@@ericcook8254Pharoah was never meant to be a full title release though, it was a smaller release like Britannia focused on a much smaller area (with more detail) supposedly, and given the specific niche they picked no one was surprised it didn’t do well

at this pointi dont think the historical fans will be satisfied with anything CA makes , even if CA releases a ˝full historical title˝ whatever that actualy means because at this point the bufoons have become so butthurt that words like ˝arcadey˝ and ˝full title˝ have lost all meaning , they probably wont like it and will disown it just like they did with ToB and ill be honest i do like watching them cope and seethe

@@anthonyontv1061 lord of the ring would be a clear winner in money, if it is Star Wars I wouldn’t be surprised considering the amount of money Daddy Disney has if they wouldn’t just throw money at them to create it, they are coming out with a flurry of Star Wars games soon/recently. Also the tv series and movies, no matter how bad people claim them to be they still keep churning star wars content into every media 😂

On one hand no smoke without fire. This much rumours going around makes it likely. On the other hand Star Wars would be so expensive to get the licence for. With all the troubles at CA these past few years where are they getting the money to licence that? If it's true they must have gotten a great discount deal. The price Disney would charge would blow the cost of the WH licence away. You would think.

Star wars needs a win right now, a good total war game with star wars would definitely help the brand in the gaming sector. The one thing that makes me doubt if this is real is the shift from melee close combat to ranged gunfights of star wars. If true though imagine the mods that could come out of that game

Knowing the current state of CA, the rumors could be completely true since those are mostly clearly the wrong choices if they wanted to bring back some of the millions of players they've lost over the last 10 years or so.... CA is simply clueless at this point and still stressing its resources thin on multiple simultaneous projects, a strategy which never worked well for them in the past. If they only focused ALL their resources into making a new engine from scratch and then Medieval 3 with said engine they would've a masterpiece on their hands in two years or so and bring back all the community with it. But I guess that that solution is so simple and so good that they would never use it...

@dakotameredith625 in my opinion those are not changing the gameplay of Total War but adding new mechanics to it. But people who want Star Wars and Warhammer 40k want to change the gameplay to a game like Dawn of War or Empire at War, etc, and that for me is a big no as a long time Total War fan.

@@CALIMA2000 the core gameplay of total war has stayed overall the same , the tactics used in rtw still work for the most part in recent titles there is only so many times you can invent a wheel , but it seems the fanbase of tw (especialy the so called core historical fanbase) cant seem to understand that

@@dakotameredith625 yeah you would have to completely revamp the entire battle system more or less which is why i doubt they would ever make 40k or star wars , i suspect that the furthest they would go is probably the mid 19th century (crimean war etc) since solid formations were still used but then again that would be more or less a napoleon reskin but we shall see what if anything happens in the future

Honestly i agree with star wars and 40k but ww1 i could see it, kinda like empire total war but giving the infantry faster firing and the ability to dig trenches, and add tanks which would be easy to implement, and then there's not much more to change, you have the artillery you have the cavalry and the only thing they would have to add would be the tanks, also if they wanted to add it they could add planes which they more or less did in WH, but being in ww1 planes didnt saw that much action and they could maybe get away with not adding them also a game was released like a year ago that to my understanding is like TW but in world war one called The Great War: Western Front tldr: im my opinion they could pull a world war one game

​@@0krana333 TW is about 2 armies meeting each other. WW1 doesn't have that. It's mainly trench warfare in large fronts which span hundreds of kilometers. (something like how Victoria 3 did it) I just don't see the gameplay appeal of waiting for people to shoot each other from distance. City assaults would also be something like the "Company of Heroes" games. Which means that the scale of the battles needs to be significantly dumbed down in order for that to work. But ofc, if CA can prove me wrong, I'll be happy

I just bought pharaoh recently, but I play with the radius.Mods pretty decent game combined with all the free content coming out

I hope they aren't delving into sci fi stuff at all. Total War hasn't even done a game in the 1900s yet let alone in the modern-esque of sci fi. Also, I don't see how the map stuff would work. If anything, I think Star Wars would work better as a Total War game than 40k, although I still hope that neither would happen.

CA really have sold their soul to the devil. They used to develop games exploring interesting historical time periods, new mechanics and epic scope. Now they chase the IP most likely to deliver maximum profit. It’s ALL about the money. Passion, love, dedication to the franchise long since disappeared. What will be next? Marvel TW? Lego TW? Anything for the mass market, cash grab

total war has been a game where you control more or less solid blocks of men fighting other blocks of men which doesnt lend itself to 40k where you have 3 billion types of regiments most of which fight in an open formation or none at all and dont get me started on the retarded amount of various vehicles , and star wars is barely any different they would have to revamp or outright remove all if not most of the formation stuff and probably scale down the battles to make it actually bearable to control all that nonsense , total war should stay within the era of solid formations of men shooting or poking at eachother
