Reading the comments and watching the video I am confused when should we raise our hand for the proctor to come check our perm wave service. Since proctor will ask to demonstrate test curl and saturation do we leave all of our stuff still on the table and just sanitize our hands and raise our hand and demonstrate before putting everything up? Video shows just putting everything up but others have said they’ve failed this part because of putting everything up before the proctor comes for demonstration.

Hi Linda Before you begin this section listen for specific instructions I’m sure the rater will tell the group what will be taking place. If for whatever reason they do not give instructions regarding the demonstration. Like you mentioned once everything is wrapped, cotton is around the perm rods etc. raise your hand that should indicate to them you are ready to demonstrate the saturation and the test curl. Once they have acknowledged you that is when you would begin the disinfection process and putting everything away and taking the rods down. You can than raise your hand a second time (just to be sure) that will indicate you are completely finished with that section of the test. Hope this helps

Just to let anyone know, when I took the exam the first time (failed), the rater did ask me and everyone to demonstrate saturation and a test curl when I raised my hand, which I had already done because I didn’t know they’d ask separately. So don’t put your things away for this part! 💕

I take my test on Wednesday. Do you recommend raising your hand, doing the saturation and test curl then clean up or cleaning some of the things up (combs and such) then raise. We were trained to clean all of it up then raise our hand like the video but I’m so scared to mess this up!

It’s really up to you in the video the two front sections were sectioned the perm was wrapped in the middle top area of the head once you measure your rods you can separate the hair

Hi Our students use the same cape for eyelash, facial and waxing. They than change the cape into a Haircutting cape with neck strip for the haircut section. Followed by changing into towel cape towel for the chemical service, permanent wave , blowdry etc. For those sections they only change the top towel, but keep the same towel that’s underneath and the cape. Hope that helps. Also when in doubt you can change capes for each section if you prefer. Some students use disposable capes , it’s really up to you, as long as you are draping and making sure nothing is soiled.

Hi No you do not have to , you can wear a lab jacket, which I suggest or all black scrubs , close toe shoes are a must.

Didn’t sanitize table at beginning and the video keeps skipping during rolling the rods and you can’t tell how you’re really rolling it other than that it’s ok

It’s like that to avoid making the video so long , but I’m glad you understand that the actual day of the test you will be wrapping 6 perm rods, videos are far from perfect but they have helped so many 🙏🏼💗

Hola Te recomiendo que aguas click a la playlist de cosmetologia ahí tengo todos los videos para el examen práctico en orden asta todo lo que está adentro de cada bolsa para el exam. Pero para responder to pregunta si No vas usar productor verdadero paro los chemical debes usar gel, para el wax puedes usar vaselina . Para el facial si puedes usar cremas .

The protective cream is for the chemical color section, (unless your instructor trained you to do it during this section as well do as you have been trained by them) as far as applying the cap, it’s not shown in this video if you wanted to do it you could just know the cap is usually placed because you would normally let the chemical process but in this case you do not, once you apply your solution and do the practice test curl you take everything down . Listens for specific instructions from the proctor during this section they may have you do it in front of them.

I would not recommend to use the same cape if I were you I would add at least 1 more and remember for the hair cut you want to use a haircutting cape. I will be going live next Tuesday to answer questions you guys might have see ya than!! ❤️
