Excellent style, I'm a rear gripper as well, but I admire how straight your arm is after the throw, I'm right handed and my arm lifts up from the shoulder during the throw. When I throw with my left arm, I'm complete straight and it looks technically right. My right arm kicks in with the elbow while drawing back and lifts up while following through, and I even didn't notice it, just recognized it while recording myself. I don't know how to fix it 😓 but I think that keeps me from being constantly accurate.

Hiya mate going through a bit of a funk with my darts at the moment. My throw is quite snatchy and it’s resulting in a lot of my darts ending up low and it just don’t feel comfortable at all. I’ve tried different grips but nothing seems to be working. My consistency is also something that has always bugged me and always put me off going to tournaments. Any advice? 😅
@StraightdartsАй бұрын
Try throwing softer but get your wrist back more. Just flick the wrist and release. It sounds like your timing has gone. This can be caused by stress, pressure, or over playing.

My dartpoint look down when im Release the Dart 🎯 i throw 1000 or more with slow mo and cant fix it 😢
@Straightdarts8 күн бұрын
Its probably the grip or elbow elbow and shoulder lift, mabe a but of both. Id have to see it, but it can be fixed, I have the same problem for a long time. :)

For rear grippers, how do i get less kick? Sometimes my darts kick so much they fall out of the board.
@Straightdarts2 ай бұрын
Lift the wirst slightly earlier, less arm and more flick. Up and over with the wrist. :)

@@Straightdarts Thanks. Are there any particular shaped dart that you’d recommend for rear grippers with this problem? Maybe rear weighted?

I tied some sting down the center of the board and keep my hand going down it. It try to split the sting.

He's not waiting just rhythm throwing
@Straightdarts2 ай бұрын
It's all rythem based, the grip is more closed, the thumb is now backwards instead if bent, elbow is lower and rather than up and over with the wrist I'm going with the Lewis or Littler style of a flat flick with a rear push to the ground on release. :)
@Chi-mix2 ай бұрын
so how many fingers are in contact with the dart?🤔
@Straightdarts2 ай бұрын
Thumb, index and the middle finger is touching lightly but comes of the dart first. :)

When you say new style of throw, do you mean grip, throwing motion, or both?

@@Straightdarts Awesome. Thanks for the info. I’ve been playing for a year and a half now and the grip is the thing I’m trying to nail down. I just recently got rid of the bent thing and have it backwards as well. Being a newbie, I find I’ll be in a good spot with my grip and then all of a sudden it’s like I forget it. Not completely forget it, but more so that’s it’s off a little bit and doesn’t feel exactly right. I’m assuming that’s common and something that comes with time
@cmsslee2 ай бұрын
@Straightdarts what do you mean by 'flat flick'? I am in the process of changing my grip and the release/follow through is proving to be the thing I'm struggling most with in terms of consistency.
@Straightdarts2 ай бұрын
@cmsslee it's when you keep the index on the back for a touch longer. Rather than the wrist lifting up and over, it almost like a stoke of the wrist and fingers get used. Watch mc lukd Littler video :)

A lot of natural talent people say that, and I was told the same thunk for years. I got better, though, regardless of poor natural ability. Glen Durrant didn't throw his first ton+ average until he was 42 years old. He played in the BDO youth. Never give up. Bristow was also banned from Sky sports for talking crap, don't listen to it.
