Teras on the Conclusion of an Age album. Been listening to them since 2011. Just solid metal and I always look forward to new stuff. Unfortunate for the Architects to lose a member and a friend but I was stoked when I heard Josh was filling in. And yes Sylosis is worth seeing live. Super cool dudes. Alex topped my brother's beer off before going on stage. Legends

Picking a favorite Sylosis song is impossible. I remember the fist song I ever heard was Fear The World and I was hooked immediately, the album Monolith was the one that really made me dive in an to this day I still can't find an album with the same production quality as that one, everything sounds immaculate. Then I went and heard the album Conclusion Of An Age and it quickly became one of my favorite albums ever along with Monolith, they're both in quite frequent rotation for me. Then I heard the album Edge Of The Earth, that one took me quite a while to get into simply because of how dense it is, it's so packed with riff after riff after riff, one song after the other and each of them having so many parts it became even exhausting trying to listen to that album at that time, now I still feel like there's a lot going on but it's much more easier to digest. Then I waited patiently for the album Dormant Heart and when the first single dropped, Mercy, I listen to it on repeat for weeks, and when the album came out I couldn't stop listening to it. I was a bit worried when Josh joined Architects because I thought Sylosis, one of my favorite bands, was just gonna end but then I Sever came out and they announced a new album and I felt so relieved and the damn album did not disappoint. This is one band I listen too very frequently and don't get tired, they're probably the only band I put on shuffle and just let whatever play. Amazing guitars, drums, vocals and a production sound I've never heard from another band. They are criminally underrated.
@benstanfill3632 жыл бұрын
The care put into the songs is so great. I love the vocals, the riffs, the drums, just everything is awesome. One thing sylosis does is that a lot of bands neglect is transitions. So many times bands just go from one part to another without any flow and sylosis is just great at it.

So sick to see how amazing they became. Sylosis were also the last gig I went to in London before covid shut everything down, couldn't have asked for a better show, Josh was a BEAST

Followed Sylosis since I found them on fuckin myspace pre Casting Shadows EP so I've a lot of favorites from their catalogue, shame the early demos and EPs arent on spotify, I'm sure I have them somewhere. The fact that theyve just been head down grinding away putting out consistant bangers with Josh just staying true to his vision, and gradually accumulating the credit they truly deserve for over 20 goddamn years blows my mind. So sad I've only got to see them a couple of times. Big shout out to the other stellar musicians that have played in Sylosis over the years. Josh is obviously the mastermind but there have been so many underrated guys alongside him.

"Our first singer did it" Its sad they dont talk about each other anymore or can even name drop each other. I know it ended less than ideal but Jamie Graham and Josh middleton combo was fucking special. That first album is one of the best metal albums ever. And both went on to do excellently so there should be no hard feelings. Sylosis/Architects & Heart of a Coward/Viscera have all been absolutely sensational.
@JustPolar98 Жыл бұрын
The first album is crazy good. So is every Sylosis album for sure, it’s just insane they went that hard on their very first full length album! I do miss the cleans from Jamie as well. He was a killer vocalist for them.

I've loved Sylosis for a LONG time, ever since I heard Empyreal 1 and 2 and bought the album (Edge of the Earth). When Lorna Shore dropped Into the Earth, I'm sitting there thinking MAN this guitar solo came out of nowhere, it really reminds me of Sylosis, but I'd never heard a single youtuber talk about them so I figured they were too obscure what, 10 years later?
