Excellent choice. I recently had all 4 types changed to Michelin sport pilot 3 and it's made a massive difference to the car and improved driving confidence.

Hello Adam, firstly i want to say that i dont like to run with the road is wet or when it is raining but, wet or dry, the traction is better with a new wheels certainly. In my country (Galicia) there was an advertsiment from Michelin that said; "Power without control it is useless", never is expensive a good wheel in fast car as Fiesta ST, Pilot from Michelin is very good but Im happy with stock wheels: Bridgestone Potenza, and next month i will change front wheels with 20000 Kms (12427 british milles).

I imagine in Galicia you get plenty of nice weather. Here in Northern Ireland it is often wet and miserable weather but we still like to drive hard :D
@santiagobalea59367 жыл бұрын
No Adam, winter here is hard too, perhaps no hard as Northern Ireland. But I don´t need to drive for go to work and when it´s hard raining i go in bus : ( If i have to drive in a wet road, i prefer to drive slow, Iistening radio, for example, it is my "Flanders style"for driving :D

I've had nankang ns2r on a couple of cars and they are brilliant when they have warmed up a bit but not good at all in the wet

Thanks for your reply adam. I'm looking for a harder wearing tyre. Only done 7500 miles, and the fronts are nearly gone. I don't roar away from the lights either. Any ideas please?
@AdamRainey4 жыл бұрын
Hi Graham, any 'sport' oriented tyre will have faster wear than a regular economy tyre because of the softer compounds used to get them to be sticky when warm. I tend to only consider big name brands and very much like michellin so if I were you, I would just swap the fronts and rears and keep driving on them for another 7.5k :)

Everyone seems to rate the PS2s or PS3s - I've only replaced the front two on my ST and I went for the Potenzas that come as standard on them because I think they're pretty good for a stock car, but I'll be taking the car right up to Revo Stage 2 on Friday and I think I'll need to upgrade to some Pilot Sports... May also need to upgrade the breaks too! See how I go with it, hopefully I don't ram it into a tree...
@AdamRainey7 жыл бұрын
Matt Rosell Stage 2 will be a beast! I don't know what the braking will be like on stock brakes but let us know you get on 😊
@Matt7R7 жыл бұрын
Adam Rainey to be honest I do tend to take it pretty easy on the brakes, don't do track, just like flooring it out of roundabouts etc haha. Very much looking forward to Stage 2 though! Like a kid on Christmas Eve!
@powellj277 жыл бұрын
Hello Matt, I hope the upgrade went well and I hope the stock brakes are holding up. Personally I would upgrade them if you have over 230bhp I find the brakes good if you have up to 230bhp but over this defiantly need an upgrade.
@Matt7R7 жыл бұрын
Stock brakes are holding up just fine! But I can definitely tell in some places (where I'm more confident driving a bit more swiftly) that I'm braking harder when coming up to the corners as I'm now doing 10 mph+ more than before in the twisty bits! Overall though I'm definitely not bothered with an upgrade on the brakes, I'd only do it if I was taking the car on the track which I'm never going to do, I only use the extra power from the stage 2 upgrade for short sprints and that's all I need it for, I rarely slam the brakes on! Car is running 245bhp and 300ftlb!

Hi Adam, can't find any PS3's where I am, PS4's seem to be the ones here. Do you know if there is any difference between them?
@AdamRainey4 жыл бұрын
The PS4 wasn't available in the ST wheel size at the time of making this video but is now of course. The PS4 is similar just improved, mainly wet weather performance I think is very good
@Ninja2387 жыл бұрын
For future reference Hankook Ventus v12s are also a good tyre. I think I might try the ps3s next as everyone raves about them lol

Another great vid! Thinking of doing the same to my st soon! What did you mean by 'putting it in sport mode?' Is that on the remap handset? P.s can't wait for the mp215 review
@AdamRainey7 жыл бұрын
Cheers Charlie! When you press the 'ESC Off' button that is the car in what it calls sport mode. The traction control off symbol then comes on in the dash although traction control isn't 100% off in this mode - to get it fully off you can press and hold the esc off button until it says it is fully off

Hello Adam. I recently put pilot sport 3 tyres on my fiesta st. I was just wondering what psi you run on? Mine was set by the garage/fitters but my tyre sensor on the car keeps going off every time I take a corner. Sometimes it's every few minutes. Mine are set to. 36f 26rear. Recommended by Michelin.
@AdamRainey7 жыл бұрын
Hi Badger, I assume I am running the same recommended pressure - I just let the garage do their thing and haven't had any issues since. I assume you are resetting the sensor each time you check the pressure? If you are sure the pressures are OK then your sensors may have an issue that you will need Ford to look at
@powellj277 жыл бұрын
Hello Adam, thanks for the quick response. I reset them to what Michelin recommend and no issues at the moment. I'll let you know if my tyre sensor is insane :)
@JammNickk6 жыл бұрын
Badger God never use the tyre manufacturer guide for tyre pressure, go by what the car manufacturer states. You can find these on the plaque in your drivers door along with paint colour code

Try black circles for the PS3s. Can get them about £72 each. www.blackcircles.com/catalogue/michelin/pilot-sport-3/205/40/R17/W/84/

Hi Adam, Did you consider Dunlop SportMaxx RT2 tyres?
@AdamRainey7 жыл бұрын
Hello, not sure if they were available in my size. Would you recommend?
@MrRealvideo7 жыл бұрын
Hi, I've not tried them as yet, just looking for replacement for factory original Continental Sport contact 5 on Fiesta S MR165 (205/40 R17) Bit torn though as the Michelins also get good reviews and not to many people going for the Dunlop's on the fiesta that I can see.
@anthonyminshall26027 жыл бұрын
Hi Adam Wot do you recommend normal unleded or super unleded petrol can you help
@Groaznic6 жыл бұрын
I've been running diesel in mine for 2 years now, can barely feel any difference and you can save a lot of money. Give it a try mate.

205/45/r17?
@AdamRainey6 жыл бұрын
205/40R17 I think
@wallmethod6 жыл бұрын
Adam Rainey I checked Michelin’s website their sizes are awkward for fiesta. Unlike Pirelli you can have 205/40/r17 or 215/40/r17... what’s sad about Michelin is for 17? They only have 205/45/r17 and thats a bit thicker... My fiesta is a Powershift 1.0 123hp. Stock wheels are 195/50/r16 but since Michelin has good reviews I got the 205/50/r16 Pilotsport 4... it so grippy and becomes more grippy on Wet conditions. I’m planning of getting in the 17s and still want Michelin but 205/45/r17 is too thick... maybe Michelin is more on performance rather than aesthetics
