I think that he lost because some runick effect required that he send a card to GY or vanished and he didn't have cards in the deck. So lost for that, haven't a card in Deck and required take one.

Dont remove illusion from ur hand if your hand and Field is not good enough make sure abuse the effect of illusion while you can
