LOL! Late to the party, reusing an old retired names on both the buggy and the tires, only 2s, still refusing to use industry standard plugs or use adjustable battery hold downs and priced more than the Typhon.... I mean what's not to love LOL!!! Yup not going to even entertain this one, I'll stick with ARRMA.

The plastic gtr shocks aren't new. They use them on the jato 3.3 nitro car. And the chassis looks to be the same or very similar to the rally car or slash ultimate edition chassis. However, this one does have the new center drive shaft cover/ center brace. If only traxxas would keep the bl2s in lower budget cars. This car should be vxl out of the box. I think they'll release a vxl edition layer like they did with the clipless rally car.

They have threaded collars though, is that not new? Still not thrilled but
@brennanlindermuth48013 ай бұрын
@V8chump they could be a new version. The jato has threaded gtr shocks. Threaded bodies and collars. I was hoping for some color matching aluminum gtr shocks and vxl system but ya can't have everything I guess
@DoRC3 ай бұрын
They do look similar but the lower spring purchases are definitely updated. The chassis is similar to all of the 3S cars though there are quite a few small and a few major differences.
@brennanlindermuth48013 ай бұрын
@DoRC I figured they'd be somewhat updated as they have been updating parts. I wish they would've updated the battery tray to use something similar as the Hoss, New Stampede 4x4 vxl, and Rustler 4x4. Anyway I'm still really excited to get a Jato 4x4. Definitely making it vxl at some point

@ninthislandrc3 ай бұрын
I think a LOT of people (myself, included) are going to be disappointed with this. Only 2S? No sway bars included? There are other 'problems' with this, but those are the two I see most will be complaining about (and, rightfully so). Come on, Traxxas, where's the "innovation"??? With the exception of the 'new' chassis, and the plastic GTR shock 'clones', it's as if Traxxas isn't bothering to actually create something "new", and are just rehashing parts. People, do yourself a HUGE favor, and get something...anything...else. The Arrma Typhon 3S would be a MUCH better choice (plus, it's $20 less).

Some people actually like that. There's something to be said for the iterative design and it means that parts availability should be pretty reliable for a long time.
@boduke94283 ай бұрын
Traxxass hasn't been interested in innovation for a decade. The Xmaxx was the last time they took a chance.
@dylanwhite65393 ай бұрын
Eh, it’s $20 more than the other BL-2s 4x4s. I don’t think that’s an awful price. You get the metal gears and clipless system that isn’t on the typhon 3s and some brand new parts.
@DoRC3 ай бұрын
Yeah I get that but the buggy is usually the cheapest of a line of vehicles and this one's now the most expensive. I can get the argument for it over the type on but what about the TC syncro?
@dylanwhite65393 ай бұрын
@DoRC I mean I can’t argue with the TC syncro 4 much. Mainly just these: clipless body (I’ve stopped short of pulling the trigger on several rcs because I personally hate body clips that much) and parts support. Any traxxas will have a dozen stores carrying 3 different variants of the same part at any time, especially slash 4x4 platform rigs, and that means something for a lot of people. One other thing is plastic vs aluminum chassis. A lot of us prefer the cheaper, lighter and in many ways more durable plastic chassis over aluminum ones. It might actually be the only plastic chassis 1/8 scale buggy out besides the Typhon 3. I do want to say though that Traxxas is definitely still overpricing their models
