looks like a brilliant autonomous platform for testing of equipment and mapping etc, not everything has to be FPV. stay safe Lee

looks like there is enough room for a 2-axis gimbal in the belly in addition to an FPV cam.

Lovely plane. Really smooth flier. I smeared a small amount of Tec7 on the sides to add grip for launch.

In my view its going to be difficult to beat the Mini Talon as a great test bed. I have 8 of them. I wish you would have shown us the inside because I would like to see if there have been any improvements. From looking at it I would guess that it would take a beating when it lands.

I don't understand why some hate the aerodynamic nose... There is a fpv deck underneath, you just have to remove some part of the foam with a sharp cutter. I see it more beneficial as you can just cut a small portion to fit in your tiny camera and still have an aerodynamic finish. Or cut it all to have your plain fpv deck. Unlike what we have on the mini talon v1. Cut it the way you want it. It's not too hard to do anyway.

Looks cool but I think it's a step backwards in terms of camera mounting and integration.

I tore the motor off mine during the second flight and had a bad crash because the motor was dangling underneath and I had no control. Smashed in the nose and ruined a lipo. Wasn’t over powered. Seems like the carbon plate in the back just being glued in is a weak spot. I used lots of epoxy to get the motor back on and about to give it another go. Front hatch doesn’t fit right anymore because the nose is bent. Seemed to fly nice before that. Use epoxy on the motor plate and not just glue.

This is a Goal. Great presentation. I'm still on the ground. I want to get back in but my stuff is all nitro and 72mhz. The new stuff is an absolute wall to me. No more yard sales or easy way to get in. Its full boat price. Actually I can't see myself doing this ever again.

Why a wall?

@@Painless360 well now. the truth. i'm lazy. i have a 70's Futaba 7ch 72mhz Am. works fine, beautiful radio. I also have the usual suspects needing new monokote and glue. Enya's, Mccoy's, and the Fox 35 are not electric. Nor are any of K&B's on the controlline models. I am 6 decades in the past. Electric? Electric starter and that's about it. yes i was one who made the move from controlline to RC way back then.

@@planker Dear Mr Planker, I am a fairly young person to make any suggestions still, i would proceed because I was blessed by my senior fliers a few times. One of them is My first radio was a Futaba T6-XAs fairly used and beaten, but post cleaning worked like a charm, and I added a Frsky DHT 2.4g gack module for 55 USD, it still is my primary radio since 2009. I personally suggest you get a Used/Discount Frsky QX7, there are some very good examples showing up on RCGroups Classifieds in good conditions at great prices. After that everything else in gear is fairly cheap these days. And even the cheapest of gear usually lasts quite long for it's price. I think you can convert Most of your impressive collection of models to electric, but Nothing sounds better than nitro. I wish you luck, Sir.

Nice model but the nose needs the camera platform like the Original Mini Talon. As seen in Andrews video, u can cut that platform into the nose before glueing the 2 halves together.

too bad the wings are not detachable. if it was it would had been great i wonder how much it cost for a ready to fly version from 3dxr guys

Do you know what cloth thickness he used to laminate it? I’ve been looking at the Talon pro as an autonomous testbeeld, but the type of foam they use is holding me back as it’s a bit prone to denting. Glassing it might be the solution to making it a bit more durable.
@woogieman023 жыл бұрын
Glossing will add a HUGE amount of weight. Laminate with 1mil or 2mil laminate and it will be fine. If the wings dent use a damp cloth with an iron to remove the dent
