00:30 Finally I get to View It.... Man the GERMAN LIST°° SO GREAT!!! Veterans, Assault Rifles and Panthers! Today it's all Champagne and Diamonds! 03:08 Love the British Platoon! The Mixxed Bag could work out! Love the Cheap Inexperienced Officers on their own. Keep 'em out of fire... and Keep their DICES!! 4:21 I predict the German Armor will struggle heavily against this British List! But The Panther and the STug will pounce and leap like Jungle Cats and claim hopefully a great Victory! 4:42 Love the Inexp Medium Mortars....they will wreack HAVOC! Love how the Frenchmen with their MMG filled up the British Forces. Thats awesome that everybody is patting out their force with allies. Love that. 24:52 Love the Terrain! Really Beautiful! !!!! 25:56 You took a Tank Platoon for the Germans. I think 1, I asume the Panther is your Command Vehicle. That costs ZERO points and gives a +1 Morale boost (in 12"!!!) With the Officer right there, your Panther should roll on a 9 Morale! 27:07 The Humber and the Cromwell Team should have had some Tea that morning! hahahah 30:00 Haven'T Seen MMG's in a while.... and now its ALL MORTARS AND MMG! WONDERFULL! 32:00 Love 3th Edition. You hit easier. You cause casuatlies. You PIN. But you don't loose the whole squad because you have the cover Saves. Warlord has done a great Job. The Game feels very Dynamic. Stuff is happening all the time. It's fun. (and those Single Pins will cause Failed Orders here and there). Very dynamic! Love it! When Playing last Friday with my Buddy, losing Men, or dice was kinda hard... (and thats good). Everything is more Survivable. THE GAME DOES WHAT IT SHOULD: LET YOU PLAY THE GAME! 34:52 THAT CROMWELL CREW SHOULD HAVE HAD TEE AND WISHKEY IN THE MORNING!!! On empty stomach they just can't... 42:56 FINALLY!!!! Those Cover saves.... 47:17 Those Brave British Rifleman near the Bridge! The Germans can Take Panzerfauts you know. Vets take a minimum of two. Regs or inexp take 1. Just Sayin'---- 12 Inch Range A Few Mortars with Spotters. MAybe a Heavy. the Rest Medium and inexp.

@@dariostabletopminatures Panther and Stug as we had discussed at some point mate! I loved running this german list but only two antitank shots, however powerful, is just not enough these days I think, needed a 'shrek team in there to make life easier! Can't wait to hear what you think when you finished watching :D
@the_major_91176 ай бұрын
I may be wrong but I think you may have got the rules slightly wrong with the tanks firing with their anti tank guns. The article about anti tank guns said that they get +1 to hit if given a fire order , so a tank with an anti tank gun and no pins will have a 3+ to hit with a fire order or a 5+ with an advance , because the +1 only takes affect if they remain stationary, so when you advance you don’t get the +1 because you issued an advance order and not a fire order. Hope that makes sense , and really enjoyed the battle report :) and keep the videos coming :)

Very cool. My biggest questions are still about HE and cover (I really dislike HE rounds and cover in 2e, and how a building grants NO cover, while a ruined building offers superior cover), but 3e is coming together well. I also wonder if HQ units will start to get charged for their weapon choices. In 2e it didn't matter all that much if you have away 1 free assault rifle a game (most armies phoned it in with their HQ's tbh), but with 2-4 mandatory HQs+ support being the norm IDK if dolling out 9+ free assault rifles is going to fly. Finally, I do really love that HQ units arn't JUST a tax in 3e. Making pins easier to apply, then leaning into failing orders instead of stacking -1's to-hit means the leadership AoE of HQ units is actually meaningful. In the past it was nice to offer +1 to leadership, but it didn't mean much if you were still at a -2 or more to hit (you still have to rally). Now pins are a push your luck mechanic that can be shored up by HQ's and I like that.

@@Keithslawinski You have perfectly summarised my own thoughts on the new pin system, seeing it all play out with the officers, it really works and is great to see! I really want these HE rules now, and vehicles!

I might be wrong, but I feel like your armoured platoon was probably illegal? The armoured platoon rules say you must use a vehicle with the command rule as your commander. The way I read it, and the way I think it's supposed to be, is that there is a hierarchy of how you interact with that restriction: If your entire roster has a vehicle with the command vehicle rule, then you must pick it before you can pick anything else. Only if your entire roster doesn't have a model with the command rule, then and only then can you use any vehicle and pay the 10pts to upgrade it to a command vehicle. So, for the Germans that would be something like the Sdkfz 222/223 command variant, or the 38H(f) command vehicle. For the French that would be the soft skin Laffly S20TL transport model with the command option. For a faction like the Dutch, where none of their vehicles have a command variant, or option to be a command unit, then you can pick whatever you like.

@@merlin4084 Good to hear from you again, thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed comment mate, genuinely appreciate the input as it's not how I have interpreted the rule, I will go back and re-read it. As a sidenote, I am confident tanks like the panther and tiger variants will get the command tank rule, facilitating players ability to run "pure" tank platoons, but of course this is speculation!
@merlin40845 ай бұрын
@@scholaprogenium7276 You are probably right that in v3 models like those might get it, but since we don't have that information, I think for next week's battle report that you add a correction that it might be more strict than you first realised and trying out what it probably should be.. I have the rule open in another tab and it say, "This MUST be a vehicle that has the Command Vehicle special rule, or that has been given the rule from it's entry's options. If no such vehicle is available to the player, the vehicle can be given the Command Vehicle special rule at +10pts, even if the entry does not normally allow this option." Under this wording, because the German's certainly have a few command vehicle models, you would be forced to take one of those models before you can take anything else. Whereas the Dutch, for example, have no vehicle with the Command Vehicle special rule or the option to take it, and so get the 'get out of jail' card option of just paying +10pts to have it.
@merlin40845 ай бұрын
Now, if we flip it on it's head and 'get out of jail' element of the rule is only talking about the players collection, then the hierarchy would still be in play. So, under this interpretation, if your entire Bolt Action collection doesn't include a vehicle with a Command Vehicle special rule, then you can pick any model. However, if you do have a vehicle with this rule and your opponent knows you have this model, he would be well within his rights to say that you're playing with an illegal army list as you do have a model with the Command Vehicle special rule to use (Granted, you'll not make any friends doing that, but my point stands). In any which way you look at it, there is a hard restriction and hierarcy on what model you can take as a command vehicle 1st - Models that have it by default 2nd - Models that can get it through one of their options 3rd - if no model has this rule via points 1 and 2, then you may make a model a command vehicle. It might feel needlessly restrictive, but it makes sense. Every platoon needs a dedicated officer and the army list provides dedicated officers to pick from. Why shouldn't the armoured platoon also force you to use dedicated command vehicles if your army has access to them? Even if they aren't what you want to put in your army list?
