As someone who has owned several DRZ's and bought the last carbed model 2024 I praise Suzuki for updating the platform and thank you for keeping the same engine. For those complaining about lack of 6 speed, you don't need it for hooligan riding around the city, this bike is not meant for hwy riding.. it's meant to rip the streets and beat your street bike buddies sub 45 mph roads. For off-road it you could even gear down like I did to 14-44 gearing to ride more technical terrain. Great platform, thank you Suzuki.

I’ve got CRF 300l and it is definitely a lot better having 6 gears
@desertdrz3 ай бұрын
@ completely different bike and less power.. I have 6 gears in my race bike but I hardly ever use 5 and 6. It all depends where you ride. If you bought the crf as a commuter on roads above 55mph I think you bought the wrong bike but to each their own 🤷♂️

@@desertdrz I own a 2020 DRZ400 and I bought a 2024 Kawasaki KLX300 just to try it out as everyone said how much better it was because fuel injection and 6 speeds. My honest opinion is for 98% of the time I much prefer the DRZ. It is so much more fun to ride. The carbs have never given me a problem and on the freeway the KLX with its 6 speed revs higher at 70mph than my DRZ. The DRZ is so much faster and more powerful which = more of an adrenaline rush when pushed hard. The KLX literally feels like a moped after getting off the DRZ. Engine size and power is much more important to me than fuel injection and a 6th gear. The one thing I like about the KLX is it is noticeably lighter oh and 1st gear is geared lower which is good off road but not so good once I hit the streets. If I could only have one I would take my DRZ. The new one looks very interesting. I won’t sell my 2020 DRZ but may sell the KLX300 for a new DRZ so I can give it a try.

I have to say Alex, people forget about power to weight ratio and how that affects the performance of a bike. There's hardly anything extra on these that will weigh it down making them a great green laning bike that's nimble and fun to ride.
@BikeMatters2 ай бұрын
Certainly think power to weight is the crucial element on most bikes, way more than the raw power figures alone. Spot on as always, Adam!

I think these will do really well. The S in particular addresses a glaringly obvious gap in the market for a lightweight trail focussed modern bike from a trusted brand. The nearest competitor is the Honda CRF300, but that is an old platform, which has seen no real development since launch. It has less power than the DRZ, has questionable suspension, and is over priced. If this comes in at around £6,000 - I'll be considering one.

Although they did finally release a new one, and I owned a nice SuperMoto modified, which I really had fun on. In my opinion, the goal of a company should be to beat the old bike in every way lighter, faster and more tech. Too bad, they gained the weight. I’m sure once people throw lighter pipes on and modify them they will be improved and a blast! 💥

@CamJowlViewer Not sure where you are in the world but there's no price announced for Europe yet. More specifically OTR charges are a few hundred pounds in the UK so it's a negligible addition to the price tbh.

No mention if the 5-speed gearbox now has wider ratios ? I can't see if they now have a cush drive hub ? The fuel tank is way too small, yes there'll be accessory options, but I'm way past bikes that use Harley's marketing model. eg buy the bike, then you have to spend big $$$ to get it really useable.

Nice bike, bat, after 24 years from the first model we get more weight and less power, the graphics and color are a disaster, the sixth gear is missing, I hope the rear spring is stronger than on the old model. do we have to pay for traction control at 38 hp?
