This is the exact model I currently own now. Such a nice pistol, best version of the 19 IMO. I’ve owned Gen 2s, 3s, and Gen 4 19s. This is my favorite Gen because no finger grooves and also the front slide serrations. All the upgrades and changes reminds me that Glock is the apple of the gun world.

I work law enforcement and have come to love and trust Glocks. I love almost all firearms and own a lot of them. Out of all of the firearms that I own, several are Glocks. The department that I work for uses Glock 22 handguns with Glock factory night sights. A Glock 22, is chambered in .40 S&W. I have trained with them for 13 years and counting and some of our range Glocks have well over 50,000 rounds through them and are still on all of the original components that the firearms came with from the factory. Glocks are unbelievably reliable and durable. I have never had a Glock malfunction at all and I have trained with them in every environment and weather. Even in below zero temperatures. I’ve covered my Glocks with water, snow, sand, dirt and mud and they still function. With the Glock shown in this video, I have the virtually identical Glock 19. Mine in a blue label, Gen 5 Glock 19 MOS with the Ameriglo night sights from the factory. Mine also has front slide serrations and the half moon cutout gone. The only difference with mine from the one in this video is that mine is a MOS model. Or what is referred to as a Modular Optic System. Or what is more commonly known as a red dot optic sight that mounts in front of the rear sights. With a lot of people buying firearms right now due to the global pandemic, if anyone has any questions and has bought a firearm but doesn’t know how to handle them safely or are thinking about buying one and has questions, please feel free to reach out to me. I will be more than happy to help anyone out that has questions.

Hey, thank you very much for your comment! Honestly, seeing people like you come through inspire me to make more videos regarding firearms. There's a lot of people in the gun community that are very caring and eager to help. I've seen some really cool people come through and sometimes even more than my gaming videos. I get tired of seeing some people in the media and the uneducated paint a different image of gun owners and those that support our 2A rights. And thank you for sharing your first hand, personal experience with Glock. I do get some keyboard warriors coming in on a regular that bash Glock and push other firearms. I don't think there's a one size fits all gun but Glocks check a lot of the boxes and i don't think you can go wrong with any modern Glock. It just does what it needs to do.

Another difference from the first batch of gen5, is the polymer body under the muzzle wasnt initially cut like the front of the slide (the thing that makes holstering the gun better). Now the polymer followrs the new shape.

Has somebody who used to work in the military and i go on shooting competitions regularly i want to emphasize the importance of the front serrations. While racking the slide the front serrations shave half a second. I am only considering buying guns that have that feature however i do find that on most guns front serrations are way close to the muscle the perfect placement of those serrations is done on the CZ 75 sp01 shadow.

I'm sorry, but the front serrationa look better, I love the flared mag well and all the updated revisions. I'm glad I didn't jump on the early versions, this one looks way more bad ass to me. I never liked the gen 4 and those earlier 5's look the same. This version is truly the Gen 5!

You're welcome! M&Ps are great guns so it says a lot for you to switch. If I had to choose outside of Glock for EDC it would definitely be the m&p series. Also the p365 is a great pick too. I think they've worked out all the bugs with it.

I like the ability to make Gen 5 left or right handed, but I'm hoping for Gen 6 to be a truly ambidextrous firearm, not just one that you can swap parts around to make it left or right handed. The AmeriGlo bold sights are a very nice upgrade. I also like the high-visibility gunlock; some manufactures (Remington) include black gunlocks. I would like a more substantial cleaning rod; they could also include a "thug-plug" (dust cover/insert) for the hollow section of the grip, and maybe a high-visibility chamber flag.

They also made a cut in the breach face and use a different ejector. These both aid in ejection. Big difference between the early gen 5s and the recent gen 5s when it comes to ejection.

My EDC is a Glock 21 GEN4..45 I carry it everywhere I go and I have no problems with it and it’s comfortable I even carry it inside the waist band as well and I have no problems carrying it at all The Glock 21 is considered a full-size pistol so I’m pretty sure if I can carry a full-size pistol very comfortable. I’m sure you can too just in case if anybody was hesitant or curious about carrying a full-size pistol for EDC just thought I’d throw that out there.

I’m 5ft 6in, very slim. Maybe 155lbs. No way in hell I would want to carry a G17 on me. A g19 possibly if I have the right attire. But also I live in Texas and it’s hot so I dress minimally. I definitely prefer to carry subcompacts but everyone is different. Whatever works for you!

They also have a new cerakote on the slide of the gen 5, the slide stop is ambidextrous, and now the mounting rail in front of the trigger guard for lights has a 1913-sized notch instead of a special Glock size. Noteworthy if you're mounting a light, because the adapter for the notch needs to be a standard 1913 picatinny size adapter instead of the Glock adapter.

