4:25 - The tall patches of grass are an improvement from Mario Maker 1. In that game, the New Super Mario Bros. U overworld theme had no tall prop, only the flowers and bushes. The tall grass was just added in this game for consistency.

frank g - The tall flowers were 2 blocks tall, the tall grass is just barely 3 blocks tall. This theme originally didn’t have a 3-high prop, so they added it for consistency (if you switched the themes, the 3-props from the other themes would disappear). Super Mario World’s overworld was also missing a 3-tall prop, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a new one in that theme, too.

Here are a few things I noticed: - The trailer shows that going up and down diagonal ramps can slow or speed up your car (that was never confirmed) - Placing objects create a ripple effect - The eraser icon has 2 different frames of animation, one for its idle icon, and one during erasing, where it rotates - The moon variants of levels (e.x anti-gravity) all have special animation transitions to begin each one (like the upside-down variant glitching out at the beginning of the level - Thwomps activate ON/OFF blocks - The Wii U sound effects have been remade (confetti is gold) - Thwomps will go in either the direction you programmed them to or the opposite direction you programmed to, so long as Mario is in one of those two directions (this may only apply to left/right moving Thwomps, not up and down ones - If two Thwomps collide, the game registers both as ground and the Thwomp(s) that are blocked by each other just stop and move back - They never showed us seesaws in NSMBwiiu style btw - At 0:33 of this video, you can see Mario and the surrounding area transform into fully 2d in the form of new animation

At 6:12, the Big Mushroom is classified as a regular item, so amiibo support might not make it in. This also means we could get the Mega Mushroom as a power-up, seeing as they’re both kinda the same.
