Haha! Don't worry mate you get desensitised after loosing the third one :) Thanks for the mention in the vid! As others say VLC will play just about anything. Getting the footage converted into a usable file is hard!!! I'm on a mac and I use an old version of iPhoto then have to trim the file and save it off to get it to play in Premier pro. Looking forward to the footage once you have it all down. Cheers Rod

Yea, not sure if I will make it to stage 3. Now if they pay for themselves with awesome footage then maybe. Kind of like the drone stuff. I can't justify it yet for a few seconds of the same footage.

Yea I find the Waterwolf is worth buying each time I loose it. Im kind of addicted to seeing what i missed out on each trip, if I can be bother taking it. When that hit does eventually come on the troll camera its gold! I hear you on the Drone, it's a bit out of reach price wise for me at the moment and every time I reason it out to get one I realise I could pretty much get on a plane to Hawaii and fish for a week! Kind of seems a crazy choice... but then I do love those drone shots, especially if I was in an exotic location... DJI Spark is getting closer to the mark price and practicality wise for me.

Very cool video Steve!!! Excellent footage!!! A lot of work goes into it, just remember to relax and breathe and enjoy what your doing!!! The underwater shots are gold when you can get them!!! We put our GoPro down 30meters and our Sportscam down 30meters and we've got to sift through hours of footage just to get a couple of minutes of footage!!! We've got an underwater 360 camera with footage on it and we don't know how to get it out. Everything is non-compatible with it we put it in the too hard basket. Your video was cool and it's good that your patient with what your doing!!! Take care and tight lines!!!

hey Steve great video can't wait for the new beds to hit with that new camera maybe you should epoxy the camera to a toaster maybe you should also paint it white with a little silver Blended in a little bit more I think that'll work better at least you won't lose it.
@KeyWestKayakFishing7 жыл бұрын
Yea, after I get it set up I think I will start using it as a teaser or even a lure on its own. For now just gotta figure out how to get good video and then import it.

I recently did some kayak mango fishing under a bridge...brought some finger mullet with me. Had a pretty successful day, however I took off my boots for them to dry and left them in the garage to air out. Got them a day later, dry, and saw something shiny inside...pulled it out, little finger mullet filled with maggots. I have no idea how it happened but at one point during the day a fish must've jumped into my boot. Stunk to high hell, hopefully I can get the stench out lol. Will check boots after trips from now on... EDIT: thinking back on it, it must've been a mullet from the night before when I was cast netting bait...no wonder it smells so bad...
@KeyWestKayakFishing7 жыл бұрын
Yea, my kayak gets that way from cast netting bait. They get stuck in all the nooks and crannies. Sharks and flies follow me around just because of the scent. I also tend to get them in my life vest pocket. That stinks up the car and me.

Steve where the S/D Card goes in the Water Wolf,if there is enough room put a little inflated Balloon or some material that will have good floating capability in Water,and test that at you house before you use the Water Wolf 1.1 in the Ocean
@KeyWestKayakFishing7 жыл бұрын
The problem is then it would skip along the surface. I need it to go deeper so I have actually added weights in there.

that's a cool under water camera, but I think, the way you might lose it is, a huge fish might attack it and crush it and dislodge it from it's little mounting bracket. hopefully not! good luck with your new toy. Hi! Great video as allways! One thing i don't understand about that camera; why didn't they put it in a clear rubber/plastic body? A few components visible is far better than that black torpedo looking thing (in my opinion). Anyways, looking forward to more of your videos! Love from Norway
@KeyWestKayakFishing7 жыл бұрын
Yea, I would have preferred clear myself. I guess it might resemble a bait if all black. I might dress it up a bit later and use it as a teaser.

I have not read all the comments yet so someone might have mentioned it, you could rig up a downrigger to set the depth, or a dive vane, or lead up the line away from the camera, there are a few ways to set your depth, just a thought, and sorry if someone has mentioned it.

Half pound torpedo sinker four feet in front, four-inch horizontal wings and a delta vertical tail, bacon on the hook will catch those tasty trigger fish...cover with a jelly-belly.
@KeyWestKayakFishing7 жыл бұрын
LOL. That is some work for a Trigger. Stealthy little guys. Pretty relentless.
@cocoloco21797 жыл бұрын
Steve...the rig I described is what I used while sailing across the Atlantic...not just for Triggerfish...(they do need some bacon in their nose to trigger the bite)...(did I just say that)?...the camera rig will keep the camera down and let it fly on a stable track. We used a three hundred foot line: hundred feet of ski rope to the sinker, hundred feet of fat long-line mono to a hundred feet of stainless and just some white rag on the big hook: the camera saw lots of sharks following, Marlin, Sails near the Gulfstream...we successfully caught Dolphin before Bermuda then just sharks a few weeks into the passage. The line was attached to the main winch, just crank them in. As are a lot of folks I am addicted to your presentations. I am 73 (Floridian, Stiltsville, Miami) and the places you visit bring back memories - not much has changed...the reef still fishes the same after all these years.
@fredfable56557 жыл бұрын
What a pity it doesn't work as expected. But you are trying new things all the time (that is great). I know they are not a big deal...these cameras are something else. It would be better if they transmite in Wi Fi to a phone and you can see whats going on in real time and let you act in consequence, drop a different rig, etc.. But good, very good try.
@2450logan7 жыл бұрын
Fred Fable transmitting underwater wirelessly is very inefficient with quite a small range due to the frequency required to transmit video unfortunately
@KeyWestKayakFishing7 жыл бұрын
Yea, it would be really cool to be able to control it wirelessly. Such a hassle to take the cap off every time. I actually had a underwater drone company contact me and even they had to use a tether. Maybe in the future.
