I have a 2005 Avalon bought brand new 18 years ago! The car is super reliable!! It does leak a little power steering fluid as mentioned by others but nothing to be concerned about. I did replace one of the front axles because of a severe pothole and I also recently replaced the water pump and serpentine belt. The car has 260,000 miles on it and drives great with so much power and very quiet. At idle it doesn’t shake or anything! Gonna keep her as long as she wants to run!! It’s a great car!

I sold my 2001 Toyota mini van and then bought a 2005 Avalon limited. It does have high mileage but except for minor repairs for a 18 year old I love it. I've owned the big 3 autos and always had problems. I'm sold on Toyota quality. Other than regular maintenance I've had very minor issues. I am a Toyota fan for life. My mechanic told me Avalons run forever.

What a beautiful car! I have a 2006 Avalon Limited and they sure are beautiful! You are right about the features we think of cars only having now that this has 15 years ago! My one has Adaptive Cruise Control (this might have been an option on the limited) but it still drives like new and is really quick for what it is! In fact my parents are so impressed dad has gone out and got a 2020 Avalon Limited over a 2020 5 series for value :)

Mine has navigation so no cassette stereo is better than on 550i, but doesn’t have the laser cruise. I wish mine had 31k miles (144k) but still runs phenomenal. I paid $5k for it!!! For example, my BMW only have heated seats not cooled/heated like the Avalon. Infiniti’s smart key system allows you to lock/unlock only the front doors while the Avalon has it on all doors. I would love your input on how this car performs in NJ's slippery wet and heavy snow that we get. Thanks!

Obviously a set of snow tires is going to give any vehicle an advantage! But I’d consider these to be on par with just about any other front wheel drive vehicle in the snow. The V6 powertrain sitting over the front wheels definitely helps with traction!
