First gameplay and impressions of the new JR East Train Simulator with the Nintendo Switch Zuiki Controller. Doing the Keihin-Tōhoku Line ( 京浜東北線 ) with the E233-1000 Series, from Ōmiya ( 大宮 ) to Minami-Urawa ( 南浦和 ). This is a very realistic train simulator, a straight port of the professional-grade train simulators used by JR EAST. The simulation is FMV-based, like the earlier Train Simulator series by Ongakukan.

Total surprise to have this game on Steam! 😄 Minoru Mukaiya recently said that the professional simulators were originally programmed to operate on a Windows 10 environment, so that might be the reason for going straight to PC instead of PlayStation/Switch. Hyped for the full release!!

The visual reminds me of that PS2 era photorealistic train sim... which name I forgot. Considering the advances in video technology, it is about time to have this kind of visual reappears. I hope the final version includes most of the existing lines in Japan, and maybe an "endurance" trip featuring the Sunrise train.

Ah, I think you mean the Train Simulator series, right? I briefly mention them at 12:40 , and this game is from the same developer, Ongakukan! The final version will include additional JR East lines as DLC, but I'd love to see a collab with JR West/JR Central to have the Sunrise Izumo/Sunrise Seto 🌞 Thanks for your comment! 😊

I love this controller. I bought it because of this video but how do you know what speed you are supposed to go on this sim?

Glad that you're enjoying the controller, it's a great controller! 😄 This line is ATC-equipped, so you can see the current speed limit as a small yellow triangle on the speedometer. Not very convenient, but more realistic. However, the developers have recently said that they are considering including an in-game maximum speed display with a future update.

Hello! quick question. What is the yellow sign you can see at 4:32 ? I notice that on majority of platforms or a black circle with a yellow triangle alswell. What does it mean?

Hi! That's a signal roughly in the middle of the platform area that marks the start of the next block (tracks are divided into "blocks", and one block can only be occupied by a single train). I believe it's mostly used by the conductor (not the driver) to quickly check from his/her window at the end car if the train has already entered the next block. So, if the driver needs to reverse the train then the conductor can confirm to the driver if the reverse maneuver is allowed or if the train has already moved into the next block, thus requiring permission to enter the previous block. @@natsumenukunuku Jajajaja sí, soy español 😝 Acabo de contestarte en el otro comentario, simplemente tengo yamanot.es abierta en el móvil a la vez que juego. Lamentablemente tuve que dejar de usarla para vídeos porque el filtro del micro pillaba entrecortado el audio de las eki-melos, pero esa web funciona genial.
