Gryphonzwing because ducks have arms instead of wings? Ducklett is a duck. Psyduck is a kappa that removed the turtle aspects and has zero resemblance to a duck outside of its bill and aquatic nature, both of which are things shared with platypuses (which look much more like Psyduck than any duck does)

Out of the 3 Alolan starters, I would go for rollet because, Puplio is a seal and I do like seals but it evolves into something I don't like and Litten evolves into a ripped cat thing and I'm not that kind of person plus I'm not a cat person. Also I would go for Rollet because it evolves into a archer bird and I think that's cool.

+Adanan Warsame There's no such thing as hype with pokemon games. There doesnt need to be. The fans are already giddy just knowing a new game will exist. Starting a new pokemon game is one of the best feelings in the world. The 'hype' is a natural byproduct of the existence of the knowledge of a game. I can see how people might be confused because there's so much hype around certain games. But the reality is, that's artificial hype. Those games are attempting to re-create in a lab what pokemon has naturally. It is hype, there was no hype before pokemon. And anything not pokemon is just a pale imitation, the false artificial hype making it look like the fan excitement for the pokemon games is just another form, when it's not. its the source.

Charizard actually is a lizard. A: Not a Dragon-Type(until it Mega Evolves, but that's MEGA Charizard X, not Charizard) B: Charizard's name derives from Char, and Lizard. Even his Japanese name, Lizardon is Lizard, and Don, which is Ancient Greek for Tooth. I mean, Lizardon can also be derived from Lizard and Dragon, and he is in the Dragon Egg Group, but the Dragon Egg Group contains reptilian Pokémon in general, not just Dragons(i.e.: It includes Dragons like Druddigon, and then Pokémon like Scrafty, which is a lizard. Actually I'm currently working on Gen VII Fakemon Starters myself. I have a Tucan/Pteradon Grass Starter line called The concept of the theme was the Canopy tree leaves that exist in a tropical region and tropical birds are located in these tree tops. Since most Grass starter eventually adopt dinosaur traits a Pteradon is the perfect analogy to combine with. Next I have a Tiger Fire Starter line. Which is perfect considering not only a lack of Tiger themed Pokemon, but also it coincides with the similarities the Fire Starters have towards animals of the chinese zodiac. With the duality of the stripes this could be our first ever Fire/Dark Starter. Plus thinking of an awesome blue flame White Tiger shiny for this. Finally I have a idea for a Mosquito Water Starter. An avenue they messed up with Masquerrain. This is actually an interesting dynamic since Bug types are usually some of the earliest Pokemon in the game. But why not have a more reliable Bug Pokemon at the start be your Starter Poke. It fits with the regional tropical climate; and It's an interesting type that brings a new popularity on such an underrated type.

+bigfatcarp93 Flying is immune to ground. It is not super effective against it. There's a difference. Not to mention ground types tend to learn rock-type moves as well so it's just a bad matchup for flying. You could argue Dark, Psychic, and Fighting, but I see very little they can do for those in terms of starters. I feel, for a trainer's first Pokemon, sticking with the first 3 elements is better before deviating. There's just a lot more you can do with them. Plus, if there was a bug type gym early on, you're pretty screwed.

Annie Wang It's still an advantage, though, even if it's not a damage one. And it works if the Ground starter can't learn any Rock moves by level up. And sure, you can argue that it can always learn them by TM or Breeding or whatever, but by the same logic I can just teach Blastoise Blizzard and laugh while it steamrolls Venusaur.

I made my own pokemon, and my grass starters are based on bushes cut into different shapes, my water starter is a tadpole that doesn't turn into a frog, but gains claws and more tailes, and my fire starter is a pangolin that shoots steam, and shoots fire when it evolves. The fully evolved form has so much fire coming out that its just a ball of fire with a head.

I'd love to see a future game set in an Australian inspired land. The animals in Oz are so unique and of course the starters would have to be grass kola, water platypus and a fire kangaroo. I drew a couple of fakemon pokemon for this. Nine tails evolutions, a ghost/fire and a fairy/fire. Theyre have twelve tails each. one is soltails, representing the day hours, and luntails representing the night hours. luntails is based on a redtailed fox or mained wolf, while soltail is based on a fennec fox.

The fire starters so far were probably all based off of a chinese zodiac animal Charizard - Dragon; Typhlosion - Mouse; Blaziken - Rooster; Infernape - Monkey; Emboar - Boar; Dhelfox - Dog; Incineroar - Tiger I think the fire starters of future generations will most likely be based of either a hare, sheep, bull, snake or horse, since these are the animals still missing a representation. My fake fire starter is based off a hare and has insane speed and good special attack. A ram works really well too.

Some say that the fire starters are from the chinese zodiac. Charizard (dragon), Typhlosion (mouse), Blaziken (rooster), Emboar (pig), Infernape (monkey), and Delfox (dog...even though foxes are types of dogs they are way far down the line ). So thats what people say but if so all we need left is a snake, ox, rabbit, tiger, horse, sheep. It would be kinda cool to see a rabbit or snake fire starter even the tiger would be awesome but they would have to look really cool.
