots, and the fin stripe doesn't connect to the black brow line. I'm talking about the figure to his left (the Walgreens LT), which you referred to as a 501st lieutenant, which isn't accurate as the 501st do not use the basic lieutenant markings in their ranks.

Just so you know, the shorter DC blaster is the DC-15 carbine and the longer one is the DC-15 rifle, so you don't have to keep calling them the shorter and longer blasters. Also, the markings on the phase 1 denote that a trooper is either a veteran or an officer of the legion. So this clone could very well be a lieutenant within the 501st, but there is nothing to specifically show that because the 501st completely dropped the rank marks by the time of the battle of Hiseen.

Still no way of ordering this two pack ?? Well that sucks big bulldogs, it does. My second set arrived this morning. I honestly can't afford to get any more, but two of each is good enough though. I'm sorry that they aren't available to you, I hope you can get them eventually. I never got the original 332nds Ahsoka's clones when Walmart had them back in 2020 I think. 🤔 And I worked for Walmart at the time. Our store never received them that I saw. So I'm glad I got the opportunity to pick two of them up. I like the original clones with blue on them. Even if the package says lieutenant he's a 501'st in type one armor.

I never got the 332 either. I came to find Internet purchases and on line stores just after that cw wave released and they'd all sold out everywhere, immediately. I'm desperately trying to get my missing 11 pree-kwell figures now. I grabbed padawan Anakin/Jedi Obi on Sunday and Kit Fisto today, but combined they were over £140, which I can't really afford either. I'm now hoping these clone 2 pacs do come in May now, otherwise I've got problems.

Hello Nate thanks for sharing your thoughts on the new Target Clone two pack. I couldn't order these figures when they were $25 each but did get my first when they were $45 this past Saturday. My second two pack was arriving Wednesday, but I was just notified that it will arrive today (Monday) by US Mail 📬. I wasn't able to get the original Ahsoka 332nd Troopers, and I was working for Walmart. Those figures never arrived at my store they were never available when I checked the Wallie World web site. And I never bought that Lieutenant figure from Walgreens. I also don't care for the chipped paint on clean troops. Here's the explanation for why the paint is roughed up but not the armor: let's assume the armor is relatively impact and scratch resistant. However, the paint is not. The paint is not applied at the factory; the troops do this themselves once they are assigned to a specific clone legion. Therefore, it stands to reason that the paint would get scratched up as the armor is stored or worn in training and/or combat but the actual armor composite itself would remain "clean". Until it takes a blaster bolt.

But no dirt on the boots or legs is hard to believe. Even in a training environment there would be SOME dirt on the armor. I don’t see clones cleaning their armor and not touching up the paint as well. -Nate

This set is okay I guess. Anyone else have really loose shoulder joints on these? Mine are both so loose they can’t hold pose when the arms are up high enough. Not a huge deal because they are just random clones but just curious how wide spread the issue is. I’m having trouble getting used to the larger helmet on the p1. Maybe more “realistic” but looks odd to me. It’s stretched front to back and side to side compared to the older figs. I still have higher hopes for these clone 2 packs to get us some clones we don’t have- 212th airborne, Kashyyk scouts, galactic marines.

The joints are pretty tight on my copies. I haven’t opened my 3rd set but the first two are good. I definitely agree with you though, I really want to see some never been done clones soon and if Yaks latest rumors are true then we should be getting that sort of thing very soon. Both are fantastic updates on that newest body. I've said it before but I like the removable helmets, csps ets on action figs. The Appo fig's shade of blue seems closer to a phase 1 Lieutenant.

I think with the right engineering an alt helmet could still have the same effect. The TVC figures with alt helmet heads look great when you have them posed in the figures hand. The peg even gives them a little something extra to grip on. Thanks for watching Jonathan! -Nate
