New tires for my Jeep! Cooper STT Pro 315/70R17 First Impressions

In this video I finally upgrade my tires from my BFG 265/70R17 All Terrain tires to Cooper STT Pro 315/70R17 Mud Terrain tires. I'm super excited for this upgrade and really looking for testing them out over the next few months.
I'm answering some FAQ about upgrading to 35s like:
Do you need to regear when you run 35s?
Do you need to cut the fenders running 35s on a 2.5" lift?
How is the fuel consumption on 35" tires?

Thanks Sir! I used my 85mm GM f1.4. It's my only long lens that fits on my Gimbal. Still keen to get that Sigma 24-70 that you have one day!

It looks great. It’s called a tailgate reinforced hinges or a tire carrier. Flat flares are the best. Love the new look. Coopers rock

That's it.. Almost a 35inch.. I'm Glad you Got 34.6.. Don't Cut the fenders if not necessary, fenders looking in proportion with tyre size and lift.. Looking good.. Ps. Don't forget to change tyre size on your OBD Jscan app tool 😉see you on next trail

Thanks man! Yes we changed the speedo to work for the new tires 👍🏽 Whats interesting about size is most 35” tires actually measure between 34.4 a 34.8. For example, BFG KM3 35/12.5R17 measure at 34.5” which is smaller than mine . Mickey Thompson BAJA ATZ 35/12.5R17 measure at 34.4. There is a cool site where they show the actual measurement or different brands called TireSize.com. So far the only one I could find measuring 35” was MAXXIS tires. (They don’t have all brands either unfortunately but a lot of the big names ) I’m definitely calling mine 35s, specially if they are actually bigger than some ones labelled as 35 😄 . What was the size of the tires you removed? They looked very small side by side with the new STT Pros. Cool video brother, cheers!

Thanks for the comment man, they were 265/70/17s so about a 31.5” or so . 🙂

Hey man! Looks super nice. Found that after upgrading mine the rear didn’t clear on extreme flex obstacles. This was more of a problem when loaded in overland mode. Maybe your lift is a bit higher than mine and maybe the 2door is little bit different. I have heard people also in stead of modding fenders just extend the bump stops… maybe thats an option if you run into issues…

Thanks man! I actually forgot to mention in the video we did have to cut a bit of the body and rock slider at the back for the tire to clear as it would rub on the rock slider . I think if anything , my 2 door is lighter than yours which may make some difference ? Thanks for the tip on bump stops ! I’ll keep that in mind in the future if I’m finding they rub too much . Thanks dude ! Excited for the trails!
