Glad your pleased with your purchase. Thanks for the tip regarding the seller. It sounds as if you got a great deal. I think it has a CAN motor: not DCC Ready, but a straightforward hard wire installation, if required. The BR Std 5 was based on the Stanier Black 5. The "5" denotes the BR Power Class (0 to 9, with 9 being the highest), and the "MT" denoting Mixed Traffic, meaning the power class was applicable to both freight & passenger workings. Many locos had different power classifications for freight and passenger work, one of the most notable being Flying Scotsman (7P, 6F). I think the Route Availability (ie, denoting on which lines it could run) was 7 (the lower the number, the more routes it could be used on). This was mostly dependent on the axle loading. For comparison, class 37 diesels had a RA of 7 too, which was why locos such as Stanier Black 5s, Std class 5s and the 37s were know as "go anywhere, do anything locos".
