Nice BR. I just want to point out that Kroot don't have the army rule "For the Greater good" on their datasheets so they don't get to use the Tau Army rule at all. As far as how it works pick 2 units 1 gets +1 BS(guided) the other doesn't(Observer), Then repeat pairs as you can. The daisy chain thing was something that happened early in 10th but GW finally squashed it and its not legal.

They do have it. They have T'au empire in their datasheet so they count as having it. it's under faction keyword.

The Daisy Chaining referenced in the video was one interpretation of the original RAW, as the Core Rules narrowly defined eligibility to shoot based on a few specific criteria that did not include whether that unit had already been selected to shoot that turn. It was tied solely to a) whether the unit had advanced or fallen back and b) whether it was in engagement range of enemy models (with exceptions). Two major tournament circuits (WTC and ITC) made opposite rulings on this question, which only served to emphasize how unclear the original RAI was. The GW Rules Commentary eventually clarified their intent by making it explicit that a unit was no longer considered Eligible to Shoot after it has already shot, and thus Daisy Chaining died.

Tank shock works when you make a successful charge with a vehicle model "When: Your Charge phase. Target: One Vehicle from your army. Effect: Until the end of the phase, after your unit ends a charge move, select one enemy unit within engagement range of it, then select one melee weapon from your unit it is equipped with. Roll a number of D6 equal to that weapon's strangth characteristic. If that strength is greater than that target's toughness characteristic, roll two additional d6. For each 5+ that enemy unit suffers 1 mortal wound (to a maximum of 6 mortal wounds)" This is just to correct what Matthew was saying about it only being before your unit declares the charge

Kroot do not use guided/ovserve. Kroot instead have their own detachment rule where they receive +1 to hit (shooting or melee) against a target that is below starting strength. And +1 to wound to a unit that is below half starting strength.

Guiding is only for units with For the Greater Good, which Kroot don't have, even the T'au Ethereal unit don't have that key word.

Did the rule change in the Codex? Because the index rule was that if you have the Tau keyword you could guide. If the Kroot can't guide them they don't have an army rule and just get a detachment rule and I don't think that's the case

@@palin1016Well that is a good question, I based it on other factions only able to use Army Rules if they had the proper keyword. AND Kroot and Vespid have never been able to benefit from Marker Lights in the past releases (6th on) unless they were attached to the Dal'yth Sept back in 8th.

@@palin1016 That is correct. Kroot don't have an army rule. Only units that have the faction ability "For the greater good" can use the ability and not all units have it. This is true in other factions too. Genestealer cult has the same issue. I think it's pretty dumb to have "army rules" that the whole of the army doesn't have.

You don't get the +1 until the unit finishes their entire shooting, because all shooting happens instantly at the same time. Same reason Thunderstrike speeder doesn't get +1 to wound on it's other weapon profiles.

Guard don’t ever get Lethal Hits on Overwatch from the detachment rule. When they Remain Stationary they gain it until the end of the current turn. Since Remain Stationary is a declared action on your own movement phase it can’t ever trigger on the oppponent’a turn.

Every BR from every channel forgets the Hellhound has a 2+ save and not a 3+ save ;_; Also I know it's faster but it's a bit cheaty to hit with the attacks from all models, just to get your target below strength, then hit with all the extra attacks. You should do the models one at a time (attacks/extra attacks) if you're going to fish for buffs mid combat with different characteristic weapons like that. In this case you're outright cheating by pooling all models with one of their weapons (that already has +1 wound and would otherwise be a waste) to acquire the buff as surely as possible then cycling back to do the other weapon (dealing higher damage) once you're buffed.

I was like ahh dang, he's really gonna overwatch when he's got 2cp and a 20man blob tagged in combat with only 7 dudes left, about to face his mega combat combo... And even his opponent was drilling homeboy the entire game with sly little comments "Im gonna save my 2cp to reinforce my big unit!" 💀Probably one of the biggest mistakes of Guard 10th index, you gotta play around reinforcements, especially with your 20 man blobs and elites. Overwatch is just not good unless you spec into it. Guard for example: A chimera with double heavy flamer and double flamer out the hatch (catachans), 4 torrent weapons minimum, plus all that lasgun dakka. Or MAYBE a squad of heavy bolter wt, hitting on +4 with their special rule and sustained hits on 6. Otherwise leave overwatch in the trash. Rather just get into the rp that my guys are blasting away as the enemy charges in. I don't get why people say oh don't optimize your play its dumb, waste of time, but then near the end they do all these calculations and hypotheticals to figure out how the game ends 2:03:30 And all that movement, all those shots, charges, units, OC, it all trickles down to the end. I've never heard Luca's perspective on long grinding rules and how it makes the game last longer which he prefers. I love that. Otherwise I love the table, love the models, love the characters cheers. Edit: oh ya i forgot! Holy Shit what a misplay on the Kroot rules. Totally a fun, scratch game, Uhhh run it back?

Wanted to see more Kroot, but not liking this Tau skintone paint job on the Kroot, much prefer green/brown/dark tan Kroot. Cool Map though. Not your fault, but wow didn't realize they didn't even put a Lone Spear Kroot in that Hunting Pack box. Their trying to sell Kroot as their own Detachment and could be bothered to put that thing in the collection box. Units able to use flamers or melee against the deployment zone Turn 1 never feels right to me. As others have said unless GW sent you an unreleased FAQ with your preview stuff Kroot Sadly can't use the Army Rule. They should be allowed to do something with FtGG though, as it would make a couple Kroot more valuable in other detachments. Personally I'd say the Invulnerable likely comes from the adaptive biology of the Kroot, which likely means they can take certain wounds and not be adversely affected. As for your side table about what it shows is what it has I'm on the opposite, as you shouldn't penalize somebody for not buying additional kits of the same thing or spending more money on magnetizing models. Spending CP before the move for tank shock, makes no sense, as the unit is just charging until the end where it decides to ram the enemy. Sadly my end assessment is I have to giving this one a dislike as other channels have made far more compelling show off the 10th Kroot Detachment. This episode as well feels bloated with commentary, as this match no way should have taken 2 hours.

But then there's moments like ones that start at 2:03:30 where they start talking out the game and I'm like, what's the narrative again? And listen to the part where Luca mentions he likes the rules that halt the game because he wants to player longer sessions. Some people get fun from different things, if its fun from having an army that you put thought into and is strong rules wise and they want to face other powerful forces to test its mettle, then let people have their fun.

Also calling out the Kroot army for being "Memey" is rich given Catachan is literally an army of Rambos (The inspiration for it), it's a very silly army in a very silly game. This is more of a blame GW, for what they put in the Hunting Pack Box. Not much they can do as well that GW made the Kroot so isolated that you don't want them in the other detachments since they can't use FtGG, and their detachment wants you to limit the amount of Tau you bring since the detachment rules do nothing if you aren't kroot.
