You know what pisses me off about people. You have the good manners to show people your home and yet they still find time to criticize. This is your home, a place where you live with your family. Your a lovely family and content. If others find it unsuitable for them then they should keep comments to themselves. Unfortunately, KZbin attracts so many hurtful people or should I say sad bastards that don’t have anything else to do all day.

Minimalism is a secret to happiness. The most important is you are able to afford to eat good food, maintain a healthy life style and have a clean house to sleep. Majority of people wants a lot of extra stuff to make them happy, but in return, they forget to enjoy life itself. Good luck and be safe.

Thanks for sharing your life with us. You have a good looking family. Even though the accomodations are smaller there, I am sure that the happiness is tenfold there as well. You have a good heart Steve. Keep the videos coming. Take care and be safe.

Thank you Steve for showing us your home. And for $80/mos, wow! I also admire how you have adapted. I feel the need to sell stuff and just clear out my townhouse. I like the freedom that comes from a simpler life focused on people and experiences, not possessions. Your plot of land is gorgeous too!

Man, it looks EXACTLY like the country areas in Jamaica. It’s so calming to go outside and see all those plants and just overall peace and quiet. I have six months left before I retire from the Airforce and I’m heading straight to Jamaica to live that life for at least six months to just decompress after 8 deployments and 20 years of lack of good sleep haha. Also can’t wait to eat non processed food and fruits that actually taste like it’s supposed to. It’s sad that most people in the “First World Countries” will never actually know what an orange actually supposed to taste like. Or see the chicken that they eat running around in the yard…the real free range and not some fake non sense for marketing.

Thanks for sharing. I lived in Korea for a while…definitely missed a sitting toilet. You are the king of minimalism. When I was in the military we used wall lockers to separate living areas in the barracks and provide a little privacy. We lived in 8-man rooms. Don’t think I could ever go back to that. Love the outdoor patio area. It looks very inviting.

With all of the craziness going on in the world, it's important to have someplace nice to come home to. I really like the place especially being surrounded by all of that vegatation with a spot out front to enjoy your coffee in the morning. I really enjoy your channel and all the advice that you give. The Cabana also rocks. Keep up the good work and hi from Germany.

Thanks for the tour Steve. For $80.00 a month (would be a hundred in our Canadian dollars) that's pretty good. The wife and I should be over around the end of November to take possession and furnish our little 27.3 cu. meter condo, and are looking forward to that. Places over there for the most part are pretty small compared to what almost all of us are used to.

“Chalky white” on paint is probably fungus/mildew. I had the same problem in Costa Rica 🇨🇷 and had to pressure wash the walls with bleach. Subsequently, I had it repainted with a anti-fungal paint made for the moist Tropical environment (It was making my daughter sicker than sick constantly. ) afterwards, the walls stayed the prescribed color scheme and my kid stayed ALOT healthier. Be careful and get rid of it ASAP! Thanks for sharing!

@@MrSteven5975 it’s some kinda white bio mildew. Think about it. It literally grows on your walls. Hhhhmm…that’s not normal here in the USA 🇺🇸 but, I vividly ‘member the same exact white mildew or bio growth on walls. AnywYs, it’s NOT normal nor healthy to breathe long term. Thanks again for your terrific advice and content! I’ve got both COVID shots and waiting on the booster ( Stay safe as you can) it ain’t nowhere near over

Steven for US$80 a month that is mint - although you have a family in there it would be perfect for a single person and would be fine for long term living in PI - am so waiting for things to open up so I can come over the first time - the unfortunate part is that PI will open up way before we are allowed to leave Australia for tourism :-( - it will happen - it will just take some time. Thanks for the walk around and opening your home to us all. God bless.

Thanks for sharing. I suspect having had the experience of living and working in a submarine environment taught you how to maximize the use of space with innovative ideas (dividers and cabinets with overhead storage area for one). If I can make suggestions (used this for my cramped condo) install kitchen cabinets and heavy duty shelves to clear up areas not just in the kitchen - just remember not to buy more stuff just because now you have space. Buy a free standing sink installed out side so washing dishes, food prep and food (important with fish) are all done outside. I foresee one day you will be living in a modest three bedroom house ... your son is about the age for that to happen. Before I forget - awning and adequate lights for the outside space ... cooking/baking when it's dark/raining can be a challenge (gotta take care of the REAL No. 1). Thank you again, be safe and many blessings to your family!

It looks beautiful to me. The only thing that I wonder about it seems there are not many windows, is it because its just so hot there that people do not want windows because it make make the house too hot? It looks super cozy, I would rather have something on the smaller side so it can be kept clean instead of something huge just to collect dust.

I have to be honest I find it amazing how four people can live so comfortably and only pay $80.00 dollars for rent. I have bought land and built 2 different houses in the Philippines that have cost me over $85,000.00 dollars because before moving this next year to retire I felt my biggest expense would be having a place to live, and then with all the typhoons every year I thought it was best to have two different homes incase one got damaged and I had to rebuild. But now after seeing your video I am thinking I would have been better off just renting except I guess I do have a house to leave my daughter and son when I die. If they want to they can keep them or sell them and buy land and build a house somewhere else. I really think now I would have been better off just putting the money in the bank or investing in other things.

Steve, Now I know why you sit outside a lot. Not many windows inside. 😀 But honestly for the price it's a bargain, I also had much the same in Cebu City at P3,500 per month til we built out own simple house out in the province of South Cebu. (But it's boring out here) I am looking to go to Thailand for 6mths in the new year (if all rules and regs fall into place). I think the Philippines has a long way to go. It's also gonna be interesting for who gets what vote in May 2022, which will determine what way the Philippines accepts foreigners moving forward. 🤔 Food for thought.