Slightly improved trigger, Glock marksman barrel that is crowned and is more accurate and the rifling has been changed a bit and has more chamber support. My Glock 19 gen 5 came with a blacked out serrated rear with u notch and ameriglo front sight. Also no finger grooves.

Excellent review the only reason to add the grooves in the front is so that in case you have been shot in your arm and you have only one hand available there is a technique to rack your weapon utilizing the heel of your shoes.

Carlos Noriega the front slide serrations are only on the MOS versions of the pistol, which are meant to readily take a mounted optic. The front serrations are there so that you can rack the slide back from a different position without your red dot getting in the way.

Good question!! From what I've seen the price difference between gen 4 and gen 5 models of the same gun is actually less than $100 but regardless, I would recommend the gen 5 at this point. When they first came out in 2017, I could understand the argument for gen 4 (because it was out for several years and has been proven reliable) over gen 5. But now, I think it's safe to say that gen 5 is a proven platform as well so that's what I would recommend unless of course you enjoyed a gen 4 feature of some sort (i.e. finger grooves). Hope that answers your question!

Not to be "that guy" but I like the rear sights to be blacked out and the front sight of be at least high visibility if not a night sight. I have a 19x and am realy happy with it. I don't care about front serrations even tho I use the front of the slide half the time. I do what ever feels cool in the moment.

Do you mean blacked out with no tritium in the rear as well? I've seen this done on some Glock Talo special edition models and haven't had an opinion on it yet. I'm not going to knock it without trying. Whatever works man! There's too many people on here that try to force one way or the other. Everyone has their own preference.

I fell in love with it very fast and changed most of my pistol sights to match. For me it works wonders. I recommend checking it out, I like it better then going with a red dot.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I was definitely considering the blacked out rear more after watching one of my favorite KZbinrs from vigilance elite. If you haven't seen his stuff yet, you should check it out. I think even Taran tactical has said that the least amount of data to process is best and having blacked out rears with one highly visible sight post is what he does for competition . I considered heavily about getting a Glock mos so I could get an RMR. Still haven't run it on a regular but I'm losing interest in it. I have a fairly minimalistic approach.

Amazing handgun. You're gonna love it! they're hard to come across at the moment but i'm starting to see more and more of them. I think the ammo shortage is improving a little bit too now. yeah, i just got a new springfield hellcat and it came in a cardboard case and zipper pouch. I'm not hung up on hard or soft case but it's a point that i try to point out when i'm doing an unboxing video. For new buyers, a hard case is a nice thing to have. Also glad you got the new one!! There were enough complaints about that cut out in the grip that Glock actually low-key switched over to no cutout mid generation. Lol

The original Glocks had the half moon cut out for a reason , the first Glock mags were not metal lined (drop free) .By having the half moon it gave you more to grab if you needed to rip the mag out. 😉

I have the Glock 15 Gen 5 and I think it's the updated one cuz it has the front serrations and doesn't have the halfmoon at the magwell, but it just has the crappy sights - the sights are easily replaceable though so if it's missing anything i suppose i'd rather it be those

I know this is an old video, but maybe someone can help me. Is there a place that breaks down these numbers? I just bought a new Glock 19 Gen 5 and the number is PA195S302MOSAB. It has the AmeriGlo sights and MOS for mounting a red dot. It only came with 2 additional backstraps, both with beaver tails. I wonder if I'm missing the other 2 or if they just stopped shipping with them. Also, do I have the 4.02" Marksman barrel ? Do they all ship with that now? Oh, and you did a great job on this video.

I picked up the blue label label Glock night sight model. I wasn't a fan of the original gen 5 and don't like red dots on MY GUN (everything isn't for everyone). This one is a keeper for me. Great video, new sub.👍🏿

Nice!! I'm glad you were able to get it for blue label pricing. Glock 19's over here in DFW are actually very difficult to come around. Definitely a keeper and I appreciate the new sub!

I bought this last Saturday with Blue Label discount to use as duty weapon. Those AB sights are awesome and the grip is perfect for my small hands(coming from Gen 3). Gonna buy another for personal carry and switch P365 to possibly summer carry

I didn’t know there was a 5S version but I picked mine up 3 months ago right before I got my ccw and I’m glad it’s the 5S because apparently some people had problems with their Gen 5’s not feeding 147 federal HST ammunition but they updated this to make that problem go away. I’ll find out and test the 147 HST’s Edit: they feed great!

Very nice review! I have the first variant of the gen 5 Glock 19. Really enjoy the updated features. Mine has the Ameriglo sites like your example. I highly recommend opting to purchase the pistol with those sites. I'm curious if the earlier gen 5's will still be produced or if Glock opted to make all gen 5 19s like your pistol.

