Hi Iain, copied your video and left bulkhead in place just removing the mesh and metal straps, the extra movement on the seating has made a huge difference to our comfort. Many thanks.

I would love to get that nice flat cover for my never used back seats and saves some weight taking back seats out.
@bigjd2k2 жыл бұрын
Took the whole thing out of my Jimny LCV and now the seats recline nicely, and the passenger seat reclines right down, if you remove the headrest you can cover it in a blanket and carry long, bulky items the length of the cabin 😀
@stephenl10278 ай бұрын
Will you get a full 8ft timber length in, corner to corner, sitting up on the dash? I don’t have my Jimny yet and I don’t really want to turn up for a test drive with a massive 2x4

Great video! I am happy to leave mesh and bulkhead in place, as I’ll be carrying lots of dogs and only short distances. But I am considering removing the black panels as per your video and put in a wooden floor to create a few more inches of headroom for the dogs and training equipment. Any comments?

Great wee video Ian, hope to pick mine up from Falkirk within the next couple of weeks. I am just a shortarse at 5ft 7in, but reckon that I will do as you have done. With the passenger seat shoved forward and reclined back fully, should be able to carry longer items when required. Thanks for your helpful film.

I'm 5'10". Just went and tried sitting in my new LCV at the dealer. The mesh and partition will both have to go. Legroom is ok but the seat is absolutely bolt upright.

It looks the same as my sz5 but it is missing the isofix brackets. I would say you can fit rear seats to it.
@mrh550511 ай бұрын
I've taken the mesh off on mine and made a couple of brackets up to hold the bulkhead. 🙂👍

hi! i am 6.7 ft tall. do you think i can be comfortable in jimny?
@stephenl10278 ай бұрын
Hi Ian. Thanks for your video. I’m 6 foot dead do you reckon I could do a long drive in the Jimny with the bulkhead out and the seat reclined a bit? Also did you consider popping the drivers seat out and remounting the runners to take advantage of that bit of extra space?
@iles19952 жыл бұрын
If you're thinking of selling the metal bulkhead, I'm an SZ5 owner with a dog.. would love to get my hands on one of those haha. Drop me a PM!

Would you be able to install rear passenger seats?
@albertsnijders7566Ай бұрын
Will do mine too. One question though, can you still pass the yearly car inspection with your LCV Jimny without bulkhead? Or do you have to install it again before inspection?

Hi Iain. I am about to take delivery of my Jimny in a few weeks and am of a similar size to yourself. Did you do any further modifications to make the seat position more suitable? Thanks.
@timday60872 жыл бұрын
Nice video. At 6ft I've also had to take the bulkhead out of my Commercial Jimny, I just need to find a way to modify the mounting bars so that it's set back a couple of inches as I need the grill for my dog! Have you had any issues with the tyre pressure monitoring system? Apparently it's a new system which requires a tool to reset, and mine has been flashing since I got it (my car is the second car from the same dealer).

I’ve got exactly the same issue with the TPMS, its a right pain. Hopefully get it sorted soon!!
@dafydddavies92562 жыл бұрын
Brilliant Iain, I am in exactly the same position - the distance to the pedals is not such an issue its the ramrod backrest which is causing backpain. Now you have removed the mesh and bulkhead do you think reversing the wire mesh and placing it back might give me a couple of mm?
@samuelston2 жыл бұрын
I have put the solid part of the bulkhead back in with no top fixings as they have had to be removed. It sits nicely on the bottom mounts and rests on the seat, stops stuff rattling into the seat back if I have to stop suddenly.
@dafydddavies92562 жыл бұрын
@@samuelston Sounds like a plan Iain, I will give it a go - your video by the way was excellent.

I'm planning to buy one soon. Removing the bulkhead is the way to go for now. Using spacers or a customized part would be great. Especially if you can fold it or remove it easily so that you can use the passenger seat for extra space of as a bed for an adventure trip...
@bonsaika652 жыл бұрын
@@vasdaris you won't be able to use that extra space : the seat doesn't fold forward
@pim12342 жыл бұрын
How tall are you ?
@pim12342 жыл бұрын
Maybe you can move it backward with spacers and then using the original screw holes
@WreckItRolfe18 күн бұрын
It's a REAL shame the bulkhead wasn't designed to be reversed in some way. The mesh halves can be moved backwards but not the bottom plate - which also can't be fixed with the mesh moved backwards due to it affixing to the mesh when installed. Even an extra inch would have made a big difference.
@adamrussell19972 жыл бұрын
I was looking into a jimny and was about the pre order one when they went off sale, i wouldn't pay that price for it. Its £5000 more from the current facelift model when it wasreleased in that spec. Unless ur van reg it wouldn't be a problem but u should just get a hilux. Well you could just put in some land rover defender bench seats and u have seats in the back😂

6' 2" and you buy a mini off roader? 🤭 My friend is 6' 4" and during the summer months drives an MG Midget. After squeezing himself into the driver's seat he makes the car look like a toy. No matter... I presently own a 2018 impreza hatchback and have recently looked at a Jimny. Just the two seater. Would love to own one but the 6 month waiting list is completely ridiculous.
@pioneerz4502 жыл бұрын
It's incredible that this is how stuff ends up these days. A two year old Jimny wih four seats now sells for almost 160% of the list price of a brand new one. Suzuki obviously doesn't care since there is still a waiting list on the car. They're just happy about that. It's alovely car tough.

Hi mate i'm also 6.2 and it's rather uncomfortable for a long distance drive. I'm thinking to remove the bulkhead as well , did the ride comfort increase after you removed the bulkhead ?
