Thank you for your videos! I watched them faithfully which helped me pass my exam on August 4th, 2020. I received my license in 1994 but due to circumstances I had allowed my Cosmetology license to expire 5 years ago and had to renew them. Your videos were a blessing for me. It is all I had to go by for the practical exam. I just admonish anyone who is taking the exam just to study these videos with what you already know or learning. Total different exam from what I did in 1994. But it was a learning experience and I can help my daughter who will be taking her exams next year! I passed my Test !🥂 I had been out of school for 2years and this channel was my only help and hope, this was the hardest chemical part for anyone PLEASE take 2 brushes and a container big enough to be able to deep the brush in , so a total of 6brushes mine fell at the beginning of the service and it was a disaster prepare with extra everything !🙏 Thank You for the visual practice . In Texas this is the last section of the test. chemical services , you will not be shampooing the hair. Your mannequin will have the gel on the hair once done you’ll have to wash it off once you get home .

Wait it was actually the lash one that one is the tricky one because it’s a maniquin it’s just weird and i recommend people to bring like white thick glue I had the black on because it works the best in my opinion but if you f up you can see all your glue mistakes

@@chelleu20 really i would think the black glue is better because it wont look messy once the lash is on like i explained on the video.. remember your mannequin needs to already have a pair on when you take it, so you are only applying another pair on top which makes it a bit easier.. just have control of the lash apply enough glue, let it get a little tacky than apply to center of lash ..outter than inner..push it against lashline and you'll be 👍

This feels like such a silly question to ask, but if we do pack separate bags for each service, do we have to pack a new comb for each one? Or do you think we can just pack three (plus extra just in case) in the initial Chemical Prep bag and leave those laying on the paper towel. That way each bag we grab from our kit is only, like, the mock products and a new brush? Also, not to be super nit picky, but are we allowed to place the clips on the table while we’re sub-sectioning, or will they dock a point for cross contamination? I’m four years behind, and I remember being sassed for putting my clip or comb or anything down on the table, and told that would take points off and to instead clip the clip on anotherrr clip to keep it sanitary. Sorry for such a long comment!

Hi Yes to the first question you can pack separately and pack extras . And yes you can set the clip down if needed just be sure to disinfect the station before taking items out of the bag. Do not over think the test. You got this 🫶🏼🍀🍀

Yes you will be able to go into your kit after each section if needed, everyone packs kit a little different as long as you are sanitizing your hands each time you go into kit you are ok to do so.

Hi I’m not sure if my teacher is teaching me the right way but I’m currently practicing for the practicle and for the second part where in your video she is applying the product from top to almost to the bottom, and starts from the back of nape, my teacher told us to start from the top of the hair section and ones we applied the product from top to almost to the bottom to put each subsection over the top stacking them and then bringing each one down at a time is that correct? Because in here I just see her starting from the back and leaving them down

Hi Everyone teaches it a bit different and is not that the way you are being shown is incorrect, I believe that’s how I was taught, but this method is more simple . And yes you can dip the brush into the container because you will have a container and a separate brush for each section, you will not be cross contaminating . Whichever method you decide to use you will be 👍🏼

They give you 10min for the preparation, and yes once done you raise your hand that you are done. Once everyone is done with that part you will move on to the next section and so forth each section is 10min except for the “Foil Highlight” that section is not timed.

Took my exam today and its wasn't that bad at all only had 1 rater and when i tell you that your 2 napkins per bag and sanitation method was so repetitive during each service due to you saying it over and over i had that down pack!!! i was very confident during clean up process as well as always sanitizing after trashing items. HOWEVER we did not get our results afterwards due to system issues so im currently waiting and calling tdlr and psi for an update on results TOO MAD cuz im anxious to know BUT WISH ME LUCK *Fingers Crossed*

Hi For this part of the test you keep the same drape for each section no need to change. Yes you do the protective cream during the preparation part. And as far as taking all the bags out at once, honestly it depends on how you have your kit set up if you have a bag for each section I would NOT take all 3 at once they give you ten minutes for each section, except for the foils that portion is “not timed” so before you start each section you could easily take the bag out of your kit than and simply start applying the product since your mannequin will already be ready , I hope this makes sense , everyone is trained a little different so do as you were shown in school.

When you are about to start the service you sanitize your hands. Get your bag out lay it all out just like its shows, do the service, disinfect your station put everything away except for your , epa bottle hand sanitizer, water bottle. Than you raise your hand that you done. Hope this makes sense. You always clean first before raising your hand.

Hi , you have to do a layered haircut it can be a 180 or 90 or 45 but you have to incorporate the razor during the cut . It doesn’t matter when during the cut but you have to use it at some point. I recommend doing the perimeter around the hair line with the razor first to get that step out of the way and than continuing on with whichever haircut you would like to do . But no it can NOT be just a zero degree.

For the next section after I've cleaned and finished the perm section, blow drying and thermal curling, do I have to wet the hair if it's not wet enough or wet at all? Before I begin to blow dry?
