Hi Jason, I reckon that you have made a good choice with the Kenda RT's. I have a 200 series Landcruiser and have gone with the Kenda RT's, 275 70 r17, and even though it is early days, I have had them on both the highway and rugged tracks and they are performing very well. I replaced BFG KO2 all terrains that gave me 100,000 kms, however, their new tyres are not achieving anywhere near that level of performance hence my change to Kenda. I will be happy if I can get 60 to 70,000 kms out of the Kenda's given their much more agressive tread pattern than the BFG's. I will be surprised if you don't enjoy these new tyres up in the Vic High Country. Keep up the good work, I enjoy your videos and have done a number of tracks that you have done after watching your content. Cheers John

Thx John, couldn't agree more. I ran wildpeaks on the Paj for 4yrs and I think these are better. The tyre shop reckons most people get around 80,000km out of the kenda's, I won't given the amount of off road I do but I used to only get 40,000 from the wildpeaks in the paj. Done a few trips now in the high country and very happy with the Kenda's.

Looking good mate. Those MT's look chunky as, even these ones look more like an MT.

Yeah bit of a change from what I had on there. Also nice to get a free 1" lift at the same time 🙂

Last year I put the Maxxis Razor A/T (235/85R16) on my hilux and found them very quiet and grip well on the road. I think tyre technology has advanced a lot in the last 10 years and even a fairly aggressive A/T can be very good on and off the road. I also considered the Kenda R/T so will be interesting to see how they perform. Keep up the content. Cheers!

Thanks Gary, I know a lot of people who rate the Maxxis Razor A/T's. I was generally happy with the Wildpeaks but came across these as a good interim step between the AT and a full MT tyre. So far very happy with them.

Never heard of Kenda before, they look very solid. I could see it lifted the 76 as it was driven out of the workshop. I can't have tyres that big on the DMAX, if I do, I'll have to deflate them to 5 psi to fit in the garage😖. I'll be interested in seeing how they perform in the VHC and how they wear. Can't stop you now mate, next........rear locker. Cheers, BobbyB.

Hey Bobby, yeah they're a US brand, big in the off road racing segment over there. Gave these things a hiding on an April high country trip towing the DOT, they've done well. Wear at least as good if not better than the wildpeaks, quieter on the road than wildpeaks and better offroad in my opinion. Handy the 70 series can take larger tyres easily and a cheap way to get a 1" lift, importantly under the axle's as well.

@@OffTheBeatenPathAusIt’s a Chinese brand owned by Cooper Tyres. Not saying Chinese Tyres are bad. They must have inherited some BFG tech from parent brand.

@@ericyoung9784 seems they started in Taiwan, and now have manufacturing in Taiwan, China and Indonesia. As you say some popular brands like Maxxis are made in china. Quality varies from factory to factory for a lot of things I think. All I can really say is I've done about 20,000km since putting the kenda's on and been really happy with them for durability, grip etc.

I thought that they were Taiwanese brand

Apparently they are, at least that's where they originated. I heard about them through use in the US and thats why i thought they were a US brand. Now have plants in Taiwan, China and indonesia so who knows where the actual tyres we get here are made. Still have had them on the car now about 8 months and I'd say they're at least as good as the wildpeaks I had before. (on my Pajero).
