Glad I picked up indomitus, but that command edition is a great starter set for anyone just starting out. That’s a fold out board like the kill team/warcry boards and a good set of scenery. I don’t think GW have released so much of a complete game in a box before for their main line (40K and AoS) It has me excited to see what they might do for a new edition of AoS.

Very very excited for third edition of AoS. But yeh I do love a bit of scenery. It’s a cool set and a cool idea. But I would still rather have indomitus overall 😁

I managed to score the Necron half of Indomitus. Tempted to pick up the Elite edition for some extra Destroyers and Warriors, but will wait for pricing.

I was able to get 2 copies of indomitus and I regret nothing. I will definitely be getting these smaller sets too. My guess is the USD prices will be 50, 80, 100. I'll be using them to bulk up my armies for different astartes chapters, and dynasties; I also will be painting them for resale

I'm new to the hobby and actually canceled my Indomitus preorder day of release because I thought I might be biting off more than I can chew with the sheer number of models(maybe I'll regret it one day, who knows). That being said, I actually think the Command Edition looks really great for someone like me who's a beginner, doesn't want to be front loaded with all Indomitus's models to build/paint, wants to be able to play small skirmish matches with friends to get the hang of the game, and have a product that feels like a complete package without using household items as terrain. Also I think I could use some of the models in a Killteam game?

the problem is that u cant even play an skirmish game with so few models, especially if you look at the space marines side, where u dont even have a full 10 man unit

I've seen a lot of complaints about how the largest box doesnt have a tonne of models The terrain/board really sets up a good guide into how the game plays and, after getting my girlfriend to start AOS over lockdown, the initial model swamp is intense for a newbie

@@Kitetsu I do appreciate music in intros/transition or in painting videos. However, in videos like your where it's mostly talking it can be rather distracting. It's like trying to focus on someone's voice in an loud environment. But that's just how I feel about it.

The Command Rulebook is a cut down rulebook, 184 pages, so likely cuts out a lot of fluff. The scenery pieces are entirely new and are a blend of Sector Mechanicus, Imperialis & Ryza Pattern ruins styles and will allow for a more fluid mix of the existing sets of scenery. I'm suspecting that the two big sprues with all the missing Space Marine & Necron models might be getting released as some sort of "Expand Your Army" box sets that buyers of these starters can pick up to instantly add new models to their army, GW Did hint you'd get all the Indomnitus models more cheaply in that set then buying them separately….

There is some news, although I'm not sure how recent it is: the full Lumineth line will drop in September and it was hinted that the Khainite warband for Warcry will also come very soon (it's both in the Aelves article on Community).

I really like the new starter sets. Its great for expanding on indomitus. Im not sure if its that great for starting out as dark imperium was becouse not everyone might want terrain.(if they play at a shop for imexample instead of at home). I will probably pick one up at some point to expand on my necron and marine collection. And some terrain will be nice so I can play at home sometimes too.

Manage to get my self Indomitus Boxset even tough it was made to order. The starter box set is quite decent to start 9th edition.

Find it strange that the Recruit and Command boxes together still doesn't get you all the INDOMITUS models. They mention that the Bladeguard will be released soon, but no mention of the chaplain, ancient, judiciar or the Necron stuff that I can never remember the names of. Love the look of the terrain though!

I find it a bit strange too. Dark imperium had a lot more models than the know no fear set...... but hey the scenery looks great like you said. But then again I do have a lot of scenery at the moment 😅😅

None of these boxes have the eradicators either - as someone starting a Salamander army I find this disappointing.

Since both sets of missing models come on Single Sprues for each faction, I suspect they are going to release each sprue in it's own box as an "Expand Your Army" set, likely priced anywhere between £25-£40 IMHO. GW did say buying the LTD Ed box would work out cheaper then buying all the contents separately, so that does imply those missing sprues WILL be available at some point.

They are all easy build push fit models, at least for the armies, not sure about the Command Set Terrain, those are entirely new to everybody at this point....

The Elite one might be okay if their price isn't too bad. the other 2 and espescially the Command box is a rip-off compared to Dark Imperium. Glad I am building my Indomitus models right now instead of waiting for these mediocre boxes.

@@Kitetsu like for instance, these sets bring necrons and primaris marines. why can't they have pre-set models for each faction, so when you go through the checkout you pick two factions that you want to be included. then everyone wins in my opinion.

Honestly, that's a great idea. They just have to make sure that all faction are somewhat balanced, so you can actually use it properly.

Compared to dark imperium the command set is really underwhelming. I suspect this will cost less than dark imperium. The scenery and board doesnt really make up for lost minis

These are a real downhill from Indomitus... Got so infuriated with the hype and FOMO that I did not order a copy. Felt that i was about to "sell myself" ordering one. Somewhere between want-to-buy, and feeling manipulated and run over by all the fuzz. It is not only the many minis in Indomitus, but the idea that it is a box for grown-ups without the flimsy range sticks and cardboard stuff. Just the book and minis. They should have made it the permanent (re-)starter set, and could easily have skipped some of the new ones. Maybe GW stopped making them because they could sell the components for greater value otherwise. Why not make it a regular product? Makes me sad and adds negative emotions to the hobby. Bad psychology from GW. I like the Command edition, but am not sure I am getting the value for it. feels like downhill from now on. With Indomitus GW would (unintentionally???) halt the heroes-are-more-expensive-minis-mentality. I am buying a plastic set, not a stat block. I have really mixed feelings about this. Considering getting the full core book only.
