In my perspective, there’s 3 hint possible updates 1. Cursed, something might scary, relating to upcoming Halloween, will be introduced in certain biomes 2. Too few enemies, this emoji hints for more enemies like mini bosses. Fractions, NPC aliens to added in update 3. Augmented difficulty update, even permadeath are child play, they need to pay a price

This would actually make a lot of sense. Most of the new content coming to NMS seems to be related content for LNF that they're testing out. From what I've read, a lot of people are hoping to be able to build ships and sail the oceans of LNF. If you're right this could be really exciting!!! Granted I've seen some posts here saying that cursing like a sailor isn't even a phrase in the UK so it could be completely wrong 😅 either way, I'm looking forward to whatever the update is!!!

In the UK we'd say "swearing like a trooper" but it's pretty outdated now. Not familiar with the sailor related one.

The US versions was indeed "mouth like a sailor" . My grandparents were born in the 20's and it was something they used to say. You would say something to the effect of "Marry? Boy she was a drinker, and had a mouth like a sailor....." I can't really say I've heard anyone else use it in a long time. Seems to have gone the way of the Dodo since foul language is very common place now. As opposed to when my grandparents were growing up it was still considered a sign of ignorance well as rude.

The expression I've heard here in the UK is "Mouth like, or swear like a docker". And when I was living in Southampton, it's was "mouth like a Portsmouth Docker" which was popular in the office 😅.

Agree with some others here, Jason. This is most likely a Halloween update (Curses), as there hasn't been a Halloween themed update since Desolation. If the Worlds Update Part 2 comes out this year it will be during the Holiday Season, end of November or early December.

I would rather have Expedition replays anyway. I was in the hospital for a couple of months and couldn't complete the Expedition where you get the cool new hauler. As for getting back into NMS -- I never left it. It's the only game I play, though it feels more like exploring than playing.

I think the pirate thing is too vague of an interpretation, however I think the "cursed" interpretation everyone is saying is too spot on. Even if "cursed" is correct, I don't think there's any one specific conclusion you could automatically jump to for that, either. We've seen before that sometimes the meaning of these emojis can just be simply what it looks like, or sometimes just the last thing you'd think of. I bet it's either gonna be nothing like anyone's talking about here... or a lot more than what is being suggested. Either way, the meaning of this emoji is probably not gonna be as cut and dry as we think.

Maybe we will get the ability to scan the worm and / or otherwise interact with it. Or an extension of the cursed theme taking over spreading to other worlds. We might have a expedition to stop the curse from enveloping the galaxy. Yes, truly out there. But when you put up an Orange for Origins, all bets are off. ;-)

I skipped entire fishing one, but eager to see what they deliver with this new patch. Wish they added more veriety of items spawned on planets. Liek different oxygen plants/dihidrogen crystals/different dops/landing spots/etc. that would sure give it a nice fresh look to the game. (like they did with space stations)

I "hope" that they incorporate ship building parts, stone, metal, wood, that react to water like the skiff. would be nice to make wood pirate ships, metal battleships with guns, and even stone parts in some as well. maybe this is what's coming? being a "sailor" emoji, must have something to do with the sea. would also like our space ships be able to dive into water like the flying sub from voyage to the bottom of the sea!

Also, if you look at last year there were only 3 Expiditions, the last ending (Voayagers) on Oct 16th. We have had 4 this years so far. Does this mean we will only get an update, or are they going BIG (as Sean said) and giving us 5? I would say we are at the end of the expiditions and we will get a large update next week. But as usual, we will have to wait and see.

What if we get sailing ships? I think they need to create underwater biomes so that when you’re traveling in the sub every three feet is just like the last three feet. You could ride in the sub for an hour and never feel like you went anywhere because everything looks the same it doesn’t allow you the ability to explore because everything in you field of vision is exactly the same on the other side of the planet. Look at games like Subnautica they have different biomes underwater so every few feet there is something new to explore. I get that the surface is the same but if they could pull that off for underwater that would really be something.
