Hi Adam. Another great video. Have you notice that Tesla have also reduced their APR for loans and PCP? I think that has happened today. It’s down to 3.9% now. I think it was 6.9% yesterday 😳 That and the recent discounts make them extremely difficult it ignore.

Personally I’m FUMMING with Tesla atm. I placed my order and had it on hold until August. I had this txt the other day. “Tesla Action Required - Please respond 'YES' to this SMS if you will be taking collection of your Model 3 as soon as a vehicle becomes available. If you do not respond within 48 hours, your order is at risk of cancellation.” I read this as Tesla want me to have my car asap. I got advised (by Tesla) to ignore this as my order was on hold so I did. Today, I’ve had a txt from Tesla to say that my order has been cancelled 😡 😡😡😡 I called them and they said that they won’t give me my order back and I’ll have to reorder (spending another £200 deposit) 😡😡😡 NOT happy!!!!!

Yeah that’s tight by them. Can you get hold of a different representative, maybe a manager to explain the situation? I think if you get the chance to explain it to the right person, they should take some accountability if they advised you incorrectly. If your looking to recuperate the deposit, the tesla owner Facebook group has a few threads on how to recuperate the order fee, might be distance sales act? from memory. Let me know how you get on 👍

It was someone from the Notts Tesla dealer who told me not to worry about the txt. Today I called Tesla customer service and spoke to a manager about them cancelling it. The txt isn’t clear in the meaning and he just said that once an order has been cancelled there’s nothing that can be done…. I lost my cool tbh 😬 He eventually said that he could request a refund on the deposit but wouldn’t confirm if ACTUALLY get it though 😡. I have no email or txt confirmation of a potential refund so I doubt they’ll do it, he probably said that to shut me up and get me off the phone. Tbh I think it’s disgusting level of service. It’s MASSIVELY off putting thinking that they treat customers like this and makes me question if buying a Tesla is a good idea or not.

Its a bad experience for sure, and you just want some reassurance that they will put it right, or at least follow through on what they said. I know in the fb groups others had issues retrieving the deposit but have found ways to retrieve it. In particular, this was a deposit for a car that was never delivered. So I think 🤞there will be a way to retrieve it. Sorry its left you disheartened, its never good to hear stories like this first hand.

Terrific video with great comparisons, Adam! My SR+ (same as RWD) is approaching two years of age. 26,000+ miles, driving across town, up and down the West Coast of the US (LA to Portland OR), and across the country (CA to KY). The car has been flawless in all metrics. To sum up, having driven all manner of vehicles for the past 50 years, I can say I’ve never had a vehicle I’ve been happier with. It’s still fun and fresh, cheap to run, great fun to drive, and so easy to live with! I’d never buy another ICE vehicle. I’ve seen the light.

Owned since new in 2015 Peal White sunroof delete, black 19" wheels Tesla model S P85 now 125,000 uk miles later its still the most incredible car Ive ever owned. This is a 0-60 in 4.0 seconds 5 seat hatch with free supercharging free spotify still looks current. This car owes me nothing costs nothing to run and every time I drive it I still love it.

Yup! As an electric car owner (Kona) I know this well. My 9000 miles a year are done on 2000kwh overnight. So less than 2p a mile. Had a petrol swift before doing 50mpg but even so save over a grand on fuel costs. Sadly non Tesla EVs still recommend yearly services because the dealer's will go bust otherwise. It's cheaper but an annoyance. I've always thought of the BMW 3 for the Model 3 series as the competition but guess it would be the same anyway

I like the look of them savings ☝️ I agree, the BMW 3 series also is a petrol competitor to the Tesla Model 3. I’ve done multiple comparison videos with the 3 series over the years, whilst the ticket price is still in BMWs favour, the ongoing costs are similar to this 👍

Anyone buying a new fossil fuel car over an EV these days needs to consult professional help....unless of course there is no price equivalent to the ICE powered car available them. Excellent video that shows just why Tesla are killing Mercedes, BMW, Audi and other sales in global markets. Coming up to 4 years of owning a Kia e-Niro which has been a revelation in driving pleasure, reliability and costs when compared to any ICE car I’ve owned over more than 40 years of driving.

Glad to hear you’ve had a similar experience 👍 The new Hyundai Ioniq 6 coming this year will be an interesting addition to the line up of EVs. The cheaper cost of ownership has long been an EV advantage. With the ticket price falling, and used prices also falling. They will be irresistible to resist!

Older 2021 had 5.3 0.60 and 280 range new model has 5.8 0.60 and better 308 range older type has Rwd motor of performance model and 2023 has Rwd motor from LR AWD is this true 👍 🤔 good videos Adam

I have the older 0-60 5.3 second rwd model 3. But I’m not sure on that motor statement, I haven’t seen anything on that. I see you mentioned about the wheel trims in an older comment, I have a link to a video in the description of the video 👍

If money was not an issue for me LR with the 2k power upgrade But bang for buck I think standard SR + LFP 🔋 good range not the quickest but that's only for Grand prix starts 😉 not the best sound system but more than enough I hoped Tesla would have a HUD and Ambient lighting like on the Smart#one

Hi Adam, what’s the link to the smart ev charging video please? Due to have my model y delivered 03/03 and had a pod point installed last week. I’ve begun the switch to octopus over the weekend and need to get my head around IO. Do I program schedules on the Tesla, pod point, IO app?

Hi Mark, I’ve literally just switched so I don’t have all the ins and outs to confidently say this works best etc. What I can say is that not only is the off peak cheaper then Octopus Go. But the off-peak rate should work between 11.30-5.30 automatically without any additional effort. The principal attraction to intelligent is that by plugging in your car and telling Octopus how much charge you want by a set time via the octopus app. They will then set a “smart charge schedule” which can lead to charging outside the designated window, of say my 11.30-5.30 period. But instead of it being charged at peak its being charged at non-peak rates, together with household consumption 🥳 So you have flexibility in just sticking to the non-peak time period or relying on the “smart” part of the tariff i.e the “smart scheduling”. Thats nuts! That quote would leave me with a bitter taste too. We halved our premium this year. I found the 21 day rule helps massively. I did a video on how I did it not too long ago if its going to help 👍

Its a scrape on the front corner of the bumper. needs fixing. Potentially just smoothing out and respray. I mean Sentry mode has saved us here massively! Only spotted it hours on from the incident.

Oh come now, enough of that - you can charge at home and skip going to the pump. Filling up a tank takes 5 minutes! I'm not anti EV but this argument is plain pathetic! I'll buy an EV so that I can skip going to the pump, saving me 5 min every time. I'm sure by the end of the video it will be the other slightly less pathetic argument that no one drives more than 200 miles without stopping... Yes, that's right, but stopping after 200 miles is a choice and it can be for as little as 10 min. Whereas with an EV, you must stop and charge. These are problems that no ICE car driver has at the moment! You have these problems with EVs!

Filling up with petrol takes more like 10-15 mins if you including stopping, filling and paying. On a 250kWh charger you can add 250 miles in 15 mins.

In addition to that 96% of all my charging last year was from home. So time wasted there was 30 seconds each time. Fast charging is rare for most, if you have home charging facilities
