Wow! This will kill the Fire Stick bro. I truly believe it. Not unless Amazon decides to add the Google Play Store via a system wide update. I dont see why Amazon couldnt do it. So its not too late for Tivo to take the Fire TV Stick out.

Triple M its True you can install Kodi and you can use Downloader on it. Also, you can add additional Storage along with being able to use a USB Type C hub in order to add another remote. However when I tried to add a USB ethernet adapter to The Tivo 4k Streaming device. in which the power was on but the Tivo's Android Tvos interface wasn't able to recognize it . And Hopefully, Tivo addresses the ethernet connection based on their next update. and one more thing that I've found interesting is that your volume buttons don't work on the remote out of the box in which you will have to program it. Hopefully, Tivo's next update will address that issue as well.

I honestly think if they open up the Guide feature to Hulu Live, AT&T Live TV and other companies, then TiVo Stream can be like the DVR for cord cutters. It will allow you to have the TiVo experience with any streaming service. And if you don’t like the interface of like Hulu, it wouldn’t matter because your TiVo guide can replace it.

If you could take this on the road, plug into hotel TV, and watch recorded content from your home TIVO unit, you’ve got something. Otherwise, it’s just another streaming device.

TivoStream 4k does have google play store and you can get the regular Tivo app for your dvr from play store. Seems like what u want would work.

I just want to know if it works with other TiVo products. Can it access my TiVo Vox tuner to watch my paid cable tv on another TV via this dongle? Can it stream the TiVo's recorded videos like TiVo Mini does? If not then it's a poor TiVo product.

That’s a very valid point, and I guess you’d have to have the ecosystem to test that. Unfortunately, this will all be my only TiVo device.But when I get the device, let me know if you have any specific things that I can look for the kind of help you out.

Not right now. Maybe in the future. However as someone who owns a Tivo DVR it is disappointing that it doesn't integrate with their own DVR boxes at launch.

This device is great, and you don't have to jump the Amazon hurdles, except the downloader for third party apps which is a breeze with a patched downloader or easier still Analiti app from Google playstore...

Won't be able to compete with the Firestick unless they sell it outside of Canada and the US. Guess I 'll have to wait til it's available on Amazon. Have to have a US or Canadian credit card. They should at least offer Pay Pal.

Eh. Yes it is about equal capabilities. A tad faster. But, really fast enough for the price tag and going out to buy a new device? Eh, most likely not. Yes it has the Google Play store. I am still new to streaming and still learning. I know i,had been able to find lots more apps on my,phone google play, vs. Amazon Play Store. So, maybe that is a plus. Though it is not rising the bench mark much if any. It would need to come up with still better organize screen. AMD really give people lots of option on screen set up so the people can chose better and better screens and orgination methods, as well as options. Though I would think the big thing when trying to compete and xommingcin late to the competition is you have to clearly,offer more by a big bit for a lower price. Though knowing how many companies like this one seems to only try to only meet the bench mark. There are just tons of things they could have improved. And, if not making the improvements to set it up to upgrade by bits without having to buy a new Tivo. The big issue is faster, more memory, and to stop having to Buffer. Then also it seems to be a big deal to also allow side load, and increase memory as well as add usb remote. Though tivo could have done an air remote with key pad on one side and the buttons on the other. I also think they could have done a lot more and a lot better with the remote options. Voice command. Maybe some 4 fav buttons that the people can select and program themself. The very least those buttons van go to your last few fav usage. The it learns on it's own as well as other for the people to pick. Have enough space, like you said to save shows,and movies up,to the amount a DVR would.after all that is what tivo is known for. I will also say i really miss from the bar days the slow button. Something great to use when watching an action movie, or anything we may want to slow,things down so to get a closer and better look at. I will even add that my most favorit VCR with the slow motion button, even allowed me to make adjustments to what speed of slow motion I prefered from moment to moment. To a fast slow motion that is almost at the play level, to so slow you could actually see frame pause frame pause. I even had a choice to howxong the pause was up to an extent. I would also like to see a tv guide.and, fir it to pick up all the apps,we may add to our viewing pleasure free or not, to what all is showing from each and if it had live tv, even if it is not regular live tv like Crackle and Tubi to have a schedual for all in one place. I do know that IMDb has a list of mutable places we can watch shows andmovies. But, I have to say,it is a pain whenever it keeps directing me to only ppv shows/movies. Especially so, when I know there is an free option I can get to on my own. Example stations I mentioned with crackel, tubi, and even some PPV apps have some free options like google play. Though if you have a 3rd part app,,it should be able to pick uo,thoze options as well. Maybe also have an app for commercials. After all those can or tend to be free. Though if they had free Unlimited VPNs could be a game changer. You get the ideal. Think of everything they can that customers want, and give it to us all in one with the ability to keep upgrading on numerous levels.

I'm hopeful that the soon to come Google Chromecast Ultra replacement will be even better. Perhaps it will be powerful enough to run Plex Server.
