As a woman, and disabled veteran, I've never used those other ride share companies because I've never trusted the safety of riding with them. Please add some accessible (as in power wheelchair accessible) vehicles to your fleets. When I'm traveling to Washington DC itself, I can't legally carry, and I'd really like to know I can get to and from an event safely.

It’s agaist there terms of service. How ever after the multiple law suits in Arizona they lifted out here do to constitutional carry in the state. They cannot ban the carrying of firearm for rider so therefore, after several incidents or Uber drivers are killed, including a pregnant woman in Tempe Arizona. They lifted it, but they’ve done it without any acknowledgment publicly no statements or anything. So over half of the Uber drivers that are legal in Arizona carry just based on the constitutional carry or permits

I had to do jury duty the other day. No gun, no knife. I haven't felt that naked in 15 years! 😂 the courthouse is on the same property as the county jail! Your car will get robbed if you dont lick it. I had my son drop me off so i didnt have to leave my truck in that lot. All my tools are in it. Last year a guy got out of jail and got caught carhacking someone in the courthouse parking lot. Happens all the time.

The other replies don't seem to understand logic and apparently have not been used to carrying in bad areas and everywhere and then had to go to a bad area for court. Try San Bernardino, California.......you know, the places where the news stories are about the cops being hunted down by gang members and Sheriffs deputies have explained the type of people they often deal with. I also didn't like parking my truck full of tools in a ghetto city and if a person locks their carry gun in the vehicle, it also has potential of being stolen. Your valuables and vehicle are at risk and if you leave weapons at home, then you do not have that option if something was to happen on the drive to and from the courthouse. Imagine not having your cell phone, keys, and wallet on you while out driving around. Does that not feel odd, like you are missing something? Depending on what work I am doing, and the location, I will vary between carrying a gun, keys, and wallet, but always have my phone. Other tools, snacks, drinks, or medication may be included as it can be a long walk back to a truck while working in the field. Yes, I do feel naked when I check my clothes to ensure I have the right stuff for what I am doing, even if I intentionally left part of it behind, and yes, not having a gun after normally having the option does make me feel naked. I'm a realist! No place is safe, as crime happens anywhere and everywhere. Safe is only a relative term used as you play the odds game. The area I live in does have a lot of crime and a huge number of people, so there are certainly safer areas in the US. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

In some ways 8 feel like Uber and Lyft are for rookie drivers in the livery space. I say this because I drive Yellow Cab from 01 to 06 in Austin and Dallas. To get a hack license in the City of Dallas you have to spend a day at Dallas City Hall and part of it is a safety briefing from DPD. In mine they straight up told us "We have real crime solve so don't call us if you get robbed. All of you have passed a background check more intense than TX DPS for LTC so if you don't carry that is on you."...that was a paraphrase from an active DPD Sargeant. Uber and Lyft markets rookies.

This is such an amazing and necessary concept. I find it hard to believe that it is not already available. It is great to see men of this, pun intended, caliber standing up to protect people from the crime everyone knows is out there but some want to ignore. It’s important to protect your loved ones but you can’t be everywhere all the time. I would love to use this service to transport my family. It will probably never happen in NY but if it does I will use this exclusively. Much respect. I hope this becomes the premier ride app.

I love this concept. I worked in LE for 27 years in Oregon, am a retired Parole Officer (22 years), and drove for Uber & Lyft for 2 years during the pandemic after retirement. But it's very dangerous out there, and I decided to stop. After I move to Tennessee ( in a year or 2) I'd love to drive for a company like this!

Florida used have a law that all rental vehicles have a rental company sticker be visible on the back of a vehicle tourists drive. So armed robbers knew who did not have a gun and robbed them at the road side. It went on for 2 + years before they changed the law.

In California, they would need a Private Patrol Operator (PPO) license. They tried this already in other states.

In Virginia you need a Personal Protection Specialist credentials plus be employed and insured by a private security company. This man knows that and is trying to call BW a tech company. It’s not going to fly unless BW and employees meet all the private security requirements for each state.

@@91m I've only ridden Uber twice, once to a store for insoles while at a convention, and once when the DART broke down and I had to get to my car from the NRA show in 17. In 17, I was carrying, didn't say a word, but my driver was a recently separated Marine, so I'm pretty sure he'd have been, and neither of us cared. As for my decision, I just don't want to work for a company that says that (so far, Uber Eats has not given me any runs)

I'm going to be checking this out. Being blind in an area with very little reliable public transit, I rely on Uber and Lyft a lot and many of their drivers are... well, we'll just say, they do not inspire confidence. I, myself, for the reasons above am not very good with a firearm (close-in weapons are better for us) so having a driver who is not only reliable, but armed and trained with it, could be useful in this somewhat dangerous area.

He made the point that most LEO'S and other first responders get driving training, which helps keep his insurance affordable. Lower expenses allows a small company to be competitive with the big ones. Also, LEO's and military have had many, many hours of firearms training.

So so I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt that you misread that or was it simple enough in writing what I meant. My point was is that most constitutional carry states now Uber and Lyft have to allow both riders and drivers to carry firearms. They still cannot carry them openly, but they cannot de-platform them for carrying concealed. I also being based out of Arizona, owning my own transportation, securities company, where we do have private clients that request arm security guard transport. I have not nor anyone of the other three companies that I know, and the owners of those companies seen any driver or person attached to black . At least here in Arizona. Now I know Black Wolf is based originally out of Georgia. He’s moved to Florida Texas and supposedly here in Arizona. I saw on the board for Arizona state patrol will you have to register yourself on security the company name for having their paperwork being processed. But I haven’t seen nor know of anyone who drives a black wolf in Arizona or seen them at any of the training required by the state of Arizona.

So if you are driving for Black Wolf, in most jurisdictions your drivers are arguably acting as private armed security--and that usually means being a licensed security guard, with a special (and pricey) special license to be an armed guard. How's that working out? Have you run it past lawyers?

No, they are drivers only. The driver stays with the car, pick up and drop off, then on to the next pickup. Besides, LEO's in most states, even after retirement, are allowed to concealed carry off duty.

I believe that the biggest risk an Uber driver faces is from an accident; secondly from people outside the car - and almost never from people within the car. For example, the one driver I personally know who has been robbed was robbed while getting gas. That said, the customer need not know, and certainly doesn’t need to see, if the driver is armed. Keep in mind that Uber picks up only by appointment with an established account. The driver is not carrying cash. These factors serve to prevent most of the risks faced by taxi drivers from happening.

Our local conventional yellow cab company doesn't ban their customers from carrying, and I'm pretty sure most of their drivers are armed. I never use ride share services for that reason, I just call a cab on the rare occasion I need one.

back when i worked security in cali there was a amtrak station shift i'd occasionally do and i got familure with all the cabbies that would park there at night trying to pick up fairs from the trains, turns out most of them carried cause they had issues with people trying to rob them. So to me this makes sense, especially if your moving folks around at night when the most violent crime tends to happen.

I just like the fact that some vetting is involved in hiring drivers. Normal Uber / Lyft drivers you dont know anything aboutt their legal status, criminal background , driving and accident history, insurance, heck, you don't even know if the person driving is the one active on the account. With this service, I would imagine this is VASTLY improved, outside of the driver being a CCW operator. I'd definitely pay extra for just the first points.
