Just FYI, you can replace the hook on the UV2 with a hook from the UV1. I've done it to mine when I had the same d-loop eating issues and it works perfectly.
@nathanwiens1082 жыл бұрын
I did the same thing. I've taken some emery cloth to the H2 hook after the fact but I haven't put it back in since the H1 hook works fine so far.

I just can’t stay with a button. I bought an Onnex to run for indoor season, and started out great. But as usual I started getting twitchy, and panic started creeping in. Went back to my Fulcrum and feel more relaxed in the shot.

When I started shooting bows in 2006 I started with a finger release. I am thinking about moving to a button. I have looked at Stan and UV. I am looking for a bow shop within driving distance to try a few buttons. My local archery shop is not able to carry a very large selection. Any recommendations for someone making the transition? I am trying to decide on which brands and versions would be good to consider. There are just so many options I am seeking advices from those who have been there, done that.

If you want to go from a hinge to a button, and have the same set up, why not just buy one T.R.U. Ball GOAT? It also costs $300, and not $600 you might need for two releases. Have you tested one yet?
@caninphx2 жыл бұрын
Problem with the Truball Goat is the trigger is extremely sensitive almost as hot as the wiseguy. If you could adjust the sensitivity like on a Stan, it would hands down be my fav release. A lot of us like to preload the trigger, it took me a long time to be able to shoot the goat and not have misfires. I actually just bought a new one and it’s even more sensitive and the adjustment does nothing as far as I can tell, just sent it back.

I agree. GOAT is an excellent release. A captive hook would be the only improvement I'd want. Just for hunting.

Because it sucks as a hinge. Great button, but not as a hinge.
@jimellis27782 жыл бұрын
Not a bad effort, One reckons it sucks as a hinge, one reckons it sucks as a button, and one reckons it is the best release out there! Its obvious to me that this release is a very personal choice. No longer sure if I should get on!

Just picked up my first thumb release. Went with the B3 exit pro. Love it so far, but I have one concern, out of the box it has had this rattle like something is loose inside the handle. Thoughts?

I shoot four different H2's and did own the Button for a couple of weeks and sold it. It fit me great and I loved it BUT for some reason my impact was constantly 1-2" to the right (I am LH) at 20 yards compared to my H2's.
@Duke-le6vy2 жыл бұрын
Hey man, I have a truball hinge and the onnex. I'm a righty and found constant 2-4" left with the onnex. I've discovered that I'm actually torquing/twisting the onnex and bringing the hook away from my face. The hook stayed level horizontally but moved out. It was barely noticeable in my anchor feel but once I figured it out I became conscious of it. I relaxed my hand more and the problem is mostly gone. For you shooting to the right it's possible you've done the same?

I just bought this release this weekend, it’s my first one, my only concern is how do I know I got the right size. (They only make the button In medium i believe) I wear a size large glove and think I have pretty average hand / finger sizes. Do you have a video on how to find your size for these types of releases.

I have both Perfex LN and the UV TB. I find the string capture clicks on my dloop better with the Stan than the Button. I have to use my finger to press it through with the Button and the Stan just clips on with no help.
@nathanwiens1082 жыл бұрын
The UV Button definitely has a much much stronger d-loop keeper than my Stan. I have to index finger the loop into the hook on my UV as well.

Agreed they need to use a lighter spring on the gate. Mines about to become a open hook release lol.

I still love my Stan. More options to customize how it fits in your hand and has been reliable after thousands of arrows! New products are always tricky because nobody has had time to really put them through the paces
@mitchimal2 жыл бұрын
My Perfex stopped working after 5 months. Would click but not go off, sent it back but it was working when they got it so they didn't do anything. Googled the issue and found some posts with the same thing. Really killed it for me, the Perfex feels unreal and setting it up to your own hand is unreal. Also it's SO LOUD! when UV make this release in large in going to sell the Stan for it
@caninphx2 жыл бұрын
@@mitchimal my two perfex ago back In for service like clockwork every 3 months. Drives me nut, same Issue they click and don’t fire until I start letting down. Those two releases have cost me at least a dozen arrows as it happens randomly and your like what and start to let down as it won’t fire and it launches the arrow into oblivion, not always. Shame as I love my perfexs, I’ve seen others reporting this issue as well with their perfex
@mitchimal2 жыл бұрын
@@caninphx yes exactly! That's what happens! Won't fire until you start to let down. What a joke. They said to the dealer " if you can't recreate the issue we won't help" I'm like awesome... $480 AUD for a release I can't trust. It's literally the most important part of hunting and I now can't trust it.

Is it worth 360 shipped though? I get a bonus in couple days an thought about splurging on one to replace my trufire synapse. I played with release you're reviewing at my pro shop an after couple thousand shots threw it, and ir gets loud. Even activating the d loop lock squeals. Sounds like a granny rocking on a chair
@caninphx2 жыл бұрын
No it is not. You will loose 1/2 inch of draw length compared to your normal handheld releases same as there hinge. Which is why a lot of have sold or gotten ride of their releases.
@mitchimal2 жыл бұрын
@@caninphx you're presuming everyone has a short neck release. All my releases are long neck and fit my hand perfectly. Don't know how you know everyone is sending them back but from all reviews I've seen on both hinge and thumb have been extremely positive
@Nic-with-the-Beard2 жыл бұрын
@twisted1 depends on how important a release is to you. It's hard to say objectively, but I like mine a ton. Out of all my thumb button handhelds, it's my favorite but I've also been shooting UV1 and UV2 for a long time.

@@caninphx go shoot a few. I didn't like this release. Bought a second carter wise choice after shooting the uv for 1/3 the price of the uv. Stan also makes excellent releases.
@caninphx2 жыл бұрын
@@mitchimal great! Glad this one worked for you! And your right I am assuming everyone. I should have said there are lots of people on the boards selling and sending back uv releases for this exact same reason with draw length and they can’t use other releases due to neck length being significantly longer. Small d loop adjustments are usually required btw releases, but that’s 30s and you don’t loose speed/have sight tapes changes to go with it.
@Gibsonlife5732 жыл бұрын
At 1st looking at it and thinking about it I don't know how they could make the button be able to go left to right but then thinking about it all they had to do is thread that is it thread that stud drill a hole put your screw through that hole into the barrel but a lock worser or you know a tabloid worship worship on that screw before you put it through the hole it would act in as 2 different accessories One you could have moved and left to right you also could have got a little bit more height out of it and you could roll the barrel around raising it up-and-down so honestly it wouldn't act to this 3 different access points

Too dang expensive!! There ARE several less costly thumbs that are excellent in design. Clean crisp actions. Very adaptable to various hand sizes. And they aren’t $300. Now, if you have extra funds- great! Go for it. Just MO.
