My thought for anti tank had been to put a hammerhead in the list but have a kroot model poking out of the top hatch. Making it appear they have been given it by the tau. That way tries to deal with more heavy armour that the actual range struggles with.

Nice one, great to see a refreshing take on a dex review. Those new kroot models are very nice. Would love to see you doing a mini series om box to battlefield. Also id watch that mini campaign. Ive actually been thinking about doing an all sisters of silence detachment to run for fun. Personally this is the 40k i love. All this being super optimised takes the joy away. Personally i cant wait to see your all kroot army on the board. Have fun building them.

Thinking of adding some Vespid to my kroot list, they're fast, have decent anti marine shooting, can help cause the wounds for the other kroot, and can yoyo off the table when needed. And add to xenos feel of the army

Interesting video Andy, I’m glad it sounds like they have made them a viable solo army, albeit without anti armour but I’m sure they said they had more to come so maybe a knarloc will be forth coming as they do like to give everyone a “centrepiece”. As for you idea of a campaign on a dense forest board it’s a dream I have long since had my self and would love to see you put it into action in a video.

Hey I plan on playing Kroot but I feel like they didn't give them everything they need. Like some gear options and like 2-3 more units *cough greater knarloc cough* I will have fun but I am ready to get my birdmen bullied and stuffed into lookers for a bit by until we get those parts. Side note I would love to see nids vs Kroot (alien vs predator). Thanks for the video *clacks for the greater good*

As some sort of allied detachment or something like that, or will you lose all the kroot detachment rules if you do add Tau stuff?

Great overview. As you said I think there is a weakness to heavy infantry and tanks. I also think the points are too high in the codex so hopefully they may comr down a bit with the day 1 points update. To make the army more rounded you could krootify broadsides or hammerheads or convert some thing of proxy like a large kroot type beast with a huge weapon on the back to be a kroot hammerhead.

Seems like this is definitely the type of army you need to master in order to do well. But the lack of anti vehicle is a little problematic. I wonder if you go full swarm and overwhelm objectives with tons of battleline. Kroot Infantry is OC 2 I hope?

Yeah, if it was me, I'd go down the Swarm route, since you won't be killing anything high toughness. They're fairly fast, especially with that enhancement, so storm objectives with kroot blobs and out OC the opponent. 🤷‍♂️ But do whatever is cool! Not every list has to be competitive.

My buddy and I are planning to run a few games with pretty much an Infantry; my Kroot vs his Drukhari. The problem is that using the MFM for existing units and codex for new units I have to run at leas Farsight + Starscythe Crisis unit and one unit of Stealth suits just to get to 1965 points! And that is: 110 Carnivores and that isn't even all of my Carnivores. 6 Krootox Riders (4 OOP metal ones) 3 Trail Shapers (my OG Shapers) 3 War Shapers (one is Dahyak Grekh) 2 Flesh Shapers 6 Rampagers and 1 Farstalkers unit I don't think I missed anything. I don't have a proxie for the Lone-Spear yet. And I agree, it would be nice if we had some more anti-tank without going to the T'au regular forces.

I love the Kroot. But they will be blown away in the first turn of enemy shooting due their normal toughness T3. Flamers will shred them like small Nids. They’re fragile like Orks but without the Oomph Orks have. A -1 to hit with shooting can be easily countered by forces with a 10th edition codex. And they lack the kick to cut through hard troops in melee. And have no real counter to vehicles and armor. Kroot are supposed to work in hordes but aren’t cheap enough. They’re good vs light infantry but that’s about it. :/

You're not taking in the 5+ Inv on Shooting or the 6+ FNP with a Flesh Shaper into account, it's not much but it gives them an extra chance at weathering shooting.

@@ChainGraveGames I am basing my belief off of watching genestealers with the same invulnerable save getting mowed down. With their shenanigans you can get 1 unit into combat fairly guaranteed fast (broodlord + stratagem) but they still lose so many to over watch by flamers that they are defanged by the time you get to melee combat. And units without broodlord+ are lucky to be at half strength by the time they engage in melee. Kroon make an inexpensive objective taking force but lack long range punch (or close range punch) with gnarlocs erased. :/

You know we probably won't get shot off the board actually. We will be asking our opponent a simple question can you kill like 40 Kroot a turn? That might be hard to legitimately do for armies. I do plan on running full Kroot and hope we get some more wonderful Kroot again.

@@sarico7827 It’s actually fairly easy for most armies with shooting to do actually. It’s not much harder than killing 40 guard infantry or 40 Eldar guardians or 40 Dark Elder kabalites or 40 hormogants or 40 fire warriors. CC focused armies will not be able to but they’re the minority of 40K armies. T3 5+ save line troops are fine it’s that they lack the units which would follow with more firepower and durability. Kroot with Tau is perfect because you have crisis suits and vehicles backing them up. If GW brought back gnarlocs and/or made kroot in vehicles (captured or their own) I think a pure kroot would work.

Oh so for the warshapers what do you like or think about running them? I plan on trying at least with some ranged just to see it. I plan on getting all my old Kroot and the new ones and mix them up.

I want to have a nice Kroot force but I don't really like repeating kits, specially if they don't have any options... So I'll use them in smaller games alone and just sprinkle them into my T'au army for bigger games. I really hope GW gives the same treatment to the Vaspid Stingwings and makes them a viable force on their own!

@@MediocreHobbies I was talking about that one with a friend of mine when we were comparing notes. One of the ranged weapons that would gain that ability has anti infantry 3+ plus damage 2, meaning with percision not even enemy terminator characters would be safe if that warshaper got anywhere near them.
