On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

In aviation metric and imperial is routinely used. In fact ICAO countries have clearly defined units of both metric and imperial for different situations. All pilots and air traffic controllers conform to the same standards. On top of that there is a book of standard phraseology associated with the use of differing units. Use outside of standard phraseology is forbidden. It is constantly being amended. The system works incredibly well.

In meters vs feet it's roughly a third. So 10000 meters is roughly 30000 ft. Miles vs kilometers it's 62 to 100 so it's roughly 3/5 . So 6 miles is a little less than 10 kilo meters. It's rough but close enough. Hope it helps

Flanker is more comprable to a F-15, flanker is a true multi role aircraft where as the F-16 was built more so as a light strike fighter with multi role capability which explains the quite extensive size diffrence.

Ive also seen someone posted on one of these videos that chaff is almost useless against modern radar guided missiles so many pilots opt to carry more flares.

The F-16 is an old plane technically, but so is the Su-30.

The AMRAAM-Ds would be the relevant thing here. The ability to just launch the missile and let the AWACS guide it in would be massive, especially when combined with the off-boresight launch capability. The Viper could just sit in a notch against the Flanker, let him come close in an attempt to get a lock, and then when it's in AMRAAM range the Viper could just launch, having never even turned on its own radar. At least that's the play I would go for.

I wanna see GS on the other side of this coin trying to take down the SU-30 in the viper. It’s kinda scary to think such a technically old viper can put up such a good fight in BVR. I was under the impression that the A-50 was only an AEW platform and not AEW&C like Sentry, it's why it has a C&C aircraft follow it around, it's sending data. I'll assume the C&C can transmit digital data and not just guide the aircraft manually for an intercept. No way to corroborate that info though, of course

I've been watching it for over two years now. When I see a map that is close to real combat? usually there is a deep-echelon defense on the ground with radars and surface-to-air missiles, not just airplanes. under these conditions, you will still think about where and how to cling to the ground in flight.

@GrowlingSidewinder When you double tap him at 8:15, wouldnt there be a code in the missile where 1 is leading him and one trailing? the trailing missile will have MUCH less of a speed loss. also the early missile can provide data if you went cold, result: one missile leads and tehrefore really gets him, he cranks back and the fast, energy rich missile will take over... so he can only flee into one direction or: wont know and be killed

I think the reason the AMRAAM missed you, is a bug that hasn't been fixed yet where ther AMRAAM misses low altitude targets. It definitely should have hit you. It just gave up last second

Ground clutter (idk if amraams can filter out ground clutter) but the missle couldn't find him because of the ground. Most radar missles can be defeated via humping the ground especially when you don't give guidance to the missle