+1 I totally recommend these sights. I have a G43 and I installed Trijicon HD night sights with the orange online last year. Very similar setup but it was like $125 and that was on SALE.. Definitely better to get the Ameriglo night sights out of the gate if plan on doing night sights anyway. Also, great point. The glock 19 gen 5 is updated on Glock's website with the front slide serrations, bevels frame to match slide, and no cutout so my guess is that they're not going to make any more of the "earlier" gen 5's.

@@FaLkraydz Haha hey, it's all good. You can get the Ameriglo's with the orange outline and there's also Trijicon HD (and HD XR) but be prepared to pay a premium for them. I don't want to refer to myself as an expert but i've been following the industry for quite some time and have rotated through several EDC's so I know quite a bit when it comes to handguns. let me know if you have any questions. Honestly, I shoot well with the stock "football post" glock sights but if you're looking to have something better for night time / dark situations, you'll have to get night sights or invest in a weapon-mounted light. Your g19 has a rail so it can take a lot of attachments. WELCOME TO THE COMMUNITY THOUGH! :)

I like your review that you gave for the Glock 19 I know I wanted to get a Glock 19 for home defense and concealed carry part of the reason why I can't use the Glock 43 is because my hand size is too large that is the main issue and so Glock 19 would make a good in between I originally had a Glock 17 as my everyday carry but never truly concealed since it's so large and so in my opinion the Glock 19 even though I have yet to try and fire one that's the issue with me is I don't have the strength for a lot of things so a Glock pretty much has to be able to handle my less than able to use of strength I have extremely mild CPS so my only issue I have with Glock I will freely admit it is the strip down of the Glock and part of that is those two little switches in the front are difficult for me that's my downside I have used the basic sites on my Glock 17 and they were I believe I had Gen 4 at the time on my 17th but yes thank you very much you I loved your presentation for out of the box I did not know you could order with amerglow already on it.

These are my top 4 for subcompacts - Sig Sauer P365 (newer models) - Glock 43 - S&W Shield 1.0 and 2.0 - Springfield Hellcat 19 is big for me. May be a good fit for you. Idk but those are my favorite subcompacts personally.

They also beveled the frame under where the slide is beveled in the front on the muzzle. Before they beveled the slide, but left the frame pointing out lol. Now they got rid of the grip cut, they added front serrations, and they beveled the frame to match the slide. That one was the biggest for me it drove me crazy with the slide done and frame not. Lol

Still a great gun! I don't think any of the three new features is a must unless you hate the cut out. Yeah they have night sight models but not all gun shops sell anything above the base model polymer sights.

You could have just grabbed the CZ P10. It's a superior pistol with the only disadvantage being volume of aftermarket support. Dont let people push up on you with, " but Glock has a long track record of making reliable pistols"... CZ has been making premium firearms for FAR longer than Glock has.

Can’t go wrong with a Glock. But in todays market there are so many better options than just Glock handguns. I owned many Glocks but now we have H&K , Canik, CZ , Smith& Wesson and many others that are same and many are better choices for your money. I like the review on chis channel

I also have the G45 with Ameriglos (which i got before this G19) and I love it. It's a sweet shooter for sure. Just shooting and plinking, i definitely prefer it over the G19 but i just like the compactness of the G19. I've considered going MOS and getting an RMR but i'm not quite there yet. I'll stick to the iron sights for now. :)

People who claim to be experts, authorities on the subject write horrible reviews about this great hand gun. Success breeds haters. It's basically a Ford, Chevy debate. Colt lovers will hate any other brand. Browning fans will hate any other, Baretta owners will swear by Baretta, CZ owners will sing the praises..... Thank God we can all have an opinion. No one brand is perfect across the board. Each manufacturer makes THEIR gun, not a copy of others. Have fun with it, but Glock has proven itself by their contracts with police departments, military contracts as proof. Apparently they make a firearm that does what it says it will do. All manufacturers have issues that owners say could be better. Truly, have you ever said, or had a friend say. It's perfect? Ok let the lies fly....

The funny thing about Glock is they are so consistent with quality. UNTIL THE FUCKING TRIGGER. I don't mind some variance between triggers, but when two triggers, from the same gun with the exact same model number have a 4 and 3/4 pound pull and the other has a 6 pound pull that's an issue. Especially when literally everything else about Glocks are near perfectly manufactured in my experience

Also, the front slide serrations are for people that find press checks more comfortable using the front of the gun, instead of the back, say if you have massive gorilla hands like me

Interesting. I know there's some tolerances with the triggers but I didn't think it would get as low as 4.75 lbs. That sounds like an issue.

Personally I have never seen any of the military with a glock I always seen them with berettas sigs or 1911s plus all my family members who been in the military carried 1911s n berettas
